Tycho smashed it with this board, really sets the tone perfect. With the effects from your sponsor used to great effect too. Imagine nurgle did get its grasp on that board though would be quite disgusting but beautiful 😊
Hey guys, great game! A few minor snafus on the rules that can be caught for next time: Krak grenades and Meltabombs are actually melee weapons, and can't be thrown; and Reactions can only be done once per phase, additional allotments allow for a different reaction to also be used. This stops you from doing Hold the Line or Overwatch more than once per phase. (There are some rules/pieces of wargear that circumvent this, such as auspexes/augury scanners allowing you to do the Interceptor reaction multiple times! Heresy is my favorite system, and it was great to see your guys' next foray into it in such spectacular fashion, and it's always a pleasure to see Dave on the channel! Edit: Another one that came up during our 30k games tonight (We're running a narrative escalation league): Vehicles without a WS characteristic are always hit on 2s in melee. (They have WS1 unless they are immobilized, in which case they have WS0 and are always hit, I believe.)
Oh my lord, this was by far the most fun batrep of you guys I have seen. Who cares if you got rules wrong, the joy and aiming for fun rather than to win bleeds out of every second. Please do this more often. Heresy supports your style of narrative, fun games so much more than modern, competitive 40k
More 30K, great system, great narrative leads to fun games. More interesting lists and, since it’s not designed to be as competition focused, more interesting/ random crazy situations pop up.

Would love to see more 30k on here! slight clean up on rules and being mindful of the games no railings for balance would come over time. As you saw, Russ is unhinged and only really matched by Ferrus(oddly) and Horus himself.

Hi play on peeps, im brand new to warhammer and I love the videos you put out, i have no idea what faction I would want to play but watching these videos does help me get and idea on who I'd like to play, I like Ad Mech, and Necron so far I've also been watching lore videos to try and place everything in the universe but again love the content and would love to see more Ad Mech play the Necroms on the channel are deadly!
I know I am late to the game but... This is easily one of your best BR, much more so for a 30k in general. All the duels and characters really told the story of the game!
Burning of Prospero is a story we have always wanted to bring to life and are so happy we could. It was a lot of hard work and took a lot of resources and hopefully we take that learning and that paves the way for more narrative games like this in the future.
Great battle report, thoroughly enjoyed it. A little loose with some rules like the Raptora Prosperine arcana that requires an enemy to be within 12” to use or throwing a melta bomb. It didn’t detract from the game though. 30k is my jam and I was painting up Space Wolves (I already have a large TS force) as I watch. Would love to see more Heresy content!

As someone who owns around 6k points of wolves, I pronounce Leman Russ the way that keeps getting 'corrected'. Didn't think it would actually bother people at all, but obviously grates on the other three here. lol
Honestly, i love the 40k in 40mins and i think this is also the best Horus heresy battep I've seen! Love that it's still in the 40min style and it doesn't feel like it misses out at all!
Custodes and sister of silence in the lore: intimidating, extremely deadly, nearly unbeatable by any opponent Custodes and sisters in the tabletop: “run awayyyy” *sounds of sisters and Custodes being torn apart by basic bolter fire*

Just remember when fighting vehicles (except knights and titans) they count as having WS 1 so basically everything in the game hits them on 2's (unless they are immobilized in which case the hits are automatic). Also Leman russ is Fearless so him and his unit would automatically pass a leadership check to hold the line when Magnus and his unit charged in. When Leman russ and the lone bodyguard were hurt by the Spartan's explosion, the wound roll of 1 could have been allocated to the bodyguard model since Leman is a character.

This is my favorite 30k battle report - maybe overall favorite report - a re-enactment with proper armies on proper battlefield, big primarch fight on top of a pyramid - and that outcome?! Fantastic :) 30k is my favorite GW system at this point. Especially when played this way :)
what id really lopve to see from these guys, is 1 game of 40k from every single edition of the game, from rouge trader (with a game master), to 2e, and on, see them go though a trip down memory lane of all the editions

This is so fun. It seems like it's a lot more fighting than 40k 10th edition, I'd love to see a lot more of this on the channel! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time with my friend.

Tycho, this is probably the best terrain board ive seen for the heresy. Job well done and I would really appreciate more heresy! Need some World Eaters and Wordbearers slapping some Ultramarines.
Awesome game with great vibes, beautiful armies and an amazing table! hope to see more Heresy from you guys! Personally enjoy it a lot more then the newer editions of 40k. One rule note that I didn't see mentioned in the comments, is there is a rule that if a model has the character sub-type (which Primarchs have), it allows you to choose to not allocate wounds to characters, even if they've previously lost wounds; so the wound from the exploding spartan that "killed" Russ could have instead been allocated to the Terminator in his unit, killing him instead since its strength would have doubled the Terminator's toughness. That said, the ending of the game looked really fun as is, so game on! Looking forward to more themed Heresy content in the future.

There was a moment in A Thousand Sons during the battle of Prospero when a Tsons sorcerer kills a custodian jetbiker and thinks to himself how easy it was. Just like the dreadnought showdown in this battle!!!!
I loved this, and, yes, I definitely want to see more 30k matches. I would also love to see more custom battles like the one between the tyranids and the space marines, the Space Marines Must End the Tyranid Evolution, specifically.
