Floor is pregnant with her second child and currently on tour with NW. I assume she plans to continue performing like she did with her first child, Freya, until very late in the pregnancy. Freya sometimes travels with NW when both Floor and her husband, Hannes, are on tour at the same time. Floor had so many great performances on the 2019 season of Beste Zangers. She sang the first song of the season "Vilya Lied" as a tribute song to Henk Poort, when at the time most of the other performers new nothing about her. The opera, "Vilya Lied" was a great introductory performance. Another great Floor performance of BZ 2019 was "Winner"
The asian leg of the tour has just ended and Floor will be back on stage with Nightwish in June. In the meantime she will tour Austria, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands with her solo show promoting her solo album.

Nightwish just posted that they will release a new album next year but not tour for it.
Henk Port played the phantom in musicals for years. He is an original phantom, so to speak.
Floor has been a fan of his since she was little. For her, a dream came true that day. The two get along brilliantly. So good that they have guest appearances in each other's solo concerts. Most recently, Henk was also on stage with nightwish.
Note, it's more likely to get copyright strikes if you keep the "Best Zangers" logo and melody at the end of the video.
Well, if not original, he was still called the 'favorite' by the author. Henk apparently performed as the Phantom more than six hundred times. :)
Nightwish just released Henk Poort on stage in Amsterdam 2022. Singing this qith Floor. Nightwish had not performed this on stage for 17yrs until then. Its AMAZING 💕 🤘 👏
Beste Zangers is a Dutch reality singing show. They invite a number of talented Dutch singers from different genres and each week one singer is featured. The other artists sing songs of or important to the featured singer. The people on the couches are the other singers. The last show is where the singers ask the others to perform duets together. Henk is a famous opera and musical theater singer. He was the Phantom (and a very famous one) in the Dutch production of the Phantom of the Opera musical. Floor saw him perform as the Phantom as a teenager and became a huge fan. A big part of her being on this show was to meet him and sing together. She asked him to do this duet with her and he agreed with the promise that when Nightwish was in concert in Amsterdam that he would get to sing this with the band. Nightwish had previously done their own version with their first singer Tarja and Marko, last performed at the End of an Era concert in 2005. They use that arrangement as the starting point for this rockier version but the original is even heavier and more dramatic. Definitely worth checking out, especially for the most evil and metal Phantom ever. Marko steals the show. After being delayed by the pandemic Nighwish finally was performing in Amsterdam in November of 2022. Everyone was hoping they would sing this on stage with the band and they did! First time in 17 years and with the original Nightwish arrangement. So good and cool that they kept their promises.
The people on the show are famous singers in the Netherlands. Beste Zangers in English is Best Singers, and the guy singing with her played the Phantom on stage in the Netherlands many times. They had no clue before the show who Floor was even though worldwide she had sold more records than they had, but the Netherlands doesn't pay much attention to metal or metal artists.
So after the magic of Floor you see the magic of Henk.
Henk is actually Floor's idol - and after this season finished, Henk performed with Nightwish.
The people watching aren't judges - there are no winners and losers on this show.
They are other singers, who all do turns in the spotlight, singing each others favourite tracks, or songs that mean so
much to them.
The two blonde ladies are Emma and Samantha, then their is Rolf, Tim and Ruben.
All five of them have some memorable performances here, both solo and in duets.
Jan Smit is in the chair next to Rolf also. - but as the shows host.
All of the artists on this season are wonderful, so hope to see many more reactions to them.

i believe only Tim, who had performed with Floor before, knew her abilities, that's why we see such amazing reactions, they know she was a metal singer, but not all this!! that was an epic season!!
I think that is why I like their reactions even more. They are professional singers themselves, so to watch them get blown away by Floor is even more rewarding.
To be honest I don't think any of us really know when it comes to Floor. She just amazes every time.
Henk was one of Floor's childhood heroes. She was fangirling the entire time. Henk learned how to growl just for this performance, which is why she was so ecstatic with it. Henk was a little stunned by the power of her voice, you can see it on his face. They did another rendition live at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, which is excellent. Floor's solo stuff is great, she did some covers on ther TH-cam channel. You can't go wrong with Nightwish.
Henk loves it when people performe that well but stunned no you have to do more than that. He is in his element playing the role he has done for many years. He is the best Phantom according to ALW.
"Euphoria" (cover of Eurovision winner from Lorena) on a Beste Zangers special is beautiful... Floor wasn't able to perform in person because she was recovering from surgery, so she sang with the live band through video from home.
Henk is an opera singer turned musical star (for the lead in Les Misérables) who played the Phantom is the Dutch version.
I am Dutch and I saw Floor when she was still with After Forever...I can tell you that she is absolutely amazing!!!

