Man,I didn't know about Jeff’s death until today because of what you said. This is absolutely sad news of the new year ... and I just can't believe even Jimmy page would live longer than him….wish him rip....
When two giants from such different backgrounds, but with such immense versatilty and mutual respect decide to regale us with SUPER - stition. Stevie, standing up and leaving the piano after his final note, shouts "I LOVE YOU BROTHER!" A huge thanks to Stevie and Jeff for this gem jam. And MANY thanks to "Longie562". R.I.P. Inimitable Jeff Beck.
I wish so much that Stevie was a full time rocker with Jeff as his guitarist. That voice and songwriting with that guitar playing, what a band that would be.
Love Jeff Beck. Brilliant guitarist, who's sole focus seems to be creating Grade A music.. He seek fame, fortune. no scandals, scandal new stories, Just precise, spot on guitar work. Incredible guitar solo here
Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder, Amazing duet! Fantástico!🇧🇷JAN, 04, 2023. Thank tou só much for THIS Wondeful Performance! Anybody doesn't want once more POST? Come on, do It!
There's loads of great guitar players in this world all with there own touch and vibe but beck is on another level . He seems to have more colour and depth of field than most and for that we are all truly grateful
Early Beck...when he was at the beginning of his musical journey was not unlike others...he played what he knew...nothing special...the dedication to the instrument...and to the music he felt inside has brought him to where he is today. My favorite guitarist of all time...
You know I have a Martin 12 string and an Ovation 6 string. When I watch a video of Jeff Beck. Makes me want to go camping. I'll bet they would make a good campfire. . The dude is beyond believable.
EYYYYYYY, Vaya solo de Jeff Beck y con los dedos este hombre toca sin pua , tremendo Jeff, ya versioneaba Superstition desde la epoca de Jeff Beck Group en 1972 , tremendo Jeff
From the 'Did you know" file: Superstitious was written (by Stevie) FOR Jeff Beck in 1972. Apparently Jeff created the drum part which Stevie actually played, and did a number of guitar tracks on 'Talking Book'. Berry Gordy pressured Stevie's release of the tune before Jeff could do it with BBA in late 1973. These guys really complement each other brilliantly!
I've watched this clip a few times, but just now realized maybe Jeff put on shades for this to match Stevie. We have the *real* blues brothers here. ;-)
…and the studio version- on the eponymous ‘BB&A’ album- is possibly the heaviest piece of rock’n’roll out there. Compare and contrast with his ‘Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers’. A true master of his instrument.
Beck and Stevie are old friends. Stevie wrote a sad love song in 1974 called "Cause we Ended as Lovers..." and asked Jeff to lay down a guitar track. Jeff played it to Stevie as a heart ripping instrumental, and Stevie said "That's it". He gave the song to Beck who released it on his Blow by Blow album, and it has become one of Beck's signature
I think Stevie actually had Jeff in mind for playing guitar on this song too, as it's the one instrument he doesn't feel he's good enough to play on record, and he wrote something with Beck envisioned as the songs guitarist. Unfortunately contractual obligations meant Jeff Beck wasn't available when Stevie was recording so it didn't happen, but this performance is what Stevie Wonder envisioned we were always meant to hear, so it's so great seeing it happen.
What can anybody say? Just sit back, enjoy and get blown away by the majesty of Mr. Stevie Wonder and the incomparable Jeff Beck! Superstition has to rank as one of the funkiest rock songs of ALL TIME!
Beck's an Old School English Guitar musical GENIUS along with his peers Clapton, and Peter Green, Jimmy Page etc and the other literal Geniuses of their day.. He just happened to survive and kept developing and developing his craft and unique techniques like Hendrix might have done (had he been alive longer).. Beck kept that similar trail blazing to Jimmy and developing on the strat!! (you can't teach or learn what he does!) It's why Clapton admires him aswell as being his mate! Same can be said for SRV again too short lived but so unique! ... This video right here prime example of two musical "geniuses" both really more jazz than anything else, in terms of genres for both Stevie and Jeff, as they're so diverse and non conformist/unique Just jamming out! love it.. 👍🎸😎🏴🇬🇧
