So, If someone was to have Wiseco make a run of 10-10 forged pistons that have ring pins, a person could then technically remove the exhaust bridge to make way more exhaust flow. That may be a workaround for more potential with these saws. Wiseco says they will custom make any piston but need to make a minimum batch of around 300.
Just use a honelite 360 piston. Has all of what you stated. Thin rings that are pinned, wider exhaust side piston skirt. Its about 1.300" wide so you can widen the exhaust as much as you want. Just file/flatten the exhaust side flange so you dont need to use the dumb mcculloch gasket. Dont remove the bridge just thin it. Keep those rings in good shape for a long time. Your squish will reduce by around .020" since the piston is taller. You will need to thin the connecting rod by about .015 but just sand that on a belt sander. The piston skirts are short so youll gain about 20° of intake duration. Ive done two saws now and they land around 175° so it does get finicky but she runs like a banshee. I got mine up to 5.07hp on the dyno.
@JandSChainsaw I thinned mine a ton it's probably only a little over ⅛ to ³/¹⁶ now I'm worried....haven't put it together mabey I can just chamfer the heck out of it on the corners
That saw seems to have weird port timing numbers(very short intake duration propably because the exhaust duration is also pretty short) yeah they are old saw. How much compression those things have stock? I wonder how they would run with added compression and exhaust duration at 150 and intake duration at 120 with 18 degrees of blowdown... just thinkin that if they could have more intake with raised transfers.
I've tried increased intake duration they don't like it a strong 1010 will make 130psi..I did do one with a raised exhaust tighter squish and modified transfers saw is really strong search mac 1010 hot saw
@@JandSChainsaw allright. Yeah checked your hot 10-10 and it was running great. Wierd that they dont like increased intake at all. I have a Husqvarna 55 that i ported and it has 164 degrees of intake duration and is running pretty good with 8pin. 325 and you can see it on my channel. I believe 55 can get away with that kind of duration because the intake is quite small.
@@JandSChainsaw Well, I did it. I got myself a pair of 10-10's(I blame you if my wife finds out). One running and the other has really good compression. I have watched this video about 4 times, you are about the best on 10-10's at showing what and where to port on these. Thanks.
@@JandSChainsaw I not got to run one yet I got 2 that needs to be fixed lol a pro Mac 10-10 an jus a 10-10 non chain brake points model. Hope to get em both goin an at least one ported.

id also have them make the crown .020 taller

What a great video thank you.I'm thinking I might attempt my pro mac 700
Next time take the bridge out and make two pins out of drill bits.
How much can you thin the exhaust bridge?
Very little

Excuse my ignorance but what is a cartridge roll bit for the dremel. I’m in the process of porting a 10-10a
lol not ignorant at all ...you need a mandrel for an 1/8"collet,1/8" is what the dremel accepts...as for rolls i reccomend 1/4x1-1/2x1/8"...

@@Ketis1985 the intake on a 1010 is really wide as well as poor compression and the weird transfers
Love my pro 10-10 for there size you can’t beat them
I'm currently porting a 610 and this was helpful
Those make strong saws ported
Wow, that just scared me off getting a 10-10 to play with. Haha.
Haha don't let me scare you away...

It cuts ok the 10-10s even ported are not what alot of others make them to be..still fun old saws...

Great video, I was super interested to see those weird transfers.
I'll take a crack at one soon I think.
Very nice
Nice information. Btw, in what part of US does people have this accent ?
I'm in va..
