  • Rides with 10 or more excitement are usually pretty long, but they don't have to be. In this video we take a look at how short we can make a ride while keeping the excitement rating at 10 or higher.

A member of my Discord server (YoshiIsDead) has found a way to get an even shorter first lap on a triple launch coaster by using chain lifts as a booster. This wooden coaster is only 11 meters long (ignore the stats, I didn't bother building the rest of the ride): th-cam.com/video/ziQL4k3wVxY/w-d-xo.html. I wonder if there are any coaster types out there that can do this with an even shorter length.

This is done by pausing the game, then building with cheats, then unpausing, and editing out all frames where the pause button is pressed. The voice overs seems to be in a second round of editing. This is actually an high amount of effort Marcel Vos puts into this

    • @MarcelVos

Cool video! I was hoping on coasters without the extra stats from path, sync, deco and coaster parts. I hope you make a followup video with those restrictions in mind :)

I don't even play the game but I've been binge watching these videos.
Either something is wrong with me or these videos are just too damn entertaining !!

I know this is a bit off topic for the video, but I was able to make a miniature railroad with an excitement of around 10.5 in OpenRCT2 using a powered launch of around 200mph, two laps, and a track length of around 3k feet. Plus scenery, but it took some balancing to achieve this. It's funny how the mechanics of some rides work when they are "stress tested"

ngl I was 100% a zoo tycoon kid, not rct, but I have binge watched almost every single video on this channel I think. it's just great to listen to someone passionate about what they're talking about even if it's something I would otherwise have never thought I'd have any interest in learning about. (doesn't hurt Marcel has one heck of a soothing voice lol :p)

What a great Video! Really enjoyed this you one, you make such great content :)
I'd really be interested in what the highest achieveable excitement rating in (Open)RCT might be. How high can it go? And I'd love to see a "ride rating explained" video. Cheers! :)

The highest achievable excitement rating is 327.67: th-cam.com/video/oVKAD0jCR-M/w-d-xo.html
I do plan on making a video about the excitement rating at some point (I've done intensity already), but it's quite a big topic.

The real coaster Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point is being converted from a hydraulic launch coaster into a triple launch coaster. it's being redesigned so it doesn't make it over the top hat on the initial launch, goes backwards, launched up a vertical spike, and then launched back towards the top hat and makes it over.
