How about the moment at the beginning of the movie where the solder yanks the last living (and limping) solder OUT of a vehicle to say “we got to get out of here” and they run into the desert instead of getting into the truck to make their get away?
To be fair he was in the driver seat and was super confused about everything so I would've pulled him out as well. Plus they wouldn't have been able to get away anyway even if they had tried to drive

@Rōnin true enough. When my aunt was going into labor her husband got so freaked out, despite preparing beforehand, that he almost left her at home. He had started the car and packed wtv they were gonna need at the hospital and started driving away before he realized she was still in the house.
Yeah. That was the first major fail in that movie. I do understand that the situation is unexpected but isn't that what a soldier is trained to handle? If they were ambushed by some guerrillas, would they also then just start running instead of hopping into the car, pushing the injured to the shotgun seat and floor it? Then the next fail was the gangsta woman who was clearly not overwhelmed to the point of no return but the others just stood there doing nothing until there were too many zombies to fight. At one point she was on her back shooting the zombies and her friend could have easily moved the zombies down, allowing her to escape. It was such a badly written and executed scene that it left a bad aftertaste that continued to bring down the rest of the movie.
And why they arrange the cargo vehicle they protected in front? What those two heavy armored vehicle doing at the back? And the driver just keep chatting knowing a car was going to ram them. When I saw these amateur mistakes, I already worry that this probably a stupid, no logic movie and it turn our my worry was right. I was fooled by its trailer.

I thought about that scene and it looks like the US military was purposefully sending soldiers into the heart of Las Vegas to keep the zombies focused there while they ring fence the city. Pretty much the only time I will defend the film.

The Mexican chick raised her hand when asked "who hasn't killed a zombie" then we go n get a John wick scene of her massacring 50 zombies????? Like wtf
she was literally fighting for her life. thats the least of the concerns you should have watching the whole sequence. lets start from the fact that she switches positions with Martin cuz she thinks he is suspicious and she wants to keep an eye on him. and she instantly loses sight of him and he traps her leading her to the wrong way. after (probably the best sequence in the movie) she miraculously escapes keep shooting and fighting... while her friend Guz (and the rest of the gang which we can clearly see them moving in the background) is just watching her fighting for her life and he doesnt even think about helping her. 0 shots shot. Not until she finally gets swarmed and bitten multiple times , only then Guz decides to pull the trigger to shoot her gas tank and blow them up.

Here, I feel like Zack Snyder was just narcissistic. This movie feels like a monument to himself. This is 300% Zack Snyder in every take. And I think every director needs some criticism from his team, someone who keeps him from going too far. It feels like here no one did.
Chambers has a badass shootout scene by herself and then finally gets out with her friend and it’s jumped by like 5 zombies and her friends just stare and watch her die while armed to the fucking teeth lol. That was the worst part of the movie for me just because she went through all that to end up in a bigger space with less zombies around her and her friends are there just to watch her die.
I think the one thing that is right up there with that is how the daughter not knowing if geeta is in the other casino decides im gonna go in there and look for her and lets just say by chance she was right about her friend being alive wtf was her plan knowing a nuke is coming in less than 10 minutes and everyone else is leaving inna helicopter

That bothered me so much. I was expecting her to die immediately and then was impressed with the action scene but then immediately broke my suspension of disbelief when the best shooter in the crew had so much time to save her but just watches her die before they crowded on her. Between the time she broke through the window and got crowded he just cries and stares at her

For a movie this long I expected many more cool scenes around Vegas' and the required team chilling on a barricaded casino, but nope. Feels like half of the time was spent on the entrance, narrow bland corridors and the very basic vault. For such a colourful cool intro the movie sure gets bland later on.
@@SlimeBlueMS Right, they didn't really take advantage of the location, it felt Vegas was just a gimmick to have neon colors for the promo art and trailer lol. The movie reaaally needed to get to Vegas earlier so it could at least show various key locations, not bland tunnels. And needed more group banter/camaraderie /trying to survive as a team, not just the 1on1 isolated dialogues. There's all the other sub-plots they completely ditched too, getting us curious about the vault, about the zombie hierarchy, about the villain's true motives when there's no real twist whatsoever lol.
The film should have opened with an ordinary heist (except high stakes and violent) in a casino and had it just happen to coincide with the zombie apocalypse in Vegas. Then have the heist members start turning on each other as they try to flee the city.

