It's good to see that you mentioned the short versions of Hockenheim, it is a great layout that acts as an equalizer between very different cars. It's also fun to drive, sadly often overlooked for the GT Track. Honestly, I like it more than the new GP Track as it flows well. And the old Waldstrecke.....well good Memories from slinging a virtual F1 car through the woods at 300+ km/h. As a kid it was the only place, bar Monza, that let you run the car flat out as much as you wanted, without any annoying corners to interrupt that. 😉😋
Another great video, Mike. I got the "full meal deal" Racin' USA. I'm dying for Road America. Road America, Laguna, COTA, and Sonoma??? I probably wouldn't race anything else for months.
Just picked up the base game and the Track pack with the steam summer sale after your recent vids on it, im gonna give it a try in VR since PC2 was amazing in VR
Open question: Is the physics really lacking as much as Jimmy Broadbent and others say. Some creators Make it sound like a slightly better PC2 and I just can't really imagine it's that bad. It makes a purchase decision kinda difficult
I think Jimmy has valid points, but might over exaggerate the flaws sometimes. It's lightyears better than PC2 when you use the custom rfuktor ffb file.
@@TerminalVelocity031 Agreed, Jimmy B has some lingering issues with PC2 but these are being addressed with every update Reiza make. I think the big difference with AMS2 is that Reiza is committed to making it the best sim possible whereas Slightly Mad Studios with PC2 had a 'dump & run' approach which meant bugs were left unaddressed after launch. AMS2 is so much better than PC2 it almost feels like the 'real' devs finally got hold of the engine.
No, I completely disagree with Jimmy's comments. For context, I've been doing a variety of motorsports IRL since I started karting in 1996. Some of the default setups are really bad in this game, but some are fantastic - best examples IMO are the 911 GTE, the Ultima GTR (something I've driven IRL at Cadwell Park) as well as most of the Brazilian stuff, and the M1 Procar, and the Merc GT1. A lot of the criticisms have been aimed at the bounciness, but for me AMS2 is the only sim that actually conveys how bouncy cars can be on certain tracks - just take a look at Kevin Estre's Nordschleife onboard for a real example. It's not perfect by any means, but it's comparable to the other top sims. The braking feel is great as is the force feedback, I'd argue it's the best at that, and when you add in all the options (weather, time/day/season) it's definitely the best offline sim since the original AC.
@@JacobCappello The game isn't moddable at all, one of the limitations of the engine. The most you can really do is a custom FFB profile. It's worth picking up for sure, keep it in your Steam wishlist. Buying the DLC separately doesn't seem to be massively inflated vs buying in bulk, so just add what you want. The Racing USA is definitely the best DLC pack though.
@SayreHarder I just bought ACC on sale a few weeks ago, is that also a bad sign? 😉 It is summer sale and a huge number of games are discounted. It's like saying something that's discounted on cyber monday or prime day is a bad sign. I strongly disagree.
What other tracks do you think Reiza will port over from SMS Pcars 2? im Specifically talking about the future of Racing in USA DLC.. Road American, Indy and COTA seem like no brainers.. personally id like to see Seabring, Canada tire motorsport Park or even Detroit, so we could see more IMSA circuits were not use to seeing in other sims..
I really want to like AMS2, but it wreaks of pCars 2 which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just more so the bounciness and in some cases completely unpredictable handling (GT3/GTE). It's also sad that the only insanely good tracks in terms of quality are the DLC tracks, the rest look like they're ripped from an early gran turismo or forza motorsport, with piss poor quality and no improvements since the games launch. I really want to say for the level of immersion achievable in some instances, it's well worth the price tag, but as a whole, if you look at everything, the game is worth maybe $9.99 base, and DLC would be around $69.99, not $49.99 and $124.99 or $156.00 (NZD) as it currently stands. The DLC is perfect, the base game is far from it, like very very very far from it, like it's in Alpha stage, not release stage. Not meaning to put them down, they have a good thing going here, but it's not going anywhere, they're pushing DLC before working on the base game, that's just not how it works lol.
0:36 the header should say “Ways to Buy Automobilista 2 DLC”
I’d love to see Lime Rock and Road Atlanta on AMS2.
Lime Rock would be amazing

Another good one, Mike! Racin' USA is amazing. Also, Hockenheim! Good stuff from Reiza

Why did I think this was a preview of Racin' USA part 2 * thinking face *
"...great for lower horsepower cars to race wheel-to-wheel!"
*Cutaway to the rear end of a CLK-GTR*

@@gsam_dad5540 also one more question, I haven't really kept up with AMS2. Is the game moldable like the first or AC?

Just bought AMS2 yesterday. Immediately uninstalled all but rF2, AMS1, and BeamNG lol
Yes it is all a little confusing & very expensive. I am waiting for it to go on sale so I can try it out. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
We need more historic / vintage tracks please Reiza!
Can’t wait for the vintage Nords!

You're wrong, all the content on AMS2 has a great quality, it looks like you haven't even played AMS2 to talk this nonsense....
