Thank you for posting the music of all the previous Summer and Winter Olympics ceremonies, I have always admired the ceremonies the most. I have a suggestion can you upload Hand in Hand by Koreana who performed at the Opening Ceremony of the Seoul 1988 Games.
Kudos to the ceremony director for actually choosing someone as experimental as Björk instead of just some local singers like other olympics tend to do.
@@sirsnakespeare Weirdly enough not long after this performance Bjork took a couple of days off in Greece and heard some Orthodox musicians playing with bells and it inspired her so much she made an entire album using just vocals and bells lol. Nothing wrong with "Local musicians"

I just turned 13 years old when I discovered Bjork and I’ll never forget the moment I first heard her voice. We’re the lucky ones. Life changing for sure.
I was 10 and actually attended the last reherasal before the official ceremony, where she didn't perform. So I didn't pay attention to the main event the next day til Björk graced the stage. That was that, I was a changed boy.
Exact same story. About to turn 12. Watching with my family. Took my breath away. My jaw hung open from the first line and I only noticed after the song was over that my mouth was open the whole time I was so stunned. I remember then thinking to myself: " *This* is art." Got Medúlla for my birthday the next month, and never looked back since :) (Though as I later found out, I've been unconciously a fan of hers from even before that as I didn't know in the beginning that she was the same artist who sang All is Full of Love and It's Oh So Quiet which I loved at an even earlier age.)

Yeah, I know and I agree! But I said that one of the most beautiful because of all context, not just about the singer. PS: Bjork is not even in my top 100 of the best singers, but this opening was very good and I have to admit it.

I don’t know why but I think of her performance here & “I’ve Seen it All” from the Oscars and I realize how blessed we are to be in her presence.❤️❤️❤️
Fun fact from an insider. The show would have been great er if the hydrologic platform had worked. The plan was for Bjork to be elevated to the same hight of the screen, around 10 meters, if I'm not mistaken. Still, it was absolutely beautiful!!
Augusto yes it was, one of the very few times she did it, although can you hear those notes? She never uses autotune or that stuff a lot of singers use, so. It was more about the performance, create an ocean in the middle of the Stadium, kudos to her.
I think this performance was a victim of circumstances; her original plan was to perform it live, but wasn't there like some disc they didn't bring so they basically kind of screwed her over? The performance is awesome though, but I hope there are multiple dimensions so at least someone among them could have seen a live version.