I agree with everything they said, Zack knows how to be a visionary director and do cool amazing action but has not a clue when it comes to writing a screenplay.
I have an extremely low opinion of Snyder as a writer, so when I saw he was writing the film I went in with cellar-level expectations. I just turned off my brain and tried to have a good time. I enjoyed the take on the zombies, and enjoyed some of the action. It was about what I expected: dumb fun, don't think about it; like, at all.
I don't think he is a visionary because he's been doing the same thing for almost 2 decades now. You'd think he'd learn from his mistakes and want to grow as a director, but NOPE.

Release the Snyder cut another 4 hour movie digging deep into the characters their lore backstory plot holes being explained like how Van got out and how the vault was unlocked from the inside once I started watching the movie and as soon as the daughter was coming along I knew it was over for the team

Why didn't the business guy just lead with "I need a smart zombie head" and then when the team say no, he throws in "there's $200 million in a vault" as a tempting offer and then the heist part is their idea, along with getting the zombie head. Makes more sense than what we actually got...

It's assuming that people in zombie movies know of zombies, like it wasn't something from their "fiction coming to life." Like, we know zombies aren't real, unless it was something "zombie-ish," but something real would be something that wouldn't be predicted (like a virus where people randomly combust when fucking raw meat with psychic ghosts in them, or some bullshit).
Snyder missed the potential of the movie. He should have made action packed "shaun of the dead" style zombie comedie with Deadpool style over the top jokes and action. Just drop the drama and go all over the top fun.

How come the zombies couldn't escape from Vegas? They put up a wall of several containers, but that zombie leader was standing on the damn Statue of Liberty replica, which looked higher than the container wall. This movie has no logic.
I think the explanation is supposed to be that the Zombies don't want to leave because it is their kingdom and the Alphas are satisfied with that. But of course like everything else in the movie it isn't explained directly or well.

The trope is either there's a character that is to evil for their own good or a character that is to good for their own good . Dave's daughter was too good for her own good , her righteous choices lead her demise. It's a common trope in movies .

This movie pisses me off. The set-up is good - a heist movie in a city full of zombies? Nobody trusts each other? Extremely limited time? Intelligent zombies? It had so much potential... and then they just turned it into a family-drama sitcom with zombies. Take away Kate and Geeta and the movie is automatically better (not good, but better). Actually show people trying to betray one another and display visible distrust between the heisters as they attempt to maintain some form of shaky alliance in order to survive and actually walk out of there with money? It becomes good. Make the film an 30 mins - an hour longer to give more time for these things to fester and develop? It would have been great. EDIT: Can we also talk about the Head of Security for a second? Once he got the zombie head, why didn't he just... leave? The place where that whole encounter occurs is the exact same place where the group first entered Vegas. If the head was his real goal, why didn't he just take it and pass back through the container they had entered through before? Surely he'd be able to arrange to have a car or something waiting for him to make sure he gets out of nuke range.
They took quite a few from Aliens and other movies. The standout scene was the woman stabbing the zeds and eventually opening fire ala Alien hive scene.
3 minutes in, AJ described my thoughts exactly while watching the film. I wanted to like it so much more. They set up a cool concept with the zombie nation and didn't utilitize it in favor of stupid (badly done) family drama.
Hell I can have fun with the family drama mess. The opening scene of movie did give u the Vive is z nation. An if he actually stuck to that this would been better movie. Hell get rid of bartista an bring in Bruce Campbell an some other comedic actors an this movie would been great

