Had the potential for a great interview. Watched the entire thing despite the length, unfortunately interviewer does not ask hardball follow up questions when necessary. Most importantly, "what are the instruments of foreign influence and foreign aid your referring to" Ahmed claims vaguely that foreign reigns of power still exist in Afghanistan and haven't been divested from the country, but no specific example was given. Alot of America blaming, alot of Taliban apologetics, but very little actual explanation for what is going on right now.
I felt the same, mostly hypothetical answers and nothing factual. With all due respect to the guest, any one of us could've sat there and said I guess the Taliban are doing x,y,z but it's hard to say why they're doing x,y,z...
@@redjoggers he has no relationship with the taliban or the country itself other than his elders having lived there. He mentions vaguely at one point, extremely quickly in passing that his ancestors fought on the soviet side...all while blaming america for occupying a country which can not developed as long long as its occupied...I have no problem with this analysis, its his right to his analysis and on some level what he is saying makes sense, but is this what we call an expert? He is admitting right off the bat, that he is of the afghans who fled to america because they feared the taliban, and not only that but his family were of the anti-muhajadine faction. Afghani culture and heritage is extremely rich, generous to their guests and hospitable. You are frowned upon in Afghanistan if your home does not have a "guest quarter" which at times is more furnished than the main house itself. That being said, the ruling "Taliban" who rule in the name of "Shariah" are doing anything but that. Talk to your every day Afghani and they will tell you how sad it is that their sisters and mothers are suddenly forbidden from recieving an education, making an income or the men not growing their beards etc. This forcefulness or forbidding what Islam actually does not forbid, does the Taliban no favours as it is a common understanding in Islam that our blessed Prophet's beloved wife, Khadijah r.a worked and was a successful businesswoman. So it seems on the offset that the Taliban is acting not of the Hanafi fiqh but mostly through their cultural norms, even the Deobandis today will not forbid their womenfolk to work/educate themselves nonetheless the 1st generation Deobandis still hold that mindset and it may take a few generations before that thinking is no more. Allah knows best but it may also be a result of everything that they endured which has led them to become to harsh on their people as if to say the so called "western freedom" has failed, so lets try it our way.
He has overlooked so many details and cherry picking the events. Taliban as an organization did not exist until the soviets left. One of the main cause of civil war was Hekmatyar who is a renowned ISI agent, when all the other factions decided on power sharing, Hekmatyar was offered the position of Prime Minister and he refused saying that Afghanistan has to be ruled by a single person(this is on tape). Even Osama bin laden, who was his friend told him to go join your brothers later he changed his statement. Anyway years of civil war and Hekmatyar didnt achieve anything. Then Taliban entered the scene, initially they had Pakistani soldiers fighting amongst their ranks. The Mujahideen from my village initially allowed Taliban to enter the village and they themselves took refuge in the mountains. Their understanding was that Taliban are Muslim group so no need to fight, a week inside the village and they killed one of the Mullahs for no reason at all. This caused anger amongst the people and the Mujahideen came back and fought against the Taliban. Most of these Mujahideens were local farmers. They say that Taliban were really good in their artillery shooting accuracy, and you need proper training to get to that level not any farmer can just get behind an artillery weapon and shoot like a trained soldier, so it was obvious thay they were fighting Pakistani army, anyway then the Taliban were driven out of my village and the surrounding areas. Their so called founder "Mullah Omar" died in a military hospital in Karachi Pakistan. So you can see who was incharge. There is a lot more, this guy himself is Talib so definetly he will defene Taliban. I am familiar with this, even in my immediate family members there are Taliban. To any Muslim reading this, in the past 20 years Taliban targeted schools, busy market places, Mosques, and other civillian places. Their leadership claimed the responsibilities of all those attacks, its not me who is claiming that. Tell me, which part of Quran tells us to carry out attacks on civillians? Former chief of ISI of Pakistan(Gen. Hamid Gul) is the actual founder of Taliban, Mullah Omar was his puppet. Some of the countries involed in supporting Taliban throughout the decades are U.S, Pakistan, and Iran. Each for their own geopolitical goals.
You are munafiq. The invaders killed hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children.,who of course will be in paradise. Anyone who kills a believer, illegally, will be going to hell. Allah hears and knows all things.
What is this nonsense ? Afghanistan is not only Sunni Pashtun they have Persians, Hazaras, Ismailis and Uzbeks who will always fight against Taliban. It was never an Islamic Issue you will find many Persian Afghan women who killed by Taliban men.
What exactly are you referring to? Many "Persians" also fought for the Taliban. The northern parts which were traditionally anti-Taliban fell first this time and had Taliban uprisings.
@@lastword8783 Afghan society is not a homogenous society they are divided between different factions. 1) Sunni Pashtuns who are religious. 2) Sunni Moderates who were rulers. 3) Shia Persians who always sided with Iran. 4) Shia Hazaras who are persecuted. 5) Pamiri Badakshani Ismailis who live nearby Wakhan and Tajikistan. Now the conflict is very easy to understand Ahmad Shah Masaoud was killed by an Arab suicide bomber days before the U.S. Invaded Afghanistan 🇦🇫 we have no Idea why Ahmad Shah Masood who was a Persian in defeated warrior who love his enemies was killed by a so called Arab journalist from Egypt. Anyways to cut short Pashtun Talibans are not educated enough to understand global politics so they thought the whole conflict against Islam and got fooled into believing a global Jihad. However Persians understand that this is not a war against Islam and there wasn’t a single Afghan involved in any global terrorism.
I believe this brother is not giving a fare, unbiased, full and complete analyses of situation in Afghanistan. Taliban have lived far from civilization for over 20 yrs, most in the governing positions and almost all in the lower levels, have very minimal to zero education and suddenly have been handed a completely broken country to rule. Taliban should have refused to take over governing due to extreme lack of experience, knowledge and wisdom in governing a country!, Taliban also lack the fundamental knowledge of Islam as well, as we can see based on their actions in Afghanistan, in particular dealing with women !!!! Taliban version of Islam is NOT what our prophet PBUH taught us! We also need to stop blaming America for the failure in Afghanistan, America supported the war in Afghanistan against Russia and accepted thousands of Afghan refugees, the problem is NOT America !
Afghanistan was the very deadliest place for US imperialism and NATO colonialism for years but they gave up left without even claiming their own amunition which they used to bomb afghanistan for years 20 + years.
You have lost all credibility and integrity by inviting this person. The historical revisionism and detachment from reality can hardly be surpassed. Your predominantly South Asian audience may be impressed by the nonsense of this Pashtun ethnonationalist, but any reasonably educated person can see through the ridiculous claims and statements The comments show the precarious spiritual and intellectual state and decline of the Islamic community of South Asia, which is also reflected in the overall situation of their failed countries

