Great part 1 of the build and cant wait for part 2 of the software and different OS's. Have you thought of something like Tiny Core Linux or Free Dos with all the CF cards you have. That case is similar to the two I have(one with a 486 and one empty) but the 3.5 in the middle and one extra 5.25 both from my old High School's BA class room and when in my computer repair class they would say the computer wouldn't boot and when we went to fix the computer they would be in the OS and the problem was they saved all thier work on floppy disk and not the hard drive and their computer won't boot was their floppy disk was no good. Our Computer Repair class could never understand them. Also did not help their computers were 486SLC's 40Mhz but really was a 386 on crack and steroids. Anyway great video.
That’s exactly why I got so many CF cards, so I can install many different OSes and run them whenever I need to. I have heard of both Tiny Core and freedos, but they aren’t in the next video because I already edited it. I probably should make another video of installing non-Microsoft OSes on this machine though. I have heard of a lot of people getting old computers from schools. When I was in elementary school they were throwing away probably 10 Pentium 2 era systems and their CRT monitors, I really would have grabbed one, but I was 9, and my parents would probably not be very pleased with me randomly bringing home a computer.
@@tentimesfriday That would be sweet seeing the other OSes as well I got lucky when my teacher was throwing out those cases my Senior year in 1998 and I also got a DTK peer 1630 case as well but it was also empty and no power supply and now have it modified to fit a standard baby AT power supply and I have to get what are small rubber cube squares they make that are sticky on one side so you can mound the MB where their is not mount hole and screw the board in place. I think the site link I sent you on your 486 build sells them but can't remember. If not I am sure they have them on ebay and if not I bet a standard pink school eraser cut into small cubes would work. Have good one and thanks again for the upload.
Like your style.

Good ol' Clint lurking wherever there is an old computer 😎
He is right though, neat video!
bro, i've been reading ur site lately, and I want to know, where you got that ASi 486 motherboard? I'm in Uruguay by the way. Cheers!
Hey that's awesome! I got the system from Craigslist in 2020. In 2021 I moved the motherboard to another case but I haven't made a video on it yet.
