Seems like Rwanda would do a better job running The Congo than the Congo runs itself.

This is good history. But at 7:55, the RPF was not led by Paul Kagame. It was led by Fred Rwigyema who died on the second day of the invasion in 1990. That's when Kagame was called back to come and take over to lead the group. Kagame was in the US on a military course at the time of death.

I see this as a territorial dispute and not an ethnic one; everyone in Eastern Congo is Congolese, Tutsi, or Hutu. It is the responsibility of the DRC to protect its citizens by stopping the Hutu militias from attacking Tutsi civilians. On the other hand, it is also Congo's responsibility to protect Hutu citizens from the M23. That said, Rwanda has no respect for Congo's sovereignty and this should be a cause of concern for other African nations and UN at large. Also, the Congo govt has shown bias in recent wars by favouring Hutus as such, Tutsis in Eastern Congo feel vulnerable, and as the host country, the DRC should integrate both communities into society without bias. That said, this should not distract us from the bigger picture; Congo is being stabbed on all sides, its wealth is being siphoned and its people are oppressed. M23 is not the only culprit, the West, East, Congo gvt, and bad African neighbours. My heart goes out to Batoto, ba Kongo

I have the following 3 questions in my mind: 1) Considering the 2016 film "War Dogs", are African people even bothering putting a price tag on each resource that is invested in these conflicts that ravage our continent. How much is each bullet before and after it is fired from the gun - the price tag of the explosion before and after it explodes into shattered pieces taking with it flesh and breath. How are these resources funded and what it the return on investment? How many African people have died in the hands of other Africans and is each decomposing body a good justification for the return on the investment? Perhaps the answers can be found in knowing the "Investor(s)". 2) What strategy and How much money, time and emotions did South Africa invest in the Gaza war compared to the efforts in this DRC conflict? What is South Africa's return of Investment on the Gaza war compared to the DRC conflict. What would it cost South Africa if it were to invest in African affairs what it seems to be willing to invest in the Gaza or any other issue on the global stage? 3) The two questions above may only isolate South Africa, DRC and by extension Rwanda. These questions deal with a current hot topic within a sea of luke-warm topics. All Africa is a kitchen wherein there is million pots cooking and it is inevitable that the pots will burn and the one on the focus is the one burning at that given moment. When giving attention to one burning now, others are neglected and they too will take turns to burn and get their turns to be focal points. It's a never ending cycle and the cooker will never have a good meal to enjoy. ANSWER: A divided and destabilized Africa is worth more than all the bullets that are rusting in the corpses all over Africa and the explosive shells that have rendered homes and infrastructure into thick dark smelly dust. With the current status quo, one thing is certain, Africa's past is mirrored in the presence and it is showing us the future - POETIC PAIN AND ARGONY for previous, current and future generations. This is true for South Africans, Congolese, Rwandans and all the African peoples in the entire continent. When it comes to Africans, none of us is right, we are all to blame. Even now, we are not really dealing with the problem. The problem is that we are Hutu's & Tutsi's (Rwanda & DRC), Zulu's & Xhosa's (SA), Shona's & Ndebele's (Zimbabwe), Bemba's & Nyanja-Chewa's (Zambia) and the list goes on and on. But the solution is yet so difficult to achieve - Just being who we really are "Ntu" (the true "one" and "all" African nation). the conglomerates/ multinational companies with the foreign empires(hand in hand) are backing both sides of the war, geopoliticallly it gives them influence and relevance in a heated region and finally the power of the most important mineral resource which comes at an extremely cheap price compared to how much it would cost if the governement/ country was well structured. Generally a growth in Africa would end the foreign empire quick and that would never be allowed.

And I thought our tribal conflict here in Nigeria is serious until I watch this video. A conflict created by the European colonial masters and still growing till date. Brothers and cousins killing each other and never let love and forgiveness solve old wounds over time. It's a painful shame.
