Did you get your settings figured out for the rotary in Lightburn? I have the D1 Pro 10w and I have the axis set to Y, mm per rotation to 128 and the roller diameter set to 16.76 mm. Hope this helps.
I haven't. From what I read it is extremely difficult if not impossible to do brass. BUT, I haven't considered it since I got my 36 watt wizmaker. I might need to consider it again.
I use flat black paint and clean with acatone to clean on copper and works out well for me
I'll try that. How does it hold up though? Does it actually etch the copper?
@@LaserNoob Yes it does with my Longer Ray5 10w laser
I appreciate the tip!
Just checked on my settings and I had it set at 80% power at 2.0 speed also black marker pen seems to work and on stainless steel
Sharpie? I'll certainly test these!

Honestly, I have not even used the rotary for quite a while. But, thanks for the info! I will try that this weekend.
Have you tried you test on brass, such as kick plates for doors?

Just ordered some. We'll see what happens!
Did you order a kick plate or something else?
Some 6"x6", 24 guage sheets
I'm curious what would happen if you applied a thin coat of soldering flux on the copper then cooked it with the laser?
The etched area would be super clean, most likely.
