    I've lived in Russia and the US. I actually get happier when it starts snowing and going ice skating is my favorite thing ever. The only thing that depresses me is the lack of sunlight, the lack of vitamin D, which is not lacking in the winter at all actually.

    I lived almost 6 years in Russia , after my school directly joined medical University in Russia. I was 17 years old at that time. I graduated with krassni diplom and currently working as General practitioner in India. Part of me grew up there. Huge respect for the country. But yes , its not all fun and love always. There are all kinds of people everywhere including Russia. Being less populated makes it so good at the same time really scary sometimes. So you see two sides of coin. Racism is present. And it's real,safer for girls than boys. But then again girls have their own things. Where I studied is pretty peripheral than moscow- so may be could add to problems comparing to more developed areas like capital or Peterburg.
    Thank you for video all of you. Elena, everytime I watch your videos I go back to old times and get a glimpse of my undergraduate days i spent in Russia.

      @@Joker-2357 - Why on earth would anybody want to leave India and go and live in Russia? It is like asking somebody why did they not leave India and go and live in Nepal or Sri Lanka?
      Have you been to Russia? I have been, and can tell you that if you are a middle-class person in India, your life in Russia will be much worse. Life for the poor people in Russia is very hard. And on top of that you have the language difficulties, and the very cold weather. It is also a country that is declining economically, and does not have a bright future. But if you are poor in India and on a low income, then maybe you could have a slightly higher standard of living in Russia.

    • @Joker-2357
      @Joker-2357 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@stephenmani8495 u said Russia is equal level as nepal & sri lanka , lol.
      In those 2 countries an indian passport holder can enter with visa on arrival but in case of Russia its not.
      Just compare passport strength of russia with those 2 countries , u will get to see the difference.

    • @stephenmani8495
      @stephenmani8495 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Joker-2357 - Sorry, but your example has no logic. Visa on arrival does not mean anything. Let me give you another example. Indians can get 'visa on arrival' for Dubai - which is one of the richest countries in the entire world. By contrast, Indians need a prior visa for Sudan, which is one of poorest countries in the world. That does not mean Sudan has a stronger passport than Dubai! 'Visa on Arrival' arrangements mostly depend on the agreements between Governments. It has nothing to do with the strength of the passport.
      In fact, let me also tell you that the Indian passport is stronger than the Russian passport, because many countries do not even issue visas to Russians for visits. Also, many more countries offer 'visa on arrival' for Indian passports than Russian passports.
      I think the problem is many Indians (like yourself) seem to think that wherever there are white people, automatically that means their society is better than ours. Let me assure you that is not the case. I am an old man now, but have travelled to 43 countries. So, I speak from experience and personal observation - not some hearsay.
      Yes, some countries are better than India, but there are also many countries that are much worse than India. I have been to Russia, and I can tell you that outside of the major cities (like Moscow, St. Petersburg, etc.), many Russians are very poor, and live a very bad quality of life (particularly when you go to the rural areas, people don't even have running water, etc.). Safety is also a major issue. It would make no sense at all for an Indian to go and live in Russia, unless they get a really highly paid job in a major city like Moscow or St. Petersburg (and even then they will be outcasts because mainstream Russian society looks down upon Indians and Africans). Many Russians themselves are desperately trying to leave Russia and migrate to more prosperous countries with more opportunities.
      I can understand if an Indian wishes to migrate to more developed countries like the US, UK, Australia, Canada, etc., or even the richer Middle East countries like Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.. But to Russia?? Sorry, that does not make sense to me (unless of course you are extremely poor and deprived in India).

      @@stephenmani8495 as u said russian passport is weaker than india , its says u being biased towards India for patriotism .
      If u r claims r true Then why all passport strength index showing indian passport way weaker.
      Give me one example where it’s written that Russian passport is weaker than india 😏.
      Even 2 countries near india ,Vietnam& Thailand has way better visa policy for Russian passport holder compared to Indian passport holder.
      Study again about passport strength u will understand ,don’t get emotionally biased.

    An insightful and enjoyable interview. Eli is not steering him to uncontroversial topics, she is asking the difficult questions. That is such a rare thing which may have something to do with her still being young. I hope she is able to hold onto this quality because she will then remain the best version of herself. It will also be an asset professionally too.
    Also, this guy looks like a rockstar in his white suit with no shirt and shades. If that is how he dresses around Moscow, he must get all the girls...

    The most well known 19th century Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was of African roots. He was black but most of Russians know his poetry by heart. Racisms in Russia is a recent thing, narrowly related to soccer. This is western influence on Russian society. In 18th and 19th centuries, famous black noblemen lived in Russia and contributed a lot into Russian culture, military and engineering. Pushkin and his family would be an interesting topic for this channel.

      I have met a Jewish Russian he used to think he was a genius. He told me people who live in cold countries are intelligent. He was a horrible person. I used to believe in this theory. I used to believe that brain neural activity slows down in hot climate. People have right to believe in whatever they want. But they should not speak about these things with bad intention to pain people who are less advanced. But i realised slowly it is nonsense theory. I am not hundred percent sure if hot climate makes someone hopeless in math and engineering. I think mostly it depends on food. Wealthier countries they eat more nutritious food that is the reason they are ahead. There are so many malicious people on this planet who tell lies and promote lies. It is difficult to trust people. I lost faith that there is some honesty in this world. I see people tell such horrible lies. There is another type of people in this world who enjoy all the privileges and complain that they are discriminated. These people are as wicked as racists.

    Let me clarify. In Russian, there are two N-words. The word "negr" came from the Spanish word 'negro', and it means just a black man, with no bad connotation. And the word "nigger" came from the American slang, and is used as an exemplary of offensive word... but sometimes as a dubious joke or just markup for the rap community (Hi, Bro!!!). So, try not to loose the difference.
    After all, some Afro-American organization recognisid the Slav people as white-colored black persons. 😉

    about racism id say russians never did to black people what western countries did. i mean when we got Pushkin's ancestors who were black they were given a noble title by russian king tsar. and that was long long ago. same time much much later i suppose even till 1960s in europe people still had black people in cages at circus. and at netflix you will always see russians like wild tribes or acting like pirates. they never tell truth
