During the round with Nickel smart using his massive laser ship I noticed that charal seemed like he was throwing severly damaged ships into his laser to protect ships with weapons to fight
I love how it feels like the devs of this game HAD to nerf the nukes because otherwise it would be the most op thing in the game, like they destroy cities irl and yet it can’t even make a hole in some measly armor in game.
@@anthonyschocke2831 without atmosphere you don't have shockwave, because it's made of compressed air, that's why standard nukes in space are close to useless, because they are more expensive than conevntional warheads, so you only have ball of fire, but that ball of fire that's a 100m radius or more is a funny vaporisation thing and remember every ship is shielded against radiation, that's why someone designed cassaba howitzer, quite funny weapon if you read about it, directed nuclear warhead.
They did the old nukes in the pre steam beta version would just instant destroy any component with on the blast zone only very high HP and defence components could survive, how ever nukes were slow, big targets with a short target range and could be avoided or taken out with point defence they also lack much power against shields so they were better as a saturation weapon to distract point defence and then as a finisher weapon once defences were breached.
Definitely like the different game modes, and I think the boss battles have a lot of potential as players build more strategies. Thanks for the vids man keep up the good work!
You asked about smooth panning, you can press F with 1 or more ships selected to lock the camera to them or you can use the "sticky camera" option found in camera settings, I would prefer either of these over using the arrow keys to pan. Alternatively you can pan by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen
I love all of the game modes. I have a little bit of an idea for future game modes. You have your main game modes and sub game modes for each. Elimination: team, boss fight, FFA. Domination: (currently only one mode) I am excited to see what modes develop from this!
At 13 minutes it was a disaster, i don't know if they knew what ship they were up against, but they really should have focused on maneuverability, because that big ship has 2 weapons that take a while to aim, and it would have been the perfect ship to abuse using fast movement.
I love these ship battles, but I really want to see at one point a 'the best of the best' kind of video. Where you take the winner from reach, and the ship they used as is, and pit it against another. Tourney style. We can find out who the best pilot/ship is.
For better panning. Try turning up the sensitivity on the mouse. In the game and on your OS. If your mouse has a DPI setting toggle maybe make use of that, or setup something like autohotkeys and make a key that toggles DPI.
Big ships defo better than lots of little ones... A little bit of camera discipline would be good... Missed some key points of the last fight. Keep it up though. Fun watch 👍

dude you seriously need to work on viewing the interesting parts of the fight lol… whenever something big is about to happen, you zoom in on basically nothing..

Technically Nukes in space ARE weaker since there’s no atmosphere to compress the explosion…

@@af2547Really? I thought without an atmosphere, the explosion isn’t pushed back by said atmosphere, thus having more energy in the shockwave.

the drawn out boss battle really showed the value of laser tech. No ammo no cry.

i just made a really cool cruiser, it uses lots of HE missiles, deck cannons, and the new chainguns
Middle mouse click is used for panning. While not smooth, it is a lot better than WASD