😄Nice reaction; This was the one song ,that made a big impact all a round the world for Floor. She wasn't that well known,except for the symfonic metal scene and ,in my opinion,Floor atracted a lot of new listeners to the metal scene. How could a metal singer have such a wonderfull voice? Well,after this show people realized,that it's not only screaming and growling man and women in the metal scene.
Henk Poort is a legendary theater and musical star in the Netherlands and played the phantom many times in the dutch version of the musical. He was one of Floor's music heroes when she grew up! They met the first time on this show. Just for her, Henk sang a part of Phantom with a more raspy voice, which was normally a no-go for him. They had such a good chemistry that Floor asked him to perform as guest with Nightwish on their tour in the Netherlands, which he agreed.
"The Phantom of the Opera" is a classic story, the novel is released in the 19th century, I believe. The first movie was in the early 20th century and the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber is probably the best known musical ever!

I've been lucky enough to see Floor and Henk perform this live twice.😄Once just a month prior to covid when Floor did a solo tour through the Netherlands, and once late last year when Nightwish came to the Netherlands.
Beste Zangers is a Dutch tv show where different singers go on 'holiday' together (mostly to Ibiza like this season) and each evening one of them is in the spotlights. The other singers then each sing a song for that person. That could be their biggest hit, a song from their genre (there's always a mix of genres among the singers, so a rapper could sing an opera song for example), a song that has a deep meaning for the person, etc.
The last episode is the 'duet episode', where everyone gets to pick someone else to sing a duet with. Nightwish did Phantom of the Opera way in the past back when Tarja was their lead singer but hadn't perform it live since 2005, but Floor obviously knew that version. Henk has been the Phantom in the Dutch version of the musical for many years (and is actually one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's favorite Phantoms) and she also knew that, so Floor asked Henk to sing it with her. "Only if I get to sing it with you and Nightwish the next time you're coming to the Netherlands", he said.
A promise was made and a promise was kept. During their shows in Amsterdam last year they did Phantom and the Opera live again for the first time in 17 years. That show was originally planned for late 2020 but has been rescheduled two or three times due to covid, but last november it finally happened. The whole venue exploded when Henk came on stage, it was awesome. Should you wanna react to that version as well, it is on TH-cam on the Nightwish channel. (and more than worth it, even after watching this one!)
By the way, how incredibly powerful is that "inside your mind" line from Henk with Floor's reaction! Gets me every time!
Two other awesome songs from this season of Beste Zangers are "Vivo per Lei" from Henk and Emma (the girl in the red dress. I understand you live in Italy, that makes this kind of a must see😜) and "The Sound of Silence" from Henk. And if you want a lovely summer vibe song, give "Pa Olvidarte" from Emma and Rolf (the guy with the open mouth) a go. Bet you can't sit still on that one!😁

You'll know by now that Beste Zangers is not a competition.
The 2019 series that had her in it is worth watching throughout- the other singers are brilliant too.
This version of Phantom is actually down a tone from the original I think but she is a different league from Sarah Brightman altogether.
Dead Boy's Poem and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean both from Buenos Aires 2018 would show still more variety, not to mention Romanticide from Wacken 2013 (all Nightwish).
Yeah, Floor just attracts people like the Goddess that she is. Her solo songs are a must watch

She is a young Russian singer who is 19 now started out when she was about six or seven. I have included a video of when she was just 15. This may get blocked so you would have to screen it. Though I love the Nightwish version of Phantom of the Opera with Tarja and Marko and the new version with Nightwish in Amsterdam with Floor and Henk...My personal favorite is the one we just listened to here from Beste Zangers 2019. I think you should check out, even if you don't react to them, the rest of Floor's songs from that TV show as well as the song Floor wrote as performed by Emma Heesters for Floor, "Strong". It had Floor and every one else on the sofa in tears. There are so many great performances by all of the artists on this show. This got me going back and listening to previous years of the show and of course I've listened to the years since and it's just mind blowing how many great artists are from The Netherlands. Great job young lady and please keep it up!

