Thank you for this video! It brings to mind a movie I saw with Marlo Thomas. She was playing a young woman who was having a guest for dinner. He was commenting on how delicious the meal was. She made a pot roast with potatoes. What she said was that she puts the potatoes on the bottom of the pot with the pot roast on top of the potatoes so that the juices of the roast dripped down into the potatoes. Another memory for me was watching street food on youtube. Chicken was being roasted on a spit, and below was a tray filled with potatoes, and the potatoes were catching all the drippings from the roasting chicken. I can't wait to try my new Ninja Speedi!
Yes I just love mine also, and we take it on holiday with us each time we go to our caravan, I cannot live without it. I’ve not used my oven once since I bought the Ninja last March 😂
Martina, you made me think of my travel trailer. Has anyone tried making toast in this? Counter space in our camper is quite limited. I can usually only fit one appliance in, so I try different meals with one appliance at a time. So far, my toaster oven has been the most efficient.
Great video, thank you. I’ve just bought my Speedi and love it. It does chicken beautifully. It does pay to keep an eye on the temperature as you will get tender juicy chicken. I’ve also cooked salmon fillets and a burger, nothing to adventurous. I will try this and let you know how it goes. Thanks again
Sofi, si quiero poner verduras y pechugas arriba podría hacerlo?. Si quisiera carnes o pechuga sola arriba , puedo hacerlo sin ponerle nada , ni agua abajo?, gracias por tus explicaciones 😃
Just got mine and I can't wait to Speedie this meal! Thanks for a great video, looking forward to catching more of yours. I'm thinking maybe we could use one of our racks from the instapot to suspend that rack just above the rice to give a little extra space between the chicken and the coil. Whadda ya think?
I have a question? Do you supposed to wash the rice before cooking it? I thought you may have said you rinsed it, but it was dry when you you put it in the Ninja.
Ahh the age old question! I do not rinse the rice if its normal processed rice. No need. It's been washed already, Now if you buy some rice that may be locally made then rinse and wash the heck out of it! I have dome my own research and this is my opinion. Others may disagree.
There are so many ways to cook on the Speedi, they should hold a contest like the best way to cook whatever. For example I cooked a steak air fry and another broiled and both were good.
Yes you can but with some changes. Bone in chicken must be completely thawed. Because the skin will burn I would lower the temp and time. That might affect the rice. I would just be careful and do a little testing. Let me know how it goes
I have the machine and I love it. What I don't like is that I drop the chicken juices in the rice. It happened to me the first time and I discarded the rice because it only tasted like it and it was very salty and unpleasant. I ask you, what is the right temperature to know that the chicken is ready?
This speedi is brilliant. Got one few days ago for only £99 via code from Martin Lewis site. I done my own chicken chilli mango coconut with veg rice and it was well tasty. I do wanna know why there's no official tool to lift the rack? There seems to be some thought there would be one by the way it has a hole type handle.
Does it preheat on its own before the 15 minutes kicks in or you need to preheat it? Or should you set it for 20 minutes and wait till 5 minutes go by before putting in your food?
Question - is there really a difference between this Ninja Speedi and my Ninja Speedi Pressure Cooker with the air fryer ? What will this Ninja Speedi do that my pressure cooker with 8 options not do ? I’m thinking you can add the teriyaki sauce at the beginning of pressure cooking and totally forget it until it’s done instead of messing with it 3 times with this unit. My pressure cooker also has the option of different levels putting the rice on the bottom and the meat on an upper level. Just wondering why they’re making all these different cooking units. I’m thinking obviously for the money. It just seems that my multi option Ninja pressure cooker will do what this one will do. Just curious. Thanks. Great video by the way.
Make sure you wash your thermometer after every time you test... you don't want to spread bacteria from when it was not properly cooked to your perfectly cooked chicken!
That look a very nice meal, Ninja have just told me they have this unit in here in the UK but unfortunately I don't have room for one, I have the 15 in 1 and the Dual unit plus the soup maker, Take care.
@@sandrawestley4193you could use any pressure cooker to make any of the quick meals people make in the Speedi, you just need a little shelf to raise the meat from the bottom.
How hard or easy to clean the top area of the cooker, particularly where the round heating element, what prevents scraps of food from flying up and sticking. Also how bad does this cooker smoke?
The best thing to use is steam and fry at the same time on the quick meals, makes delicious chicken and rice dishes underneath, most healthy food going.
@terebrown2892 Very easy to clean, don'tworry about that, just hot soapy water, it's non stick too,I've had mine since november, it's a great cooker,I would recommend to anyone, once you know how to use it, you'll never look back, some great deals to be had right now.

