For those wondering about when a predator is allowed to kill, let me explain: A Predator is not allowed to hunt/kill the young, the elderly, those who are pregnant, those who are about to give birth to its young or are in the process of nurturing their young. But if the elderly proves itself a threat then its fair game. The young and the pregnant are still off limits no matter what.
Basically what actual hunters do then. Learnt this from my late dad who was a gamekeeper here in the Highlands. If you can't get a clean kill you're a shit hunter (deer stalker in my case) or are a novice who's not ready yet.
If I remember right that in that Batman v predator comic, Batman beats it and then shows it mercy and is therefore given a weapon by some other predators and is thought of as an equal.
He shows it mercy, then it tries to blow up the batcave because it was trapped. Batman shorts out the wrist bomb and eventual kills the predator and the other predators arrive and reward him with a sword. The next batman vs predator was about bad bloods. Because batman is a predator according to their code, he can no be hunted again. But a group of bad bloods say I want that dudes skull, and it turns into predators vs predators that are hunting batman

Batman did everything not to kill it, like Batman does. In the 2nd story he was attacked by the same one from the 1st story who brought help who was also a bad blood as you said. The one from the 1st was breaking the rules cause the only thing worse than being killed by your prey is being taken alive. Also another Yautja joined up with Batman to fight them.
Predators do have a weakness. They do very poorly in cold climates, just as how Xenomorphs do not hold well against fire, and high radiation gives them a case of "brain freeze". Xenomorphs are also very suceptible to a kind of fungus that just make them rot alive.
The xenomorph is their "coming of age prey" . Humans are considered the big game hunt for them. Because its really rare for them not to send already blooded hunters for us. And half of the time they don't come back regardless.

You can tell when a kill was worthy or unworthy because a worthy kill had its spine and skull removed and taken as trophies, while an unworthy kill was skinned and hanged upside down. Yeah and if the prey is deemed worthy but it is injured like say a broken arm, the Predator will injury its own arm so that it’s a fair fight.

Wick would fire a few rounds and run, predator would catch up, kick Wick into next Tuesday or possibly stab him. Wick's vest would probably save him, but he would have broken bones or internal bleeding. If wick survives the initial encounter, he will probably bring a 40mm grenade launcher or something like an FAL with drum to put it down. A prepped Wick would be near impossible to take.
I am completely safe from predators, I'm small and weak, I'm never armed, and I'm always wearing ear buds so good luck getting my attention. I'm perfect choice for human predators though.

There is a book, I never read it but my mate in high school did, where a female human is adopted/accepted into a predator clan and hunts with them for a while. EDIT: To clarify, she is equipped with predator technology, hunted with them, lived with them, would have had to obey their laws, live on their planets, travel on their ships, she WAS a predator for a while.

The books are AVP Prey, Hunters world and then War but war and Hunters world are 2 different sequels to Prey from what I hear (I don’t have War yet) but Prey also shows that a predator won’t always follow the honour code if the predator is a little fucker who wants to hunt the humans for females.

I'm kinda miffed that they disregard the other civilian casualties a Predator does kill via explosions or collateral damage in general. That said, in any hunt there are bound to be accidents, so those standing in between the Predator and their prey are just unfortunate victims of circumstance. There are also times when a disgraced Predator is given a chance to rejoin their clan (as it were). In the old school Gamecube or PS1 Predator Game, the player controls a Predator in modern New York City and ends up in a killing spree against local gangs which incites a military response. When cornered by the military, the PC chooses to die honorably by self-destruction but they end up surviving the ship explosion. After sending an SOS, they are picked up by other Yatjua but they deemed them to be disgraced for not only failing the hunt but also failing to die by their own hand. As punishment, they send the PC off to a planet overrun by Xenomorph to die honorably in combat. Unbeknownst to the Yatjua, the exploded ship had enough debris intact for a joint effort between Weyland-Yutani Corporations to revere engineer some of their technology (especially the weapons) and enough Predator Blood to start cloning their own Predator drones. Its only years later when the Yatjua received a signal from earth from one of the reverse engineered tech that they discovered Humans now possessing their tech. To remedy this, they seek out the PC Predator, to which instead of dying on a Xenomorph planet has instead hunted all of the Xenos into oblivion. The clan then give the PC a chance to redeem themselves, by returning to Earth to seek out the bastardized technology Humans have stolen from them, it was then during this mission that they also discover the cloned Predators, to which they considered as amalgamations that blaspheme not only their race but also their culture, so the PC must also destroy the clones along with the facility that made them.