Afghanistan will only prosper if it separates religion from the state
@@thomasthomasphilp4393 unfortunately, that will never happen. islam refuses to separate religion from governance. in fact the vast, vast majority of see islam as a form of governance.
are you a supporter of the taliban? of the imposition of sharia?
Afghanistan will prosper when the West does not impose measures to prevent them to prosper.
Separation of religion from state doesn't work in muslim countries. Just look at all the secular muslim countries like Tunesia. And we don't want muslim countries to end up as western societies where people are confused about what they are.

@Наиле Н.А the only education that is fardh is religious education. If the women learn that, then they are fine. They don't need more than that on a widespread scale. If they want to learn basic education (math, reading, history, etc.) that could be acceptable but a woman's role is in the house.

Then he makes vague statements about how we need to give the taliban a chance...thats all fine but he doesnt know anything special.

Now please get someone on who actually speaks for the millions of Tajik, Hazara and Uzbek Afghans who are being oppressed by the Taliban.
We also need to stop blaming America for the failure in Afghanistan, America supported the war in Afghanistan against Russia and accepted thousands of Afghan refugees, the problem is NOT America !
preach!
20 years of bombing and stealing their resources both mineral and money
And its not the fault of the Americans??? Are you delusional or American?
Afghanistan was the very deadliest place for US imperialism and NATO colonialism for years but they gave up left without even claiming their own amunition which they used to bomb afghanistan for years 20 + years.
What I can’t understand is why you are not in Afghanistan as a well read and intelligent man. Why don’t you offer your skills to the Taliban?
Exactly! This is the question to all Muslims who want khilafah. Including me 😭