Amazed me out Bautista’s character got bit and turned into a zombie moments after. But the other guy got bit, waited like... an hour to escape with the money, traveled from Nevada to Utah, got a plane, got that plane to fly from Utah to New Mexico and only as they was landing he realised he was about to turn
hm, well the Bautista character was much more fucked than that other guy, he had already been bitten close to the neck with a deep bite, his whole arm fucked with the bone out letting out more liters of blood and then he got screwed more after the helicopter crash and 99% died by blood loss , I think it makes more sense for the other guy to have survived longer because the bite wasn’t so bad and with some probable fractures in the torso (especially in the back), but like this is not a zombie virus like the others because of those hyper intelligent ,so it may be that the transformation process is slower than the others when someone with a simple bite compared to a worse bite, like a bite that completely removes the part of the region, each virus is different, like the resident evil virus, left 4 dead, world war z, among others even being the same concept of undead creatures they have different transformation processes and unique characteristics right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk man this is by the creators' own choice they can do whatever they want with the virus they created.
The zombies did more posing and animal growling where they could be easily shot in the head than actually being a threat to the team. Rarely was there a point in the film, where teamwork couldn't have triumphed. Also, the double-crossing was ridiculous.
What i absolutely love about this channel is that...it is ultimately about having fun and having a blast...even if it's a rant or dismissing a game or a movie. THANK YOU GUYS. Don't ever change and keep it up!

I was not expecting much from this film, and I'm far from a big Zack Snyder fan, but I actually quite enjoyed it. There were some very stupid moments but overall it was nice to watch a big horror action blockbuster and Dave Bautista was amazing. It was a definite 7/10 for me.
@Adolfthejewbaka _ True but I thought his performance made up for it. That was some very heavy stuff he was given and he carried it well. I think he's a really underrated dramatic actor. Can't wait to see him in Dune.
This movie/film is just brain dead. I hated the daughter character or lack of character. Like that mother did she just disappear on the chopper? As for Tig she took me out of the film. Bautista must have broke his back with the amount of lifting he did for this film. I didn't have this film I just didn't care.
Yeah Tig was trying too hard to be a cool, cigar chomping, rogue pilot. This was not a good film. Would have been a bit better if they cut about 30 mins.
Once the chopper crash landed and Geeta wasn't there I re-winded, cause I thought I missed her falling out or something, but no - she gets on the chopper, and is nowhere to be seen during the fight in the chopper, or after. She just disappears.
@@06dking We don't see her fate, but since the nuke hits in like 2 minutes, it's a good bet she's dead. The guy in the vault survived, though, so anything is possible. They could be leaving doors open for the sequels since it's supposed to be a cinematic universe

The girl at the start picks a fight with the creepy sex offender dude who can kick both of them out of the safe zone. The same girl tells her friend not to do anything stupid minutes later.
The movie had such spectacular moments that you could really see how great this movie could have been but some of the really REALLY stupid parts brought it down. I thought the zombies were done in a really unique and interesting way. I also thought the acting was pretty good.
That's pretty much a staple of Zack's movies. He's a decent cinematographer but good god get this man a good writing team because it's always terrible.

This seems like a great concept for a TV show. Feels like you’d need a long run-time to flesh everything out to a satisfying level and then setup satisfying payoffs.
I don’t think it sucks but I think it was disappointing, the characters and the logic overall was dumb and the daughters friends and the other mercenaries get killed off without really any feelings towards them because Zack Snyder made them feel like they are pointless

To be fair he was in the driver seat and was super confused about everything so I would've pulled him out as well. Plus they wouldn't have been able to get away anyway even if they had tried to drive

@Rōnin true enough. When my aunt was going into labor her husband got so freaked out, despite preparing beforehand, that he almost left her at home. He had started the car and packed wtv they were gonna need at the hospital and started driving away before he realized she was still in the house.
Yeah. That was the first major fail in that movie. I do understand that the situation is unexpected but isn't that what a soldier is trained to handle? If they were ambushed by some guerrillas, would they also then just start running instead of hopping into the car, pushing the injured to the shotgun seat and floor it?
Then the next fail was the gangsta woman who was clearly not overwhelmed to the point of no return but the others just stood there doing nothing until there were too many zombies to fight. At one point she was on her back shooting the zombies and her friend could have easily moved the zombies down, allowing her to escape. It was such a badly written and executed scene that it left a bad aftertaste that continued to bring down the rest of the movie.
I just want to know how a military grade safe, transporting dangerous cargo can be opened from the inside by just falling on its side.
This moment set the precedence for the rest of the movie for me. Expectations were low.
And why they arrange the cargo vehicle they protected in front? What those two heavy armored vehicle doing at the back? And the driver just keep chatting knowing a car was going to ram them.
When I saw these amateur mistakes, I already worry that this probably a stupid, no logic movie and it turn our my worry was right. I was fooled by its trailer.

