Cracking and Archiving Old iOS Apps
มุมมอง 1.1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Today, one guy with little to no technical iOS knowledge attempts to rescue apps from 3 different devices, and as many iOS 6 apps as possible just days before 6's App Store shut down, and to install them all onto one iPad, the Nostalgia-Pad Pro. Warnings: This video may be cringe if you are an experienced app archivist I still don't know if flexdecrypt actually worked on iOS 9.3.5. But I cracke...
Installing an SSD in a 2006 MacBook Pro [420]
มุมมอง 4606 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my video for 4/20 to fill in for the king of SSDs. This video is actually lackluster but the point is to fill a gap in the modern TH-cam tech space, you don't need expensive hardware, lights, cameras or a studio. Just put it on the floor and point a camera at it. Today we install an SSD into the 2006 MacBook Pro (you didn't know I had one, did you?), AND into a 2010 Mac Mini (you defini...
The Sixteen Terabyte* File Server
มุมมอง 5K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
(Filmed Oct 2023) The most insane budget file server gets an upgrade. Every file you've ever created, saved or downloaded, at the click of the mouse (on Everything Search). The 16 (erm ackshually its 14TB due to formatting and less due to proper raid setup) File Server. Since the windows search sucks, I ALWAYS use a search program called "Everything", which pre-indexes the entirety of all your ...

READ THE DESCRIPTION: This video is by no means a tutorial, and is for entertainment purposes only. If you want a more serious overview of this card and surrounding capture setup, I'll be releasing a page on my website soon enough. The Macintosh Performa 6290CD Experience
มุมมอง 3602 ปีที่แล้ว
Without ever using a Classic Mac, or knowing anything about them at all, I randomly bought a Mac that happened to be from the worst line of PowerPC Macs ever. Let's try it out! Also this video has no music. Um whatever, new videos coming soon. (by soon, I mean 7 months) sorry for long video, most problems are caused by me not knowing how to use Classic MacOS, and not the computer itself

The Wi-Fi Equipped Retro Network
มุมมอง 3763 ปีที่แล้ว
I have several old computers that only have Ethernet, and I wanted them to be able to connect to the internet, and to file shares etc. Well the main WiFi router is on the other side of the house, so THAT won't work. Presenting, my hack job of a solution! For this setup, you need any computer connected to WiFi that also has an unused Ethernet jack. In Control Panel on Windows, find the "Network ...
Windows For Workgroups Networking
มุมมอง 3114 ปีที่แล้ว
Video recorded Oct 10, 2020 I thought this would be more difficult. Also the audio randomly cuts out at the end of the video, but pretty much it works and it can be used for transferring files, playing games and browsing the internet (maybe). Also, after recording this video, networking directly to windows 10 just randomly started working.

มุมมอง 2174 ปีที่แล้ว
I try Windows Vista because it's the only Windows OS I haven't used (at least in the past 10 years). I also made this video because I wanted something to upload before the 486 exploration and DOS Machine videos. (up next!!!!) Conclusion: windows vista is just old windows 7 but more unstable and it would probably work if there were good drivers for it.

I’m glad there are still people who’s into older iOS devices, I also didn’t know about the AppStore Passcode thing cause I have a iPhone 6 Plus on 8.1.3 and I have a few iOS games I still play today one being Surviving High School. If only you could still play it on current devices. But good work love your content. I have like 20 iPhones on different iOS versions. I might sale them though. You got a new subscriber
Yeah in my opinion Apple should've added 32-bit app compatibility layer on newer devices instead of just making hundreds of thousands of old apps unusable. That's an impressive collection too! if you have any on really low iOS versions they'd be worth a lot. Thx for watching and subscribing too!
i had a few apps on my old ipad 2 before it got lost, like a really old version of bike race from 2013 and some really underrated game called 'Boom!' , wish i had it so it could be jailbroken lol

Update: The apps will be uploaded once archive.org returns (sending thoughts and prayers) Update2: It's been back for a while! But my account @arandomuser1 has simply vanished into thin air. Trying to work it out with support but they're very busy!
i am now on an ipad my life is complete 😎

