      Absolutely NOT! I don't like my food INCINERATED! Way too many meals are ruined with air fryers. I have a higher-end air fryer that works well for something like my Checkers seasoned french fries. The best thing is I don't have to buy another 5-gallon bucket of peanut oil just to cook some french fries, and then dispose of another 5-gallon bucket of peanut oil just to cook some french fries. IMHO they are a PIA and take up way to much room when not in use. That's my 2-cents. TheReaper!

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very aggressive…. We just review products. We don’t manufacture them, or make peanut oil. Marc.

    Suggestion for the chicken parm....add the cheese at the very end and just close the lid. The residual heat will melt the cheese perfectly. I know you were going by the recipe guide but I've learned with Ninja, their guides can be way off at times.

    I bought this for speedy cooking and it rocks! I cooked a whole chicken (1.5kg) in 21 mins and it was awesome. But my first cook was potatoes and parsnips and they were perfect - it is a large ish device but about right for 4 people. The chicken was superb and cooked so quickly and so perfectly we were amazed. We bought it for speedy meals but also wanted it to work alongside our oven and it will be the perfect second oven we don't have room for. Don't delay in getting one as we did but buy one if you can because they are wonderful!

    I just found your channel, I saw a commercial for the Ninja Speedi and was curious if there were any reviews on it. Your channel was the second option in the TH-cam list and I’m so glad I clicked! I’m definitely a new subscriber.
    I really appreciate that you are Canadian, I love that I recognize products and references to things 😊 It seems like everything is always US based.
    Your video was great, informative, to the point, and honest. You did a wide range of recipes condensed down which I also really liked.
    p.s. I knew I’d like your channel as soon as you said that the weather is changing and quick meals will be important now with hockey season starting. So true, played for 29 years and we were always eating quick meals after school or in the truck on the way to the rink. Brought back some good memories of my sister and I travelling all over Ontario with our parents!

    This is one of the best videos for this Speedi. I just got mine and made scallops fettuccini Alfredo with broccoli. I took the scallops out sooner, but I should have put them in toward the end to brown. I got a good deal on mine at Kohls with a 40% off. Hope you make more videos on this, thank you! The cheese didn't screw up the panko, using the wrong knife did and too thick of a cut of meat did. I would have made the 2 breasts into 4 and used a smooth steak knife if you have to cut for presentation. Your salmon looked amazing. Don't fry chives (that was the bitter taste) , they go on after cooking for a spritz of color.

    Thanks for a great video! I saw another video on this toy and was impressed. I do have the Foodi, Foodi Grill, etc, etc. I have it ordered and on the way. A great deal at Kohls. As for the chicken Parm, after the chicken was almost cooked, I would remove the air fry rack, lay the chicken on the pasta, add sauce and cheese and heat just a short time. I like my chic parm done like this when done in the oven. The juices and cheese drip into the pasta a little……yum!

    If i wanted to cook a whole chicken do i place it on the tray in the lower section or just drop the chicken in the pot without the tray? Also the salmon looked delicious but huge...so do i have to consider the size of my protein for the crisping tray.. im thinking would this damage the heating element in the lid. Is there enough room?

    Great video! Been doing a ton of research on this vs the OL701. I alresyd have a basic 6qt instant pot so this may be more more useful than just replacing it. I do a lot of pressure cooking still though so it would be nice to have everything in one. But thanks for the info!

    In the UK we have a cost of living crisis and people are struggling to pay their energy bill. Many are turning to air fryers and speed cookers to cut cut down on using their kitchen ovens. Are you able to do an energy cost comparison, eg, cooking with a Ninja vs cooking in conventional gas or electric ovens? I'm researching these appliances with a view to purchasing one but no point if they use as much energy. Thank you for your videos.

    I have the foodie and love it but I’m worried about the Speedi being 6qt. I have a family of 5, with 2 boys. Do you think there is enough room in the pot to double a recipe if needed? One cup of rice would not feed my family.

      I think you were a little harsh judging the timing. Do you normally count the time to heat oven in cook time …no! For the Burrito bowl, it shouldn’t take 5 min to dump the ingredients in and season the chicken which you would do while the oven is coming up to temp. And who counts resting time in overall cook time. So yes,start to finish it’s a little over 15 min. It is however very quick and taste wonderful as you said. It is still a pretty cool quick cooker in all fairness!

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You make some good points there. I think our commentary was more about the company's claims. In reality you are correct, that time would be taken up with preparation. But to say "full meal in 15 mins" is not entirely accurate, that's all. That being said, it's an awesome product. Thanks for watching! - J