The intro with the parachute guy was the funniest thing about the movie.
I thought about that scene and it looks like the US military was purposefully sending soldiers into the heart of Las Vegas to keep the zombies focused there while they ring fence the city. Pretty much the only time I will defend the film.

lets start from the fact that she switches positions with Martin cuz she thinks he is suspicious and she wants to keep an eye on him. and she instantly loses sight of him and he traps her leading her to the wrong way.
after (probably the best sequence in the movie) she miraculously escapes keep shooting and fighting... while her friend Guz (and the rest of the gang which we can clearly see them moving in the background) is just watching her fighting for her life and he doesnt even think about helping her. 0 shots shot. Not until she finally gets swarmed and bitten multiple times , only then Guz decides to pull the trigger to shoot her gas tank and blow them up.

Here, I feel like Zack Snyder was just narcissistic. This movie feels like a monument to himself. This is 300% Zack Snyder in every take. And I think every director needs some criticism from his team, someone who keeps him from going too far. It feels like here no one did.

Chambers has a badass shootout scene by herself and then finally gets out with her friend and it’s jumped by like 5 zombies and her friends just stare and watch her die while armed to the fucking teeth lol. That was the worst part of the movie for me just because she went through all that to end up in a bigger space with less zombies around her and her friends are there just to watch her die.
I think the one thing that is right up there with that is how the daughter not knowing if geeta is in the other casino decides im gonna go in there and look for her and lets just say by chance she was right about her friend being alive wtf was her plan knowing a nuke is coming in less than 10 minutes and everyone else is leaving inna helicopter

For a movie this long I expected many more cool scenes around Vegas' and the required team chilling on a barricaded casino, but nope. Feels like half of the time was spent on the entrance, narrow bland corridors and the very basic vault. For such a colourful cool intro the movie sure gets bland later on.
1 hour and they didnt even enter Vegas...

The movie reaaally needed to get to Vegas earlier so it could at least show various key locations, not bland tunnels. And needed more group banter/camaraderie /trying to survive as a team, not just the 1on1 isolated dialogues.
There's all the other sub-plots they completely ditched too, getting us curious about the vault, about the zombie hierarchy, about the villain's true motives when there's no real twist whatsoever lol.

The film should have opened with an ordinary heist (except high stakes and violent) in a casino and had it just happen to coincide with the zombie apocalypse in Vegas. Then have the heist members start turning on each other as they try to flee the city.
The worst character out of this film ends up being the only survivor out of all the characters.

That's why his actual good well rounded films are zsjl, watchmen dc and Dawn of the dead but I do personally love man of Steel
I have an extremely low opinion of Snyder as a writer, so when I saw he was writing the film I went in with cellar-level expectations. I just turned off my brain and tried to have a good time. I enjoyed the take on the zombies, and enjoyed some of the action. It was about what I expected: dumb fun, don't think about it; like, at all.

The movie felt like it was the third movie of a trilogy. I cared nothing for the characters and knew practically nothing of their background.
Exactly! The opening of the film felt like the "Last time on Army of the Dead" Showing what happened on their last mission, it was like the recap from the last episode or something.
Release the Snyder cut another 4 hour movie digging deep into the characters their lore backstory plot holes being explained like how Van got out and how the vault was unlocked from the inside once I started watching the movie and as soon as the daughter was coming along I knew it was over for the team

Even if capturing the queen was the original reason they went on the mission the rich guy could have lied like every wealthy man does in most movies. There's a movie called Cockneys vs. Zombies that is basically that. It starts off as a heist movie, and then it turns into rescuing a bunch of old folks from a rest home surrounded by zombies.
Also, zombie movies exist in CvZ, so the characters don't act like they've never seen a zombie before.

Snyder missed the potential of the movie. He should have made action packed "shaun of the dead" style zombie comedie with Deadpool style over the top jokes and action. Just drop the drama and go all over the top fun.
I literally thought the same thing, but I knew Zack Snyder would fuck it up and take it way to seriously even though the premise is completely ridiculous, and made for a movie like a Shaun of the dead or Deadpool style humor, and yes drop the drama and go with over the top fun.

