This channel was created to track the life of our Bullmastiff Tua.
Videos will be posted to show not only his physical growth, but his behavioral changes, obedience level changes, and our overall experience with the Bullmastiff breed.
This will hopefully help anyone interested in the Bullmastiff breed by showing what to expect at very specific times all throughout a Bullmastiff's life!
Although this will be more specifically about the Bullmastiff breed, the videos should give a very general idea about what to expect at certain ages of many different dog breeds.
    Thank you!

You have a good looking bullie boy! We have a red bullie too...she is a sweetheart - a 140-pound girl we named Minnie! Minnie was my first bull but I have had boxers in the past and Minnie is two years old now. I am married with two young boys in the house and I am the classical "dog guy." In my opinion, the Bull Mastiff is the only breed I will have now. I love my boxers but I look at the breed now compared to when I got my first boxer (back in the 90s) and I do not care how they have made the breed smaller and leaner. I love the powerful build of the bulls and how they look like they have a tree trunk for a neck! Biggest thing I could share with you about our Minnie is that it was very important that there was someone in the house that Minnie recognizes as the pack leader. Your Bull Mastiff cannot be the alpha or else you will have serious trouble. Minnie was very willful and stubborn her first year with us (we brought her home at 10 weeks old). She was always challenging her place in the order of her pack...sometimes it was adorable and fun, sometimes it needed immediate attention. Minnie was never aggressive or confrontation but remember...Minnie grew up to be a 140-pound bullie so this had to be addressed. I would say that Minnie's maturity started to hit around 14 months and it was dramatic. Instead of always being in the same room, now she wants contact. Very affectionate, giving, and very attentive to her family and how we are all doing. I will wrestle with my boys and she will get in the middle of it and break it up. She does NOT like it. My impression is that her reaction would be more severe if it was someone else wrestling with my boys. We all love and spoil Minnie! She was a stubborn "punk" as a puppy but she did a complete switch when she matured. Love Tua each and every day! The beautiful bullies are not here with us long enough, but it is magic when they are!

Thanks for the long comment and all of the insight! Not only do they look like they have tree trunks for necks, thru feel like tree trunks! Tua's neck is hard solid muscle. Even his throat 😂

We have just lost our 11 year old Bullmastiff. We are devastated and would love to get another one. She wasn't very big being a runt, but still very strong. She had loads of friends and we would be out a couple of hours each morning running around with all of them. It was only last Friday that we had her euthanized so it's pretty raw. I miss her terribly.

I thought I'd let you know that I now have another big personality. Her name is "Mitzi", she's quite a bit bigger than "Yuffie". She's 14 months old so we're still getting to know each other. I still miss my last girl, but am grateful that I have another for a few years. She will probably be my last as I'm getting too old to raise another. But we'll enjoy the time we have together. 🐶

So happy to have stumbled on your videos-- I have a Dogue de Bordeaux who just turned 1 year old on December 1, so was interested to see the development of your Bullmastiff, and how they compare. My boy is 129 pounds, still pretty lean, but only about 26" at the withers. So many similarities though, from the drooling, to the active times morning and evening, and barking/guarding only around the home. Also, I feed full raw-- so good for them! Anyway, Tua is a beautiful dog-- I look forward to seeing more updates.

I lived on a sail boat with my last bullmastiff and he despised the water. We got him a doggy life jacket and when he was in that he swam well enough, but without it his doggy paddle was pathetic. We tried to teach him how to swim but the lessons weren’t very effective considering he hated every second of being wet. (He also got ear infections every time he got his ears wet so that was another drawback.) In my experience he seemed to swim well enough when he needed to, kind of like a survival instinct, but he never had fun in the water.
My current Bullmastiff will splash around in shallow water but won’t go in past his mid legs and if the water touches his stomach he’ll freak out and run away from the water. 😂
I’ve known one Bullmastiff that liked swimming though so you never know with these guys I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

You should definitely give raw chicken frames they are great for your mastiff’s teeth and gums also bad dog breathe. Your dog should stop growing in height at 1 year old but will fill out now to approximately 70-85 kg it is important that they remain trim and not fat so be sure when he is of solid build as to not over feed

    • @bullmastiffnd9784

Depends on the person really. You need to have the right attitude and willing to put in the work. They are a huge dog and grow fast so socializing and training is key starting from day one. If you've never owned a dog before you may not by comfortable with training methods for example. And a big dog magnifies the difficulty. However under the right circumstances and with the right person I think it would be fine

One question, my bullmastiff is 1 year and 2 weeks old and i have never fed him with a raw diet, what do you think if i start doing the half and half diet like you do with Tua, and what about the parasites they can get by eating raw food ?

    • @bullmastiffnd9784
      @bullmastiffnd9784  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think you would be just fine. Do t just go right into it though. Do a slow transition and build up to that 50/50 split. I have a min pin who is 10 and she never ate raw a day in her life until I got Tua. I started mixing it in with her as well and she's done just fine. As far as parasites go it hasnt been an issue. I know salmon is a no go because they can carry stuff that can't be killed by freezing, but most other fish you need to freeze for a week before feeding and any parasite they may have will be killed.
Do a lot of research and come to your own conclusion. Here is a video I made when I first started feeding raw
