Encouraged by yours and this community's videos, I tried porting during COVID quarantine. A few weeks later my son put a steel fidget spinner ring on his finger and the swelling prevented it from coming off. The steady hand that came from the cylinder grinding, gave me the confidence to use a 1” diamond wheel to cut the ring enough for wire cutters to finish the job and avoid a COVID ER. My porting is mediocre, but the practiced skill was priceless. Thank you!
Welcome to the new subscriber's. You will not be sorry. Jeremy and a drew do great work and show you how they do it in case you want to learn. Great job Hopper 👍

I bought a Mac 10 10 not to long ago no matter what I did it would not open up the saw was never really ever used I’m guessing I got a 28 inch bar on it and I can hold it up by the pull rope with out it falling. anyways I figured that the exhaust was full of carbon we’ll one hole was completely full and blocked off the other one just had a tiny pinhole still don’t know how it ran and I’m lucky it didn’t have carbon scoring

@@bellhoppersaws I gotta learn some how lol, hope ya bear with me here. I know what glands are in marine applications. What are they in relation to a 2 stroke? Piston skirt??
So my question to Jereme and anyone else who knows is...Will there be carbon buildup regardless of whether the proper mix is being used? Have you worked on any old saws that didn't have any buildup or will using the correct mix eliminate that? I welcome all comments thanks!
I'm currently porting a 610 which is very similar to the 10 10 and was wondering if I took the transfers down to the bottom like you did on a 610 would that be a good or bad idea ?

Hey y'all. I haven't seen too much inside transfers on the older saws. Pretty cool how they rotate. Is that to even out the pressure on the rings?
Yes it helps keep the rings from riding out of the glands
@@bellhoppersaws I gotta learn some how lol, hope ya bear with me here. I know what glands are in marine applications. What are they in relation to a 2 stroke? Piston skirt??
@@gismo83 hey buddy im talking about the grooves were the rings go we call them ring glands or ring lands
@@bellhoppersaws Sweet bud, got it. Appreciate ya
Hey Bellhopper, where can I find dog spikes for my 7-10a or if you have any can I buy them off you?
Bell hopper what’s your back log looking like ? I wanta get a 10-10 over to you for some port work
Give me a few weeks to see if i can get a few done buddy

Yes after you switch to the newer 2 stroke oil it doesnt build up carbon like the old sae 30 oil did even at the old ratio
@@bellhoppersaws Thanks buddy!

Hey Jerme, what did you think caused all the carbon build up?
The old mix at 16:1 was what caused alot of it the newer oil dosnt hardin so bad
👍
So on the transfers are you widening? Widening and raising roof or lowering floor? Also are you widening the intake?
Im still lookn 4 a 10-10 lol wish me luck
I still learning. Thanks
Have a great day guys!!! 💛🖤👊👍
what porting tools are you using, dremel?

She's going to breathe better now, wow that was alot of carbon.
I need that thing
If carbon was worth anything, you would have made a buck or two off that baby.
FIRST,!!!