The hunt is part of a treaty the Yautja elder council drawn up to stop the various Yautja clans from battling eachother. They now become better warriors by hunting other species. Batman’s fought Predators about three different times. Four counting the one with Superman. He even fought against a Xenomorph, hopped that he never have to see one again, but fought a small group that was genetically modified with Batman villain DNA.
11:35- now, im not sure if the AVP movie is cannon or not, but there is a scene where this happens. Weyland hits a predator i believe, and the predator picks him up, then uses one of the vision modes to see that he has a cancerous growth, which leads the predator to drop him and keep moving, until Weyland i think uses a flare as a weapon, then the predator does kill him in the end.
I saw it as respecting a warrior who wants to die fighting. giving him a reletively clean and fast death rather then leaving him to be a xenomorph host. especially since basically every other human ran.

Weyland may have been ill and the predator let him go, he only killed him AFTER Weyland lit a flare in his face, either the predator was just angry, or Weyland proved he was not exactly innocent, the rules apply!

I left your guys's show I've been watching it for close to a year now. the Batman vs. Predator comic is a amazing read and a very wonderful representation of both mediums of the Batman and predator world and franchise. I strongly recommend re-reading it especially how it ends it is well worth the read it has been decades since I read it and it's still resonates in my head.
I always heard it pronounced "Yoow-cha" and that definition of Alien is reversed from the original Dark Horse comics that were considered cannon back when they were published... called the Xenomorphs "soft meat" and humans "hard meat" 'shrug'
The Predator you play as in Predator Concrete Jungle is easily my favorite member of the species. He gets disgraced during a hunt and is exiled on a barren desert planet full of Xenomorph looking things with nothing but a spear, for *100 years* before he's allowed to try hunting on Earth again to regain his honor and correct his mistake

He definitely earned his chance to take on bigger projects but I like the length of it and expanding a story from it may backfire, it may also be awesome. Would hunting elk, wild boar and stag with a bow be considered honorable by predator code? Cuz those can kill you and you'd be hunting with a subpar (by modern standards) weapon.
As a ranged attack, bow hunting would probably be at most middle of the road. You'd have to get up close and personal with the prey to earn the highest honors.
Did you like it? I do not likr all of them but the one with Danny Glover is good and I like the one based in Antarctica and I like more of them than I dislike.
Really, the Yautia shouldn't be a whole species but just a small group within their species. They should also need day jobs to finance their hobby. I like to think that the one in the first Predator film was a dentist at home. Of course, they seem more bad as when you say that being glorious honourable hunters is the centre of their whole society, especially when you realise that they can design, build, maintain and operate interstellar space crafts just as an aside. No one needs to dedicate their life to learning rocket science or plasma physics or piloting or astrogation, because everyone's life is dedicated primarily to hunting. Imagine what they could achieve if some of them were serious about science.
Maybe that's not their technology; some weaker race landed on their planet and they just killed the crew and stole their tech (and maybe invaded their homeworld for more tech) ?
The Yautja have a very structured society that is ruled by a council of elders who achieved the highest distinction in battle. We only see the warrior clans, but with such advanced technology, there has to be scientific ones.

There’s a theory that in the first movie there where in fact three predators, with two of them dying from the hell fire of bullets Dutch’s team were throwing out. I don’t remember about the exact details but I watched it somewhere.
I think it was one of the novels (where Noguchi had given up the Predator life and living like a normal person) where a Yautja admits, in an inner monologue, that Humans, or "Oomans," are prey to worry about because they can adapt like the Xenomorphs. It was a novel where some rich dude has a hunting reserve but grows his own Xenomorphs and trains them to use guns. It was a little silly but still a good read.
There have been multiple DC/Dark Horse comic book crossover miniseries featuring superheros vs aliens and/or predators. A few that come to mind and in no particular order are:Batman VS Predator, Batman VS Predator 2, Batman VS Predator 3, Superman/Aliens, Superman/Aliens 2: God War, Superman VS Predator, Batman/Aliens, Batman/Aliens 2, Batman & Superman VS Aliens & Predators, JLA VS Predators
That reminds me of the scene from The distinguished gentleman movie. They're all out duck hunting with these fully automatic rifles and they scare a bunch of ducks in the air and they just empty clip after clip into the ducks. A single one falls to the ground and Eddie Murphy says must have died of a heart attack. Oh that's a great movie

I don't think it was mentioned in this video, but in one of the first AvP books It mentions that the female predators are much bigger and stronger than the males. They don't let the females hunt because they consider it unfair to their prey.
That Batman fan flick with The Predator was really well done. It almost started Sly Stallone and Mark Hamill. It was called Batman Dead End. The Predator know as Big Red was turned into a MacFarlane toys action figure.