@Impersonal Immigrant this guy should not write his movies, and it’s hilarious that his best movies have been adaptations of other works that were already good to begin with like dawn of the dead, but maybe that was good because it was written by James Gunn. Also his best movie which is three hundred, is basically just a copy and paste of the graphic novel except they are just moving now, and I find it hilarious that’s the only way he can make a great movie, but just transferring over a comic.

How come the zombies couldn't escape from Vegas? They put up a wall of several containers, but that zombie leader was standing on the damn Statue of Liberty replica, which looked higher than the container wall. This movie has no logic.
I think the explanation is supposed to be that the Zombies don't want to leave because it is their kingdom and the Alphas are satisfied with that. But of course like everything else in the movie it isn't explained directly or well.

The trope is either there's a character that is to evil for their own good or a character that is to good for their own good . Dave's daughter was too good for her own good , her righteous choices lead her demise. It's a common trope in movies .

This movie pisses me off. The set-up is good - a heist movie in a city full of zombies? Nobody trusts each other? Extremely limited time? Intelligent zombies? It had so much potential... and then they just turned it into a family-drama sitcom with zombies. Take away Kate and Geeta and the movie is automatically better (not good, but better). Actually show people trying to betray one another and display visible distrust between the heisters as they attempt to maintain some form of shaky alliance in order to survive and actually walk out of there with money? It becomes good. Make the film an 30 mins - an hour longer to give more time for these things to fester and develop? It would have been great.
EDIT: Can we also talk about the Head of Security for a second? Once he got the zombie head, why didn't he just... leave? The place where that whole encounter occurs is the exact same place where the group first entered Vegas. If the head was his real goal, why didn't he just take it and pass back through the container they had entered through before? Surely he'd be able to arrange to have a car or something waiting for him to make sure he gets out of nuke range.

3 minutes in, AJ described my thoughts exactly while watching the film. I wanted to like it so much more. They set up a cool concept with the zombie nation and didn't utilitize it in favor of stupid (badly done) family drama.

Amazed me out Bautista’s character got bit and turned into a zombie moments after. But the other guy got bit, waited like... an hour to escape with the money, traveled from Nevada to Utah, got a plane, got that plane to fly from Utah to New Mexico and only as they was landing he realised he was about to turn
hm, well the Bautista character was much more fucked than that other guy, he had already been bitten close to the neck with a deep bite, his whole arm fucked with the bone out letting out more liters of blood and then he got screwed more after the helicopter crash and 99% died by blood loss , I think it makes more sense for the other guy to have survived longer because the bite wasn’t so bad and with some probable fractures in the torso (especially in the back), but like this is not a zombie virus like the others because of those hyper intelligent ,so it may be that the transformation process is slower than the others when someone with a simple bite compared to a worse bite, like a bite that completely removes the part of the region, each virus is different, like the resident evil virus, left 4 dead, world war z, among others even being the same concept of undead creatures they have different transformation processes and unique characteristics right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk man this is by the creators' own choice they can do whatever they want with the virus they created.

The zombies did more posing and animal growling where they could be easily shot in the head than actually being a threat to the team. Rarely was there a point in the film, where teamwork couldn't have triumphed. Also, the double-crossing was ridiculous.

I was not expecting much from this film, and I'm far from a big Zack Snyder fan, but I actually quite enjoyed it. There were some very stupid moments but overall it was nice to watch a big horror action blockbuster and Dave Bautista was amazing. It was a definite 7/10 for me.

The girl at the start picks a fight with the creepy sex offender dude who can kick both of them out of the safe zone. The same girl tells her friend not to do anything stupid minutes later.
The movie had such spectacular moments that you could really see how great this movie could have been but some of the really REALLY stupid parts brought it down. I thought the zombies were done in a really unique and interesting way. I also thought the acting was pretty good.

The beginning had me excited for the rest of the movie and then the rest of the movie happened, while I slept.
This seems like a great concept for a TV show. Feels like you’d need a long run-time to flesh everything out to a satisfying level and then setup satisfying payoffs.
I’m in the minority when I say I really thought this movie sucked.

I don’t think it sucks but I think it was disappointing, the characters and the logic overall was dumb and the daughters friends and the other mercenaries get killed off without really any feelings towards them because Zack Snyder made them feel like they are pointless
When you consider the pandemic is fake and the same people who make these movies also run "reality" it sucks even more
