    In the past 24 hours I've ended up on this channel twice for two very different things. This was due to me searching for American made oil change tools, and the other one came up as a suggestion after watching some 4Runner content. Small world!

    I'm absolutely delighted that the socket set is missing the 10mm 😆
    I stopped losing them after I dedicated a drawer in my bins to backup 10mm sockets and wrenches. They don't even try to fall off the ratchet extensions anymore.

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      🤣🤣🤣 Good eye! Just so we're clear... the set includes a 10mm socket that you get the honor of losing.

      @Gowaduv ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Phew! I'm glad they don't take the fun out of it.
      I already had the filter tool and wrench, somehow I didn't see the set with the funnel. So I bought the funnel (somehow it's harder to get oil into her 4runner than it is my Tundra). Thanks for the discount code

    I bought their MotivX oil filter wrench 2 years ago for my 21 Venza. By far the nicest tool I've ever purchased. The packaging it came in was a piece of art as was the finish on the tool. Thanks for letting me see how these are made. You can tell they take great pride in crafting the best.

    Very cool to see the maker behind. I would love to see front diff drain and fill plug replacements. The factory hex plug strips kind of easily. And when i checked out the new 2024 Tacoma up close, it uses the same thing 😅. But the new engine oil filter switched to the traditional 1-piece style. No more weird cartridge filters

      Thanks Kai! I'll definitely share this with them.

    • @MotivxTools
      @MotivxTools ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kai, thanks for comment... we'll check it out. In your experience, do the threads on the plug strip, or does the internal hex strip out?

    • @MotivxTools
      @MotivxTools ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, yeah some of the 2022-2024 models are switching back to a spin-on filter. We're prototyping a 2022-23 Tundra kit right now because unfortunately they mounted the filter horizontally, so a drain hose of some kind off of the platic catch underneath is still kind of required to keep things clean.

    • @TinkerersAdventure
      @TinkerersAdventure ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MotivxTools it’s always the hex part stripping. I guess a standard hex bit just have too much slop. I have seen one tool developed specifically for this that has a tight fitting hex. Maybe there’s room for improvement. Or a complete replacement plug that has a large external drive. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

    I have their new version Toyota kit and is awesome!
    The machined oil filter wrench is impressive but I really found the foam cutout, display and functionality really cool and innovative. A better enhancement to tool organization. Especially if you could purchase empty foam cutout displays to use for one’s tools at home compared to buying foam and cutting out yourself.

    I just bought the kit wrench, funnel and filter drain plug, worked flawlessly on my Tacoma. My only question is after watching the video, noticed they made the drain plug release in black/red, mine was just silver steel. Not that it’s a huge deal and doesn’t change the working components. Just thought it looked better in black/red. Anyway love the MotivX products will be purchasing more.

It would be useful for torque wrench socket as the standard deep socket is actually causing my torque wrench rubbing against the side of my car during torquing my wheels.

      You can use a 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch drive extension between the socket and your torque wrench. This will give you more clearance between the torque wrench and the side of your car!

    Holy crap dude, what an awesome vid!! Besides for the praise of the tools, I hope everyone realizes how freekin' cool it is that Mr. Explains Things was able to get a personalized factory tour with the CEO!
    A "local" brand that I'm really into right now is PNW Components out of Seattle. They make absurdly high quality mountain biking components for a very fair price. They started out by revolutionizing the secondary dropper post market, but now have all sorts of awesome stuff. Another cool thing about them is they have a Refurbished section on their website that you can score AMAZING deals on top quality products. I will admit, I don't believe they manufacture in the USA, but the company is made up of mountain bikers that test their designs on local trails.