Jeff Beck actually came up with the drum beat for this tune with Stevie when they were recording projects at the same studio. So he’s got a special connection to this tune
Stevie came up with the riff for this song when he walked in on Jeff Beck messing around on drums, at a time when they were collaborating on some material. It was originally supposed to be for Jeff & Stevie to record & put out jointly, but Stevie's Motown management loved the tune & told him he had to release it on his own (Jeff beck 'Crazy Fingers' biography by Annette Carson, page 112).
So many different languages this guy has given us. I still listen to the "original version" every so often when I need my fix. Stevie was allegedly polite enough to contact mr Beck to ask if he minded doing his own song after it never really charted for B B an A.
Peter Yianilos Man, that is SO true! My first guitar was a Strat copy, my second was a Fender Strat, in ‘73. Nobody, but nobody, plays like Mr. Jeff Beck. He is as a God to me, musically. And hot rod-wise, of course. 😎
I heard Jeff came up with the main part to this song when he was jamming with Stevie and he gave it to Stevie, and Stevie turned it into a whole song. Paul Mccartney did that with Bad Finger with Come And Get It in the early 1970's. I could see Jeff coming up with a part like that. And he's the guy Stevie chooses to help here live. thanks for showing.
So Jeff Beck was going to release the song first, with Stevie's Ok. But the album got delayed and Mowtown records though that it would be the hit of Stevie's new album. Stevie felt bad for Jeff and let him record Cause We Ended as Lovers, an absolutely masterpiece by Beck.
RIP Jeff. This shows his versatility, sense of fun and musical brilliance.
Man,I didn't know about Jeff’s death until today because of what you said. This is absolutely sad news of the new year ... and I just can't believe even Jimmy page would live longer than him….wish him rip....
@robsmith... +1 .. Copy that.. " This shows his versatility, sense of fun and musical brilliance." .... One of the greats! RIP J. Beck
@@陳先生-b8i * Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons!!! lolol
Jeff plays/solos, the band smiles, the energy kicks up a notch, they're all locked to the vibe, he plays just enough and just right...RIP Jeff!
I've long been a fan of Stevie Wonder's version, but with Jeff Beck there's a whole new dimension to this song.
You're right, sir. It was unreal! Jeff Beck took it to a whole different level! Love some SW, but this was off the chain, and he made look so easy!
Stevie Ray Vaughans version aint too shabby either
Look up the history of this song, Jeff Beck and Stevie wrote this song in 1972 very interesting stuff.Jeff Beck is King
Amazing perfomance by the one of the greatest ever rock guitar player in this planet,Jeff and of course genius Stevie !
When two giants from such different backgrounds, but with such immense versatilty and mutual respect decide to regale us with SUPER - stition. Dio mio, il solo di Jeff!!!! Ho i brividi dappertutto ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So insanely good.. the way he never overpowers the melody. and just totally rips it.
Any genre, any key, any style-Beck is the guitar master.
That's already one the best solos I've heard in years!!
Any genre, any key, any style-Beck is the guitar master.
Jeff Beck super cool !!!
I love Jeff Beck.
Love Jeff Beck. Brilliant guitarist, who's sole focus seems to be creating Grade A music.. He seek fame, fortune. no scandals, scandal new stories, Just precise, spot on guitar work. Incredible guitar solo here
I like how he says “do you thing, son” while actually Jeff is older ;))))
Probably the most under appreciated guitarist ever
Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder, Amazing duet! Fantástico!🇧🇷JAN, 04, 2023. Thank tou só much for THIS Wondeful Performance! Anybody doesn't want once more POST? Come on, do It!
Two great musicians together, They are so good, Jeff is the king of strings, Wonder has a powerfull voice, great!
+Richie Metal yeeas
Exactly
oh my lord.....jeff beck muscles that guitar like no one else. My favorite guitarist.
THE NUMBER ONE funk-soul-groove in the world. Everyone on stage, pure fuuuuunk.
WOW! Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder "Superstition" 2009. WOW! I'm a HUGE fan!
Jeff wrote the drum parts of the song and routinely played it live with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice
There's loads of great guitar players in this world all with there own touch and vibe but beck is on another level . He seems to have more colour and depth of field than most and for that we are all truly grateful

