I thought I made a lot of mess when changing my oil, this guy made me look like a pro!
Lol I’m all honesty this system should make it for a cleaner job we just did it as if it was a normal joe that didn’t know anything but yes hahah I agree
They make more mess....PRO make more mess so they make u buy more Tools...
Put a cheap dollar store tarp under your vehicle to save your driveway and make cleanup easy. Always use wheel chocks with ramps and have plenty of shop towels.Always wear gloves a mechanic I worked with died from skin cancer on his hands that his doctor said was caused by repeated contact with used oil. Thanks for the video keep up the good work .

You reinstalled the cover on the skid plate BEFORE you started the engine to check for leaks 😮
Bad advice from a professional technician if you want my opinion.
I bought this tool, did my first oil change using it on my ‘12 Highlander. The oil filter housing was over tourqued by the previous shop and tabs were chipped. This thing was a life saver.
Toyota designed like this and hopefully technician get pay more for oil change...too many steps and tools need to buy! and time too!

As you can tell, this is the comment section. Guess you should have put a tarp down to keep the driveway clean. He held a rag to keep from dripping oil on the engine, but no fucks given for the driveway SMH.
This 0w20 oil is like water, I didn't realize the problem until my first oil change and it was splashing fucking everywhere as it hit the oil pan. Now I raise the oil drain pan up as close to the truck as possible
I have their tools for my oil changes. Definitely worth it for convenience. I got it done without it but the oil filter drain tool is nice to have. Great video!

Replaced 9 filter housings for Toyota's that had the complimentary toyota free oil change... In the span of 5 years. Just bought my '23 tacoma AINT bringing her down for a dang oil change! I know some of those new techs don't use 18ft lbs to tighten those.

tigh by hand...I do not see any Tech tight oil filter with Torq wrench!!!!!
Let’s hope they fill with the correct weight oil n change the filter. I think dealer skip filter to every other oil change.
Same splash when I used and older swallower drain pan, so I bought a much deeper pan over at Walmart and also, if you leave
the oil filler cap on and don't pull out the oil dip stick you won't have the slash as much and as the oil drains you can release the dip stick and cap to allow the oil to drain reminder in the pan...also, I use an old plastic tarp to keep area clean and it makes it easy to pull the tarp out with the oil pan from under the truck and makes it easer to empty...not true about the dip stick showing a little over the full make...please note that the oil filter will need to be totally saturated to get a real true reading on the dip stick...I fill the oil filter with the 1, 2 of the 6.1 or 2 so I only put in slightly less that 6 qts. no dry start of oil filter. just some things to think about, you are the judge of your thinking...Ninja on...

This is such an easier process on the Gen 2's with the oil filter on top with the old school filter.
Gen 2 ..on top and then you need to come down there to get your oil.....same thing..just get down there and make a mess down there for 1 place to clean up GEN 2..make more mess than this because you need to come to 2 places....and in the real world...TIme is money.....more work and less money if u do not know how??!

If I'm still going to get my hands covered in oil when removing the pan nut and the filter nut, that makes this whole kit not worth the $69 to me. Thanks for showing the product so everyone can make their own decisions, though.
Technically it shouldn’t make quite the mess we just kind of did it quick but if your at home only mess you’ll honestly should get is when u unbolt you take the oil out

They are all just like that torqued down from heat cycling. Use the 24mm socket and .5”
You will get blasted with less oil if you remove the oil fill cap AFTER you remove the drain plug.

It's impossible to get every single drop of oil out. However, the capacity listed in the owner's manual is the oil change capacity. That's the amount that should be replaced. The high level mark on the dip-stick is the full mark when the engine is at operating temperature.
If you overfill it just drain the oil filter. Then top it off if need be.

Torque is 25 millimeters? I thought torque was measured in-lbs or ft-lbs in the U.S.?
They lived in another site of the world so they used Ml...and us used FT/lb......Just a number or another language!
I’ve got a Toyota Camry and not once have I ever changed the washer on the drain plug.
Can you show more of the rav4 more soft roaring with it and do you have any 4Runners to to show. I love your Tacoma it’s freaking awesome. I don’t know I’m on the fence with 4Runner and Tacoma I want a redesign on both and better mph

@@JesseRizo hey what do you think about the rav4 adventure so my mom wants the rav4 i dont think she wants a hybrid because when that battery goes its about 15g to replace and the ev there isnt anything special about them vs the gas but more headaches for ev looking at an adventure model now i dont think she needs a trd rav4 lol that was a cash grab for toyota slapping the trd of the rav4

Changed my oil on my 22’ tacoma yesterday. Started her up and oil was splashing all on my garage floor… O-ring was not placed right…

I bought a new 23 that was leaking since new. I torqued it to 19 ft/lbs and it still leaked. I changed my oil, noticed it was overfilled 30oz from the factory, and I replaced the housing and o-ring. It still leaked from the top of the housing.
I took it to my dealer with 100 miles on it.
They socked it down and told me to let them do oil changes or I risk voiding my warranty.
Boy, has toyota gone down the drain..

Should just put the metal oil filter on there. That plastic one is horrible (in my experience) I broke a ratchet trying to get it off. Never had an issue with the metal one.

According to THE CAR CARE NUT, the OEM plastic cartridge Can outlast the life of the vehicle when handled and torqued to spec and he advised against “upgrading” to the metal one that was not designed for the vehicle. Thank peeps!

I do not like the way just a REMOVE OIL FILTER....so complicate......old oil filter for 5vz-fe is simple and I finished for long time already.....( time consumming too long and too messy) pay only .3 so must be hurry and do another oil change !!!! time is $$$
