      Did the heating coil on the replacement speedi, do the same discolouring at the start of the coil?

    I followed another TH-camr and did a 3.95 lb. Chicken on Steam and Crisp with 1 cup of water, 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Absolutely perfect! I temp probed it to make sure it was done. The chicken was so moist inside and crispy outside.

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing! I agree, 1 cup of water is good for about 20 mins of steam time. I obviously underestimated the power of this thing and used a higher temp AND a longer cook time the first time. I now do my chicken at 350 for about 25-30 mins as I like it very tender until it's fall of the bone! 😁

    Thank you for this review. Your preparation of the unit BEFORE use was very much appreciated as elsewhere there were complaints about the smell, which I assume is decreased with this type of prep.

      Yes, cleaning and airing it out definitely helps get rid of the new smell faster. 😀

    Hello there, I found this really informative and with all the examples it really helps new user to understand. I used to have one of these, but I ended up sending it back and bought an instant pot and an cosori air fryer to replace it. I think the fan in my ninja was faulty and when I tried to use the slow cooking method, it basically just boiled my stewing steak to leather, even on the low setting. I had to bin the whole meal and sent the unit back. I would like to say that ninja customer services were amazing and even though I was sending it back, they were lovely over the whole thing. I am buying another one, I love my other appliances, but this has been missed in my kitchen, so easy to use he he! Keep up the great work, people need reviews like yours! Take care Jane

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, Unfortunately, it all comes down to trial and error and I say this all the time when I review a new cooking appliance. One thing I did notice is this is very powerful, perhaps reducing the time & temp may help? I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. All the best! 🙂

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most of the time, no. If I run the air fryer on a high temp for a long time (i.e 400F for 50mins+) the counter feels warmish, but not too bad. Hope that helps.

  • @0.23pm9
    @0.23pm9 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Anyone with a new speedi, please do not run it on air fry when empty for 20mins. In the manual it says specifically to run it for maximum 10mins if there is nothing in the basket

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      At least' 10 mins is recommended. I always like to run it for 20 mins, because it helps to rid most of the smell. 10 mins is not sufficient for me and I know some viewers still find the smell very strong and run it multiple times. Feel free to do what you are happy with.

    Thank you for this video can I check when u cook fish fillet can I add potato wedges at the same time?

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the potatoe wedges may need a little extra cook time, either add the fish part way - or take out the fish earlier. Also note, the fish fillet will leave a fishy smell which may linger into the potatoe wedges. My advice, cook the wedges first, then cook the fish fillet, fish cooks quickly and the unit will be hot 😁

  • @rosalindspringer

    The steam and bake function can take as long as 20mins to preheat, before it time starts. You need to be patient.

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I waited for 50 minutes and my water evaporated. I have also used the function before this incident and it never took more than 10-12 minutes for 2 cups of water at 350F. I can understand that the lower temp and more water will cause it to take longer than steam & crisp. Mine definitely was defective, but thanks for the sharing the tip.