Jeff Beck, the greatest electric guitarist ever, not just for now.
I like the way the bass player stares at jeff during the solo!
He can't believe it!
yes
Sorry, I meant to say the rhythm guitarist
Stevie and Jeff, perfect collaboration of music gods.
Totally awesome with live horns, Jeff, and the great Stevie Wonder doing one of the most innovative songs ever!!!!!!

John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin fame, got inspiration from the keyboard intro in Superstition and made the song Trampled Under Foot.
Correct.
I've watched this clip a few times, but just now realized maybe Jeff put on shades for this to match Stevie. We have the *real* blues brothers here. ;-)
And instead, Stevie gave Jeff 'Cause We've Ended As Lovers' for the Blow By Blow LP.

I like this
Jeff Beck still lives…. Timeless.
It's understood that you don't know anything; you made that abundantly clear.
amazing the pipes that Stevie Wonder still has.....Jeff Becks awesome guitar playing was just icing on the cake....
Being alive and really FEELING it, just can't get any better than this!
Legendary. Beck did the best cover of Stevie’s song. Mixing it here is spectacular.
Stevie Wonder wrote this song for Jeff Beck in 1972! Before Jeff could record it, Berry Gordy talked Stevie into recording it!
I'm so sad that this wonderful guitarist is no-longer with us.
WHERE HAVE ALL THESE GROOOVES GONE..LONG TIME PASSING..*!

Yes, Jeff Beck is listed in the credits of "Songs in the key of life"
Que porrada!!! Já assisti 15 vezes a todo volume!!!
Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck, AMAZING! 🇧🇷AUG, 04,2022
Pour un morceau de musique qui est vraiment sublime un duo avec Jeff & Stevie restera unique ( une légende)

Great combo!!!!
Love this music with Jeff and Stevie Wonder. Great music....great Jeff and Stevie.....a good combination
And i love the brass section!
This is awesome. Music is wonderful, especially when played like this.
Something about cross-genre musicians, collaborations and unlikely covers just make me go weak at the knees...
monumental.
素晴らしい! このコラボレーションをUPしてくれた方 感謝します。

I love that Stevie is wearing a studded collar! All Jeff’s tank top…… icons
Jeff Beck actually came up with the drum beat for this tune with Stevie when they were recording projects at the same studio. So he’s got a special connection to this tune
My best moment was when Jeff cranked up the guitar as he activated that electric smile.
this is awesome.....what a good collaboration. 2 kings of the music world

The Fender Stratocaster speaks a different language in the hands of Jeff Beck.
So many different languages this guy has given us. I still listen to the "original version" every so often when I need my fix. Stevie was allegedly polite enough to contact mr Beck to ask if he minded doing his own song after it never really charted for B B an A.

various diferent languages
Peter Yianilos are you the recording engineer?
Steve F I am a recording engineer.
I love his smile at the end of the solo. RiP Jeff
. . . Another good example of how Jeff Beck is STILL mopping up the floor with most the younger top rock guitarists of today . . .
Jeff's smile is quite good after of the guitar solo
Awesome ...love Beck & Wonder together!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, NO-ONE uses a whammy better than Jeff Beck RIP 🎸
I agree Jeff Banks is a guitar god. Love that rendition, superb.
Aileen Brennan well, you know Jeff Beck has written it originally, don’t you ?
@@nazarenkodenys He hasn't. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superstition_(song)
Doesn't get any better than this, The writers Unite. Incredible!
最高です♪ブラボー!
Its a Jeff Beck riff superstition! Stevie heard it at a rehearsal and used for this song!
That is true, he did get that riff from Jeff Beck!
OMG so good Jeff Beck you are God bless ya sweetie

La orquesta mmmmm !!!!! ...
It really doesn't get any better than this.
Jeff Beck の前に出すぎないこのギター!!最高!!

If Stevie was #1, he's still underrated.
This is how masters of their craft do.
Jeff Beck maestro ‼️Thank You 🥇👑

Stevie Wonder is a fuckin' instiTUtion! And Jeff Beck... man... a burst of anarchic brilliance. Great arrangement. Just tight!

There is cool and then there is Jeff Beck. There is greatness and then there is Jeff Back..
Well said. If it sounds good to you and gets your heart thumping then that's all that matters. Music is an intensely personal thing.