One problem I see with yout videos: nobody is interested to see the closed lid of the Ninja while the food is cooking and you are speaking in the backgriund. For *** sake, move the damn camera, lover it every time you close the lid. Yes, its harder, but you edit the film and can make a seamless transit from one faze to the other, Or jus move the camera back a little bit, to get a greater angle.
This is not being cooked from frozen. This meal is being prepared from fresh unfrozen chicken. As you can see from the picture. You cannot take frozen chicken out of the freezer and just cook it this way. It’s clearly not being cooked from frozen.
No but you can cook from frozen on a different programme, I’ve seen it done, but I would never cook with frozen foods, he is doing a speedi meal, which is an option on the speedi to do in 15 mins.
You can absolutely cook frozen chicken in a pressure cooker, which is what the rapid cook steam setting is. It's best when stewing in the liquids however as it can cook unevenly otherwise. For something like a soup or a casserole, there's no reason to defrost, just make sure you're cooking it to temperature before eating.

Chicken broth on a rice? And not rinsing the rice? Lol! This is so American tutorial trying to cook Asian food wagahhshaahhw!!!!😂😂😂😂

I love this recipe. It is my absolute favorite, although sometimes I use raw shrimp instead of chicken thighs.

I would add vegetables to the rice or simply substitute veggies for rice.
I wouldn't add to top for fear of burning. Thanks!
What that just a beaten egg or was anything added prior? Thank you for the wonderful video
Looks like another meal I'll have to try. Food looks delicious, great idea/spin on jazzing up the rice too!
Best kitchen item I ever brought 😅😊😂

Would this work the same with chicken bone in,skin on, breasts? I don't like the stronger flavor of thighs.

I like to cook chicken to 163. You could go to 160 and let it rest 3-5 mins. I prefer to be on the safe side so I do 163 with a short rest.
Would it help to cover with tin foil to protect the chicken or would that hurt the rice???

Rinse your rice till water is clear for much better results
.Not because of the results... it's because of the arsenic content in the rice
@@ykgina031205 yes & amen 🙏

He didn’t rinse it at all.

Speedi does not have a preheat button or anything. I just turn on airfry or broil a few minutes before putting food in.

Ours do in the UK, and it shows a PrE ( pre cook) then kicks into the timer, fantastic cooker.

Wonderful thankyou
Can you make this rice in a Pro Le 5 quart Cosori air fryer?
On the model before this(N Foodie), would steam/ bake work similar?
I can't see why not! Very similar. Let me know how it goes if you try it
Make sure you wash your thermometer after every time you test... you don't want to spread bacteria from when it was not properly cooked to your perfectly cooked chicken!
looks soooo delish!!!!
Can you use the Speedi as a rice cooker? (no other ingredients)
Yes
Looks good! Are you in a GD MK model? We had a 2670 before we got our Alliance Valor.
I’m thinking on taking Amazon’s offer of £129.00 for this. Good deal? Bad deal?
Sounds like a decent price for a Speedi.
I use my ninja Speedi everyday.
Shrimp fried rice, tilapia, chicken wings , spagetti and meatballs
Cool, share your time frame/game plan for the spaghetti and meatballs?
Can I put the chicken to bottom ?or at least to the top in a air fryer silicone pan instead of letting that chicken juice drop ?

I don't know why not... my OL 401 (and the 601/701) has pretty much the same settings as the Speedi.
You can do it on Steam and crisp, I think that’s the same programme as the speedi meal.
Can I ask if u use ninja speedi with steam and ActiFry can u do joint of beef on this programme please
You could do joints of meat on steam and crisp, which is the one below the speedi one, but the roast programme is good also.
