My Bullmastiff is 2 years old now. I made sure he got used to being around other people and other dogs since I got him at 12 weeks old. He is the most friendly, affectionate dog I have ever owned. His drooling happens right after drinking water and that is it so far. With any larger breed, it is wise to meet mom and dad as I did. They both had a great temperament and that is why I picked him over another pup that a different breeder was selling.

I live with 2 bullmastiffs. When they're in public we do the "bullmastiff 2-step": take 2 steps, get stopped by "OMG THAT DOG IS AMAZING!". Then the questions: how much do they eat? (about 4 cups a day) do they need a lot of room?(no, just a big couch to lay on) are they slobbery?(Yes but what's a little spit between friends) etc. Take 2 more steps and repeat...

      Lol 😆 Yep. I have a 55kg black & brindle Bullmastiff x Neo
      Non stop questions
People have swerved around corners skidded to a stop and jumped out of their cars freaking me out. I've had people yelling from across the street.

My wife and I have had 7 over 27 years and a dozen or so we fostered over the years. At 60 years old I would not consider any of bread. Train them right and they will be the best companion ever.

Very accurate, thanks. And so so so so true about the attention they draw. I have my script down cold from origin of the breed, to what they eat (which is an all raw diet). One thing I would add - full disclosure I have 2 Bullmastiffs, male and female - these dogs are much bigger than "advertised". My 3 yr old male is 160lbs and you can still see his ribs and veins in his legs. The female looks like a twerp and she's 120 lbs. Incredibly powerful dogs. And the last thing I would add is the change in temperment from puppy to adult. My kids started out like carefree happy dogs everywhere we went and I questioned if they would actually guard anything. Now as adults, its a very different story. The develop a side that is all business. Be prepared for that. Great video, thanks for sharing. Happy to share pictures if theres a way to do that

I grew up in the small village of Houghton Regis Bedfordshire, the game keepers had two Bull Mastiffs both brindles, and they would walk them on the village green, They were employed by Colonel Park to guard his estate. Even now at 73 i find them an impressive breed of dog.

We absolutely adore our big boy. He is 8 now & starting to slow down & get very grey.
So much personality & probably the brightest dog I've ever met, although he hides it well.
I could honestly do without the slobber though.

You do an amazing job with your videos. I love the Bull Mastiff, I unfortunately I’m allergic to dogs, and can’t have one. I was able to play with 2 of them outside over the years. They are just so loving. I believe if they didn’t drool they would be a top 5 dog bread. Thank you so much for the videos

We had a bull mastiff. He was a wonderful dog till a medical condition took him from us. Not being able to find another that net our requirements we go a Boerboel and recently added an Anatolian Shepherd. Your spot on about the questions and spotting big dog lovers as walking these two monster babies either gets people giving us a wide berth or wanting to roll on the ground playing with them

If you love excersize, the Corso. If you love having an unchewed sofa & brief walks or simply allowing outside potty time in yard, Bullmastiff. I'm lazy & my Bullmastiff is a perfect match.

Corsos can be a handful. Powerful and energetic. Bulls love to sleep beside you and eat any threat. Either aren't easy to master, as they are strong, smart, and independent. Just be aware they both require full attention when off leash

Every dog is different. My corso is "versitile" & doesn't require extreme exercise nor is she lazy. Honestly, she just likes to be in my company and has balance. Sometimes people put all breeds under the same umbrella even though every dog is different. Speaking for myself, the corso can display a lot of separation anxiety. More than the Presa & Boerboel in my opinion. I think a bullmastiff is definitely a good choice but as stated earlier, it depends on your lifestyle.

I am picking up my new Bullmastiff puppy in two weeks. This will be my second bull
mastiff. I wanted to do more with this dog and was wondering if you thought it would be realistic to train the dog how to track. I do understand this will have a lot to do with the individual dog. I live deep in the country and my kids like to roam the woods. I thought it would be cool to teach him how to track their scent in the event they ever get lost.

I need to get a better restraining harness instead of collar and lead arrangement. He is very independant, non agressive....... so far... I have had bigger dogs but this boy is more than a handful. 1 years old boyterous maniac, hope he calms down soon. if you want to chat to women he is a real chick magnet.
