Sorry if I offended anyone by using the “N” word. It’s part of my culture and how I talk. Nothing personal at all. Had a few negative comments and felt I needed to apologize.

For those of us who came up through the sixties and seventies with all the racial hatred it's hard to hear the "N" word. I at least understand that times change and slang does too, gay used to mean happiness now it's homosexual no problem with that. I don't like the confederate flags either but they still have them in my area. Good or bad people are people and we share space with them. Peace and love are good mottos to go by.

I was 18 yrs old when this song came out. Yes, I'm getting pretty damned old! Something to understand is that live performances & TV were the only way you actually saw artists back then, No computers, no cell phones, no videos no social media. Most people had only heard them on the radio. When they appeared on TV, many were shocked that they were white. That's when the term "blue-eyed soul" was invented. I'm so glad someone introduced you to them.

@@DexTVReactsThe boys never made a bad record, either together or individually, the words, the music, the backing, everything just gelled to make a perfect listening experience, you have so much to look forward to if you keep listening to the Brothers. Soul and Inspiration, Rock n Roll Heaven, Little Latin LoopyLou,. Personally, if I was forced to choose one singer to listen to forever, it'd be Bobby, he never neglects a single note and his range is phenomenal, Unchained Melody, Ebb Tide, If I Ruled the World, Summertime, just to mention a few.

The definition of "Blue-eyed Soul". "Soul and Inspiration" is another of their big hits. Bobby's solo performance of "Unchained Melody" is a staple of music reactors, and Bill singing "I Want To Make Love to You" is guaranteed to to make any woman hot and bothered. Brothers in song, not blood.

Yo that "Blue Eyed Soul" is a corny way to give these white dudes love, what if they were Brown eyed fellas????? Soul ain't a color or race, cause not all blacks have soul, right??? Ok so it's a gift ,it's a gift that id say every singer singer WISH they could produce but it just don't happen, you can't train your body or practice enough in capture soul, you either born wit it on not, don't matter what church or bar b q they attend,it's a dumb shit to think a certain culture wants to claim "soul" get the hell out of here with that, cause growing up Bobby Caldwell is definition and face of Soul and he white ass Casper, just heard that Stapleton guy a week ago and his voice will lock your soul up when he is sangin,we gotta stop that claiming shit when it's a born st birth gift and that's exactly that

I grew up listening to this music and the Righteous Brothers (who were not real brothers) were special singers. They got their name as the story goes when they were performing in a club and a black marine hollered out after their performance "that was righteous brother". I listen to many reactions from young folks like yourself on the music I grew up with and it makes me feel so good that you all appreciate the quality. At the time I took it all for granted because there were so many really good singers and groups, but I have developed a newfound love thanks to these reaction videos. Your reaction was great.

The Righteous Brothers are excellent talents, remember there was no autotune back in the '60s and '70s.

They are not related. They got their name when performing at a military base and some African-American Marines shouted out "you sound righteous, brother!" They liked it so the name stuck. This song was produced by Phil Spector who, up to that time, only produced songs by black artists. The Righteous Brothers became Spector's first white vocal act. Fun fact: one of the female background singers was 18-year old Cherilyn Sarkisian. Today you probably just know her as Cher.
If you like this song, you would really enjoy Soul and Inspiration. It was written as a follow-up to the success of this song by the same writers and peaked at #1 for three straight weeks in 1966. Here is the link if you'd like to react to it: th-cam.com/video/cwTdRpYTS4c/w-d-xo.html

And in case you'd like to check out more great music and wonderful artists from the same time period as The Righteous Brothers then give this one a listen "Tom Jones & Stevie Wonder Medley - This is Tom Jones TV Show 1969" (by the channel: Tom Jones) they are performing in front of an audience but the show is being taped and the audiences were told during this era to only clap when they are told. (totally deferent times back then) but I think you will enjoy the performance and you might want to have the lyrics just in case you need them. I find it always makes the song more enjoyable when you know what's being said. (not being critical just MO) Great reaction, thanks for sharing peace out~

If you like blue-eyed soul, check "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" by Elvin Bishop, live on Midnight Special it's lit, thanks. And don't forget The Beatles doing "Don't Let Me Down", live on the roof, their last public appearance, 1969. You will crave both numbers!!! New sub, thumbs up!

This video has the studio recording replacing the live audio. This is the actual live performance from January 1965 on Shindig, a weekly live music program. They were regulars on the show.

They are not brothers. They are from southern cal and back in the 60,s, there were many Black Marines listening to their style of singing. After their performance, they yelled out Righteous Brothers

No - Bill Medley & the late Bobby Hatfield weren't related. They said that they'd had trouble thinking of a name for their act. Because videos weren't a thing back then people hearing them on the radio thought they were black. At one of their shows an audience member called out that they were "Righteous". Conversely, people thought the late, great Charlie Pride was white.

Ps - Listen to their song "Soul & Inspiration". However, in light of your ex, don't listen to Home Free's song "Love Me Like That" or Austin Brown's "If I Met You Now".

Ayyyee… Lol🙌. Nah they’re not brothers, and this song is from the 60’s. Listen to “Unchained Melody” by them (The little guy is singing in that one alone), it’s one of the greatest performances ever frfr, no autotune and all that just straight voice💪.