Between Floor's solo and Nightwish, there is a ton of videos still to check out. I personally would continue going down the Nightwish rabbit hole, and sprinkle in a Floor solo song now and then. As far as her solo stuff, my favorite would be STORM from her latest album Paragon.
Beste Zangers: not a competition (hence the people on the couch aren’t a jury) but a celebration of the Best Singers from the Netherlands. Every season a cast of vocalists from various genres / styles is put together for a week and record a series of episodes. Each episode one of them is the guest of honour and the others sing either a song from that person or a song that means a lot to them. The final episode is one where they all get to do a duet with a partner of their choosing. So in the case of Floor the moment she heard Henk Poort was part of the cast she knew she had to do this one with him as she was such a big fan of him in the musical. Henk is a trained musical theatre / opera singer and was original first Dutch Phantom and the first Valjean (Les Miserables).
Also, most of the people watching this show had never heard of Floor or Nightwish but this series really catapulted her into the mainstream and buoyed on the succes of Beste Zangers she was able to develop a solo career resulting in her first solo album Paragon that has just been released.

Inna, I could be wrong but you said something that made me think you don't know of Phantom of the Opera.
Phantom of the Opera is a stage musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It first played in Londons West End theater district in 1986 and then on Broadway in New York in 1988. It was wildly popular. Pretty much everyone who's in their mid 40's and older is at least familiar with this musical. If you have never listened to it I would highly recommend it. As others have said Henk played the Phantom in Netherlands' theaters and as a child/teenager Floor was a huge fan of his.
If you can't find a video of the full stage performance (try to find a full stage performance with Michael Crawford playing Phantom and Sarah Brightman playing Christine) Phantom of the Opera was made into a movie in 2004.
Dig up something from her first two bands After Forever Or ReVamp- ‘Wildcard’ or ‘Disdain’ for examples.
Here Inna is a great place to view all Beste Zangers seasons, and episodes - at least the ones that aren't blocked on YT.
Paul H did a great job of translating whole episodes, and they include seasons 2014 up to 2019, plus a few 2020, when they started blocking
the whole episodes with translations.
He stopped about a year ago doing Beste Zangers translations - due to copyright strike risks, but if you check further back than that, there is a goldmine of
episodes.
Most of the2017, 2018 and 2019 episodes are up - in fact all the individual episodes are up from all three seasons, plus the 2017 and 2018 duets - unfortunately the 2019 duets episode is missing so presumably was blocked.
Anyway a great way to waste away a day or two watching, seeing all the context for the songs performed.

InnaMusic, if you have ever heard the Disturbed / David Draiman take on Sound of Silence and liked it, please react to Henk Poort's version of this song in Beste zangers. During the show, he was the funny uncle or wise elder in most cases. When the vocalists performed songs for Floor Jansen, Henk had difficulty keeping his composure out of nerves and stepping out of his comfort zone. He's the guy with the most experience in the show and one of Floor's biggest idols, especially after she had seen him performing live. For this show, PotO was the best duet, possibly by far. Sound of Silence was Henk's best solo performance without a doubt. Hope you enjoy!
The judges are actually professional musicians. And Floor had to pick a song to do for each of them based on their work, or something personal to them . She learned to sing in Spanish to perform a hit salsa song to the creator Rolf. He was blown away. She also sang winner and made that artist cry on the show. At the time she wasn't really known in the neatherlands like she is now. So it made that best singers(beste zangers) more impressive.