Yes ! you win $1 dollar!
The flash drive probably didnt work because of the file system , win 95 supports fat16 and a limited version of fat32. Its probably formattted wrong.
video straight outta 2015, and i love it XD
bro, i've been reading ur site lately, and I want to know, where you got that ASi 486 motherboard? I'm in Uruguay by the way. Cheers!
Hey that's awesome! I got the system from Craigslist in 2020. In 2021 I moved the motherboard to another case but I haven't made a video on it yet.
man i LOOOOVEEEE the jankyness and low budget of this video
where did you get the wallpaper form
Hey sorry for the late reply but I don't remember exactly where I got it. Its a modified version of the foxkeh.com April 2007 wallpaper. I still have the file so I uploaded it here: ibb.co/wsR5ytm
This video feels like a lost Druaga1 video lol
Very cool contraption. I managed to throw something similar together in an old eMachines with the most miserable single core Athlon 64, 2GB DDR2 and a 2x10GbE SFP card. Tossed in a Toshiba 16TB and Whitelabel 4.9TB HDD for a total of ~20TB. Runs Windows Server 2016 Core. I'm sure the Core2Duo runs circles around it but this is enough for my needs. Handles a local only SQL/.NET web archive and some games now that everything is CGNAT'd all to hell these days. Runs the iSCSI backend for all my Steam and Epic libraries. Handles the ingest for file shares and long term photo, video, music, 3D model, ISO, emu, VM and book storage for everything I archive. Does all the extremely heavy lifting for always on Internet file shares. Boots from a 16GB flash key. The SFP is a feature of consequence since I lose network activity way more often than tolerable and 10GbE is a more than suitable bandwidth guarantee. Kind of surprised it works with this era of tech too. You might have the same favorable outcome with this.
WD GOLD are the Enterprise level disks. You can't get any better then those.
Quite refreshing to see a genuine classic style video in a sea of people trying to out-do each other from a technical production standpoint!
Hey druga 10 cool vid and R.I.P Dog
hey mate! great content u have, hope u doing well. I was viewing your website (soo cool btw) and in the photography section I saw some cool photos. Can I please use one of these for my Ubuntu MATE install?
Yeah of course! Thanks for checking out my site too
Horrible background music, I'd rather listen to the fans from your NAS ;) Btw; You shouldn't touch the connectors on the DIMM's, static electricity DO damage them that way !
GRRAHHH chiptune music is awesome!!!!! Also I don't have an esd strap but I do ground myself on my computer's power supply before moving ram sticks around, no issues yet but thank you for your concern
To be honest, I also recorded and downloaded a lot but mostly never watch them even once.

why are so many people inspired by druaga1?
cause he's awesome but doesnt upload anymore and i hate boring computers
This reminds me of drugal1 and seems like it came from 2008/2010 lol
That's not a lot of CDs / DVDs. I have two book cases full.
I dont really use optical media that much anymore so those were just the ones I had with me at the time. the rest are in the crawlspace but I was too lazy to get them out for 5 seconds of video.
You made me ask how old is this video,
this was filmed in October 2023 and edited in Feb 2024
@@tentimesfriday lol old windows old PC old screen, only thing that didn't exist back then was the 4 and 2 terabyte hard drives, I remember back then I was still on a 80 gig hard drive dreaming of one day having a 500gig
@@webbster64B yea lol I'm staying on windows 7 until software support is dead, then i'll finally go to linux full time. The Dell system has been upgraded lots over the years, it has an Asus H81M-C motherboard and Core i5 CPU but I've been using it since it was a Pentium 4 w/ Windows XP also w/ 80gb hdd. Im glad storage is cheap now, I get many 500GB/1TB hard drives by scavenging recycling bins for television DVRs
this vid and the camera angles remind me of druaga1 so much, pretty good video :33
5:38 or install extension called Folder Size. Unfortunately it works only with 2k or XP in explorer window, for Vista+ displays a little window near main window... but still is good
Thank you! I still use xp often so that will be nice but the popup window for Win7 is good to have!
Cool project :)
Better idea could be setting it as 2x4TB + 2x4TB in second NAS as backup.
you are blowing up rn.

There was an incident. (the incident being im so awesome they shutdown my site until the end of the month)
@@tentimesfriday sounds like a epic gamer moment
seems legit, reminds me my old old videos. did you mark ecc server memory as bad bc they didnt work on normal motherboard or they are bad like broken ?
I haven't gotten around to testing those 2 sticks in another motherboard but it's my guess as to why I got the mobo so cheap? The seller might've heard the beeps and assumed it was broken and sold it as "untested". Just my guess tho.
this video is liquid nostalgia
This is so retro, I love it.
yeah that is colossally stupid. You may have "backups" but how often do you sync changes from the raid array to the small discs? Unless you do this every day you will lose something. It's better to have a 12TB with fault tolerance than 16TB without. I used to screw around with half solutions until I lost an important project. I've run a raid server ever since. I have one raid array that is 10 years old. I've changed out every drive in it due to failure. But lost NO data. Didn't have to dick around with backing up to bare drives either.
Fair enough, I originally set this up in 2022 when I got the drives with no prior research (my original thought was that I would somehow end up actually using 16 tb for some reason). I usually back up during important projects otherwise just every week or so. I'll redo the raid setup later but for now thanks for your input.
Great thumbnail art dude!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, amazingly entertaining and useful! :D
Thanks! Maybe don't do a raid 0 tho l o l
windirstat for a easy to use space measuring lightweight software, or treesize, a more modern version of windirstat
Oh, thanks! I'll definitely start using those. I.Disk works but it's pretty clunky and really slow (it took about 10 minutes to run here)
i havent heard the soundtrack at 14:14 since a really old general sam video! great stuff love this man
This video feels like its from 2013 :) Amazing video and you have earned a sub!
