- No, you can't engrave brass with a diode laser! But you can use it to transfer designs onto brass and then use acid to etch the designs into the metal, and that's what this video is all about. I did this with a Creality Falcon 2, 22 watt diode (link below) and ferric chloride (link also below).
The Creality Falcon 2 Features:
Multi-Scene Infinity Creation:
Powerful 22W Laser Output
25000mm/min ultra-fast Cutting Speed
Ultra-fine Carving and Cutting
Magical colorful engraving
Triple monitoring systems & Five Safety Protections

Finally, a video that answered all my questions. Well done!
Thank you!
One small safety consideration- you probably did it, but didn't mention it- wear glasses when you wash the basins and stuff out.
That's the #1 way to get acid in your unprotected eyes. You're finished with the job, take off glasses, turn on the hose and it blasts the acid and it rebounds into your face.
It's the stupid steps like that where people make mistakes.
Incredible results, man! Fantastic work! 😃
Thanks a bunch for all the tips!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I used electrolysis instead with saltwater and a metal katode and 5 volt powersupply.
No acid.... however results in gases so preferably outdoors (explosive)...
It is easy if you can control the voltage.
This was incredibly useful. I have a proposed project that this would be perfect for.
This is not engraving, just etching
Yeah, hence the “?” At the end of the title.
