Thank you for this video. I had no idea I had to take the whole front end off the car! Thanks, Cadillac!

Love your accent. Appreciate the carefulness of removing grommets and nuts. I'm meticulous like that, too. Where the lights you removed faulty? If not, why not just wet sand, polish, and clear coat them? I'm too frugal to buy new lights for my '08 CTS 4.3 High Performance. I do have driver's side DRL light out, I hate it looking like that.

My lens was beyond wet sanding and polishing. Replacing was my only choice. I thank you for watching!👍🏽

Great video!!! Thank you for sharing. I purchased these same exact lights. When fully installed the top of the light housings do not butt up against the fender properly. All the bolts lined up correctly. I cannot be the only one who faced this issue as these should be made from the same molds. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem. I kept playing with it until it half way lined up correctly. It's still not perfect 😕

Really appreciate the quick reply. Glad to know I am not crazy. I too am settling on not perfect, just got the bumper cover back on. Seriously, your video was by far the best on the subject matter. Thanks so much. Have a great day sir

I ordered a plug and play headlight and the original lights have a Balis in them the one I ordered did not have it will it still work?

If your headlights have a metal box, then your car is equipped with HID headlights and will not work with regular headlights. HID headlights are considerably more expensive but many think they are better.

A word to the wise here!
For those 2 piece black plastic, round clips shown being removed from 1:40 to 3:20, you really don't need to completely remove and separate the top, round center button piece from the bottom, larger base piece! Also, using the plastic pry tool for both steps instead of a screwdriver for the first step makes it less likely that you will damage the black plastic clip when trying to pry up the top center piece. They can break fairly easily in the cold. It's a big annoyance if you break one (or more) and then don't have another to replace it when you're putting everything back together.
When pulling up the top, round center button piece don't yank on it. It might break. Do it slowly. If both halves of the clip start to pull up together then STOP and use something to hold down the bottom larger half while pulling up the top half. It should come out pretty easily.
Also, it looks like there are different sizes of that type of clip being removed in this video.
These 2 piece plastic, round clips comes in many different sizes and types and figuring out which size and type to buy when you're in an auto parts store (where they're ridiculously expensive or on eBay where they are the cheapest, by far) will be maddening because some of them look almost exactly like some of the others.
Using the plastic pry tool, you can just partially pull up the top, round center button piece (as shown in this video) and then use the plastic pry tool again to get underneath the bottom, larger base piece and pry both pieces out of the mounting hole together. This keeps both pieces of the round clip together.
When putting everything back together and reinstalling the clips, make sure the top piece is pulled out sufficiently from the bottom piece to allow you to squeeze the fingers of the bottom piece together enough so they fit and can be inserted all the way into the mounting hole. After it's in the hole and seated, just push the center button all the way in.
Harbor Freight sells 5 piece sets of plastic pry tools (Trim And Molding Tool Set ) at a decent price but you can find larger 11 piece sets on eBay really cheap if you go through the listings.
There's nothing like having the right tool when you need it.

      @@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 You're more than welcome.
BTW, I didn't mean to imply that my comment was directed at you. It wasn't. You obviously know what you're doing and your way of removing those plastic clips looks like it works for you.
My comment was more directed at those who might not have done it before. If you don't have the right feel or the right touch it's sometimes too easy to break the heads off those plastic clips and then they're a huge pain in the neck to remove PLUS finding exact replacements is also a time consuming pain in the neck.
If you break off the top round cap leaving the center part in the bottom half of the clip, you'll have to somehow get underneath the bottom half and push out the broken off piece before you can remove the bottom half.
That's why you have to do it carefully if you've never done it before. Believe me, I've broken them before and it could make you crazy!!!
It really is a damn good video.
