This "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers is the most played song on radio in the 20th Century by the Guinness Books of World Records. What more is there to say. Priceless!

You identified one element of the Righteous Brothers, and other singers from this era, that is almost lacking in popular music today -- class. Almost no one nowadays makes the effort to display such elegance and refinement.

Nice reaction, nice you enjoyed. They aren't brothers. Bobby Hatfield hits the high notes. Bill Medley has the deep voice. A contemporary of theirs is Tom Jones. He had many hits in the 1960's. Have a good weekend!🎉❤

Enjoy! THIS song is a classic!!! These men were darn GOOD!! The contrast in their vocal ranges just makes it better!!!! Such a contrast. Check out Bobbie 's high notes!!! I am old enough that I remember when they were active.. They were wonderful.. YES, classy........

The Righteous Brothers, Bobby Hatfield the guy you already reacted to and Bill Medley the one with the deep voice, had a string of hits back in the sixties.
Their style was considered "blue eyed soul".

They started in a group of five or six singers, one by one members left and these two, miracle of miracles, were left and formed a duo...in Southern California they were performing in a club near a Marine Base, I think in San Diego CA. Some African American Marines were in the audience. One shouted out after a song they did "Hey that's righteous brother!" and later they realized when they had a recording contract and a single done they needed a better name and remembered that guy's comment! So they are not really brothers, that's their stage act name. Bill is still alive, Bobby passed away in 2003 [age 63] in his hotel room on tour with Bill, in Kalamazoo MI, just 50 minutes from my house! i cried when Ii heard the news in the car on the way to work...I was a music teacher who grew up with this music.

Yes, they had style and they learned it from the best! Before they were famous they worked the 2AM shows in Vegas to earn money. Frank Sinatra caught their act and really liked their talent. He took them under his wing. He referred to them as "the kids". The Righteous Brothers credit Sinatra for showing them how to be true entertainers, not simply singers.💕 Here is a link to their performance on The Ed Sullivan Show singing You'll Never Walk Alone. It is amazing to me that their harmonies are so good. Usually for a duo there would be more overlap in their voices, but Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield have such starkly different ranges that it is rare to find such harmony.
If you liked this song, please react to Soul and Inspiration next. It was written as a follow-up to the success of this song by the same writers and features those beautiful harmonies of both "brothers", peaking at #1 for three straight weeks in 1966. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/cwTdRpYTS4c/w-d-xo.html
And they aren't actually related. They got their name playing at a military base and some African-American marines shouted out "man, you sound righteous, brother!" They liked that so the name stuck!

Hi dear Inna - the singer with the bass voice is Bill Medley - he might sound a bit familiar to you, because he sings the very famous song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" together with Jennifer Warnes, it's a song from the soundtrack to the movie Dirty Dancing. In the interpretation by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, the song became a worldwide hit.

They are not brothers. They are just two people that got together to perform. Sometimes they sing together. But each of them do solo's from time to time. The shorter guy is Bobby Hatfield, and the deep voice is Bill Medley. I think I got his last name correct. Bobby Hatfield is died in his 60's.

They both played piano but not in their performances. For the studio version of 'unchained melody' Bill was playing piano ... and also singing backup. Other songs to listen to... 'Little Latin Lupe Lu' was their first hit (written by Bill) and 'My Babe' their second hit (written by both of them) . Their bigger hits would be 'Soul and Inspiration'. 'Just once in my Life' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone'

I have always been jealous of Bill Medley's singing ability. My voice is deep as well but I can not nearly sing as good as he can. This song I have known my entire life. My mom loved this song and so I grew up with it listening to it many times. And even after all this time I still get goose bumps when I hear it. Bobby did play piano. He also played trumpet. They both sang in church choir at some point. In high school, Bobby was in choir (glee club). He was in a choir within the choir that was dubbed Mozart choir. Don't know about choir in lower grades.
(To be picky, Bill produced records. He wasn't an music arranger. Others did that.)

Two things that come to mind that you don't try and copy and that's The Righteous Brothers and Peter Sellers doing the Pink Panther character. Those who have tried fail miserably, like the actors that tried to take on the Pink Panther character after Peter Sellers died. Bobby Hatfield of The Righteous Brothers made Unchained Melody, his, it's foolish to try and outdo what Bobby accomplished with that song. Glad you liked this music I grew up listening to, you get a thumbs up from me.

The tall, dark-haired one, Bill Medley, has been an amazing performer for 60 years, and still performs occasionally. He was the brains behind the group, and his baritone voice was wonderful. The shorter one, Bobby Hatfield, got a lot of credit for his very high tenor range, especially in unchained melody, but he was a drug user and died more than 20 years ago, having lost much of his range.
