This is really an eyes opening. My wife is actually doing similar thing with a company that has a health product called Rain Soul and Rain Core. He's currently ranked as Manager and earning some passive income every week based off of products she order and sold. If you don't mind, can you help us look into the company, maybe I should tell her to quit before it get worse.

In any business, you earn by selling a product or service. In MLMs you become the company's customer. They want you to buy their products, most of which you don't need. The company earns by selling their useless products to you. They motivate you by giving you fancy titles. They play mind games which make you high and drain your pockets dry. MLM simply means MAKING LIFE MISERABLE.
Almost everything is a scam this days, all just branded with different names, the new one now is to buy courses that can't give you any value 😢, they claim to teach you how to make money online, when you buy their course 😪
They now put up fake job vacancies online, I still went for one the other day thinking I was going for an interview but....... 😂😂😂

Growing up in my Early 17's, 18 I experienced so many of this scams and I told myself never again will I fall victim and my fiancee whenever I tell her this are scammers,she always say I'm discouraging her until she was scammed

Because most of the Schick is about "wellness", "leave the 9-5, etc
It is part of the con. Some of the products are even fake, no real proof of the products solving any problem.

MLM is just a waste of time. I was in Forever Living Product. I made a bit of money but their product is just too expensive and can't really cure anything. Their products are like subscription.... You must always come back for more

I fell for this Neolife nonsense, branding it here as a 7-figure income project. I lost 85,000 Naira, and it was closer to when I was going to pay for my house rent. I did the registration thing because I was told that I would be earning from the project on a weekly basis. When I needed my money to get my house rent sorted out, I was still yet to receive money from the platform. I had to cry to the DMs of the so-called higher executives. They said there is nothing they can do about it, the money is non-refundable, and that I should be patient so I can join the list of people they would pay.
Nothing good came out of it. I missed a lot of opportunities that period because that money would have helped solve my needs. It turns out that I did give away my money to them. The high point of it during the seminar was the fact that I was told that I wouldn't need to physically go out to get two people to register, that the system is an automatic automated referral system. This English probably confused me and made me believe the process. I ended up being given over 20 numbers to call to convince them to attend their business opportunities seminars.
There are so many things to talk about about these people and their level of operations. Companies like Zenith Bank and Dangote should sue them for using their names, brands, and logos as business partners or sponsors, which turned out to be false. I smelled a rat, but I didn't listen to my intuition. I was looking for an extra way to make more money while I work as a digital marketer and web developer. It's okay. You all be safe...
I always warn my people about this scheme, but they never listen. I can still remember how that Russian guy scammed so many Nigerians.

I am not into MLM.
However, someone invited me some years back and i spent months understanding how it really works due to my very curious nature.
What I found is that, the system does work for a few people without any background. However, most people never make much from it.
I also criticised and talked negatively about it, until I eventually realised that this is how life really is - most people will never make become millionaires and billionaires in life no matter how much people complain.
How many people are truly wealthy?
Just about 4% of the world's population are truly wealthy - 4% of 8 billion people control the entire world's wealth!
This has been like that since time immemorial and it will continue to be.
In any industry whatsoever, there would always be only few people at the top and many people at the bottom - that's how life is.
The MLM model in itself is not bad.
It is the people who are into it who lie to people and mislead people that are bad.

Multi Level Marketing is not wrong. The concept is legal. Notwithstanding some MLM companies and distributors implore unethical practices which are anti MLM thereby giving the industry a bad name.
Direct selling is legal, but introducing pyramid schemes into MLM make it illegal. Any company asking you to register anyone under you to earn a commission is running a pyramid scheme.

The MLM concept works on the basis that a few make money from the many. As long as you understand that & that MLM is bound in by a functioning legal system to protect the consumer then it may work. Nigeria is not the environment to operate such a business.