This basically broke the internet when the original video dropped. These two vocalists together...just WOW!
I saw you jump with the first sound in the video. That was an actual thunderclap from outside the tent. This video is the shortened version so you did not see that they were in Ibiza and a storm was rolling in while they filmed this last episode for the season. This was the last performance of the entire season.
You can see water coming down from certain camera angles and some of the guys in this video had helped the crew grab containers to catch the rain that was leaking through the roof.
Just in time, the tent started to give out, making for a really creepy ambiance to the setting. They purposely left that fist thunderclap in the video because it helped set the creepy stage for the song. :)
How do you move on from this? Simple. You watch the version she did with Nightwish and Henk Poort in Amsterdam last November.

They are all professional singers. Her solo stuff is great, but more in the pop style. If you like softer dramatic pop music, check it out you will probably love it. There is so much more Nightwish to experience Inna. If you are more of a metal fan?

I second Ever Dream... but in the "End of an Era" version with Tarja Turunen. I absolutely love Floor Jansen but in any rendition of hers of Ever Dream she seems to be reaching. Ever Dream was composed for Tarja's operatic voice, same with Nemo, She Is My Sin, The Kinslayer, and Come Cover Me.

You should listen to "Vivo per lei" with Henk and Emma Heesters (the woman in the red dress). When it comes to versatility and range, she's nowhere near as good as Floor is (I mean, who is?), but she's got one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.

You’ve barely dipped a toe into Nightwish. She got onto Beste Zangers only after killing it for five years with Nightwish. Find Gabriel’s list and pick something from there. Or just get back to the 2013 Wacken Concert and checkout Storytime, Everdream, Nemo, Romanticide, Song of Myself, Ghost River… my God! That concert is wall to wall excellence.

Now of course I'd appreciate if you could also do a reaction to Nightwish's version from the "End of an Era" 2005 concert with Tarja Turunen (NW's 1st female lead voice) and Marko Hietala (bass) as singers. That's amazing as well. In general, since you seem to be falling for Nightwish, please include older songs with Tarja to your reactions. Many official song versions of the older songs feature Floor as singer nowadays, but there are some songs that just fit better to Tarja. Examples: Nemo, Ever Dream, Cover Me, She Is My Sin, and The Kinslayer (best version of that one if from the "From Wishes To Eternity" 2000 concert). Keep 'em coming. Thanks.

In case if I'm wrong about the below, and out of sympathy for the vbloger, who may have a phobia of Wikipedia, here is my a short digression into the history of the show . The show Beste Zangers, formerly De beste zangers van Nederland (English: The Best Singers (of the Netherlands)),(the first was in 2009) doesn't quite feel like a contest, there is no jury, In each episode, several well-known artists take it in turns to become central artists in "hotspots" or "hot seat" that other artists reward by performing songs that are important to that person. It could be a cover of one of his/her own songs, a song that inspires the hot scene performer, or something from his/her past. In earlier seasons, the main artist decided who should sing which song, while in later seasons, the artists themselves could choose one from a list. The hot seat artist ranks the performances and chooses their favorite performance, resulting in that person being the winner of the episode. The first six seasons also feature a final episode in which they discuss and vote on their favorites. The voting later became less important and was discontinued. In season 10, the final episode was presented, in which the artists sing duets. Samantha Stenwijk (the more mature blonde in white) and Rolf Sanchez (sitting upright in that "seat" next to the host of the show next to him, mouth open) were announced as the winners of the 2019's show, but to be honest, it's out of courtesy and educating other members, more successful, more famous and more... and more... they just thought that this victory (mention in the media) is more necessary for these guys.

All of the Wacken concert is kinda mandatory, Storytime, Everdream etc etc, but then please react to Dead Boys Poem from Buenos Aires...... it will blow your mind yet again. Then Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley and Greatest Show on Earth, ( I prefer the Tampere live show vs Wembley, but both great )..... After those it's all gravy there's no bad ones. If you want the purest most intimate Floor Vocals don't leave out How's the Heart Acoustic version...... It is amazing and probably one of the most difficult vocal you will ever see/here ...... I literally do not think anyone could cover it if they tried.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think this version is 100 times better than when Henk was a guest with Nightwish for the song. My favorite version of the song is with Marko and Tarja, but this version is my second favorite. I was disappointed with the Henk/Nightwish version.