I read in one comic that they go through a painful coming of age ritual to create the '"dread locks".
In the books it is a weave, hence the painful processing and if they show signs of pain they take them out and start over.

The hunt is part of a treaty the Yautja elder council drawn up to stop the various Yautja clans from battling eachother.
They now become better warriors by hunting other species. It's the only logical conclusion given their penchant for war. In regards to humans, our cunning is the trait they are most interested in.
That’s the one thing I love about the predators. They are one of the few if any movie monsters that have honor.

Batman’s fought Predators about three different times. Four counting the one with Superman. He even fought against a Xenomorph, hopped that he never have to see one again, but fought a small group that was genetically modified with Batman villain DNA.

11:35- now, im not sure if the AVP movie is cannon or not, but there is a scene where this happens.
Weyland hits a predator i believe, and the predator picks him up, then uses one of the vision modes to see that he has a cancerous growth, which leads the predator to drop him and keep moving, until Weyland i think uses a flare as a weapon, then the predator does kill him in the end.
Human showed will to kill or defend other members of it species.
And maybe the pred thought the human was worthy at that point
I saw it as respecting a warrior who wants to die fighting. giving him a reletively clean and fast death rather then leaving him to be a xenomorph host. especially since basically every other human ran.

Weyland may have been ill and the predator let him go, he only killed him AFTER Weyland lit a flare in his face, either the predator was just angry, or Weyland proved he was not exactly innocent, the rules apply!

I left your guys's show I've been watching it for close to a year now. the Batman vs. Predator comic is a amazing read and a very wonderful representation of both mediums of the Batman and predator world and franchise. I strongly recommend re-reading it especially how it ends it is well worth the read it has been decades since I read it and it's still resonates in my head.

He definitely earned his chance to take on bigger projects but I like the length of it and expanding a story from it may backfire, it may also be awesome. Cuz those can kill you and you'd be hunting with a subpar (by modern standards) weapon.
As a ranged attack, bow hunting would probably be at most middle of the road. You'd have to get up close and personal with the prey to earn the highest honors.

Really, the Yautia shouldn't be a whole species but just a small group within their species. They should also need day jobs to finance their hobby. I like to think that the one in the first Predator film was a dentist at home.
Of course, they seem more bad as when you say that being glorious honourable hunters is the centre of their whole society, especially when you realise that they can design, build, maintain and operate interstellar space crafts just as an aside. No one needs to dedicate their life to learning rocket science or plasma physics or piloting or astrogation, because everyone's life is dedicated primarily to hunting. Imagine what they could achieve if some of them were serious about science.
Maybe that's not their technology; some weaker race landed on their planet and they just killed the crew and stole their tech (and maybe invaded their homeworld for more tech) ?
The Yautja have a very structured society that is ruled by a council of elders who achieved the highest distinction in battle.
We only see the warrior clans, but with such advanced technology, there has to be scientific ones.

There’s a theory that in the first movie there where in fact three predators, with two of them dying from the hell fire of bullets Dutch’s team were throwing out. I don’t remember about the exact details but I watched it somewhere.

I think it was one of the novels (where Noguchi had given up the Predator life and living like a normal person) where a Yautja admits, in an inner monologue, that Humans, or "Oomans," are prey to worry about because they can adapt like the Xenomorphs.
It was a novel where some rich dude has a hunting reserve but grows his own Xenomorphs and trains them to use guns. It was a little silly but still a good read.
There have been multiple DC/Dark Horse comic book crossover miniseries featuring superheros vs aliens and/or predators. That reminds me of the scene from The distinguished gentleman movie. They're all out duck hunting with these fully automatic rifles and they scare a bunch of ducks in the air and they just empty clip after clip into the ducks. A single one falls to the ground and Eddie Murphy says must have died of a heart attack. Oh that's a great movie

I don't think it was mentioned in this video, but in one of the first AvP books It mentions that the female predators are much bigger and stronger than the males. They don't let the females hunt because they consider it unfair to their prey.