Mine was 2021, and I regretted it.
The one and only one I fell for was A2W Avenues to Wealth paid 50k as far back as 2010 and I still regretted that up till today

I learnt something tangible, they did a great job with the packaging, branding, and it gave them a lot of traffic, even though they had a bad product🤣
You should be happy that you didn't join at all. There are a lot of people who joined that useless Labuena Vida with their fake white cars and packaging, only to realise a few month later that everything was a scam from the beginning.
GNLD chop my 11k 2015 after my NYSC, I fell sick after attending many meetings from 6:00am and got home most times 12am. I almost died on some occasions. It was 🇳🇬 dangerous and stupid, I quit after 2 weeks and couldn't get up from the bed for 1 week because I was sick and broken down. Please do not be deceived, run from any form of make it quick schemes wether MLM or the others. There is integrity in your labour from humble beginnings.

The funny thing here is .. this principle of MLM is a very good and efficient one.. anf the fact remains that while it is being dubbed that name and tagged as evil the basic principles of MLM works in every aspect of business.(Guess what the airdrops everyone does nowadays also uses the principle of referrals also known as MLM).

Nice critics but it is stemming out from an hatred perspective just as you have mentioned in your content. I am an entrepreneur, I leverage network marketing business model. You are a TH-camr, you leverage social media and you need people to invest their time to watch your content.
There are different perspectives to life!!! I did my findings before deciding to leverage network Marketing, and I understand what ponzi scheme is, I didn't do MMM because obviously someone with business sense will see it has nothing to offer, I have friends who lost their funds. I also understand business development as a holistic topic. We have many people who have failed in content creation, we have a lot of people who have given up or quitted things that others will apply energy in and succeed.
So I believe life happens in everything we do. You have your point based on your research that didn't make it entirely right.
You are also right by saying the product NM company sells are expensive, however there are some product even at your level that you can't still buy because your wealth level is not yet there, does that mean people are buying it?
Is it everyone that can afford an iPhone? No! I understand the product most of these company sells are expensive for a typical Nigerian but every product has it audience. Just like every content has its audience.

The title is a bit misleading, it could have cited that MOST or SOME MLMs, however, I like the fact that you didn't lump ALL MLM companies together. I have had a funny experience that ticks all the boxes you mentioned, however, I have also taken the time to study the principle. The principle is excellent IF it can be executed without greed. Recently, I helped developed a system that does proper MLM without the greed often associated with MLM companies. Perhaps, when the execution picks up and it's achieving all the standard requirements, I will let you know.

It was forex MLM that caught me. During the 2020 pandemic panic. IM Academy US based company that claimed that they can train people to learn forex in one month. Then each person will pay $325 and also recruit 3 more persons. Then you'll be guaranteed $600 if those 3 persons invite 3 other person's. 😢. Or better still, trade with your $100 and make daily forex profits that can amount to $300 in 30 days at $10 per day. Sounded too easy. Until Forex show me shege pro max.
If you need to bring anyone into a business to be profitable the business is most definitely a scam.

I fell for this Neolife nonsense, branding it here as a 7-figure income project. I lost 85,000 Naira, and it was closer to when I was going to pay for my house rent. I did the registration thing because I was told that I would be earning from the project on a weekly basis. When I needed my money to get my house rent sorted out, I was still yet to receive money from the platform. I had to cry to the DMs of the so-called higher executives. They said there is nothing they can do about it, the money is non-refundable, and that I should be patient so I can join the list of people they would pay.
Nothing good came out of it. I missed a lot of opportunities that period because that money would have helped solve my needs. It turns out that I did give away my money to them. The high point of it during the seminar was the fact that I was told that I wouldn't need to physically go out to get two people to register, that the system is an automatic automated referral system. This English probably confused me and made me believe the process. I ended up being given over 20 numbers to call to convince them to attend their business opportunities seminars.
There are so many things to talk about about these people and their level of operations. Companies like Zenith Bank and Dangote should sue them for using their names, brands, and logos as business partners or sponsors, which turned out to be false. I smelled a rat, but I didn't listen to my intuition. I was looking for an extra way to make more money while I work as a digital marketer and web developer. It's okay. You all be safe...
