    I run the DD507 and love it. Once you use a good aftermarket controller you will never want to use stock controllers ever again. I would suggest to run the best controller you can afford. With that in mind you are correct that if you are running on a small home track the DD507 might be an over kill. Very informative video. Keep the content coming.

      Thanks and I agree a good controller makes all the difference and is well worth the investment.

      Yeah with the club racing I am doing I wanted a better controller with the heavier gauge wires.

    Great video! Thank you for sharing this! I might have to reconsider wiring in brakes once I get moved and the table up! 😁👍🏁

      Thanks Scott! Yeah, if you are going to do a wired track you may as well wire it for braking, you can still use a two wire controller on a track wired for braking so at least you are ready if you want to use the brakes.

    Just ordered 4 DD500's in lane colors:) Use to build Parma's into difalco's with their upgrade kits. Like Mark mentioned in one post, they are fairly easy to work on and repair or upgrade:)

      Good choice, I love my DD502. I am going to convert all of my 505s and add the brake option.

    I was also considering a 3.5 ohm Tyco build for my home track. To be honest the base upgrades of Viper tires, brushes, shoes, gearset, etc ... work well for my Tyco 440x2 chassis. I also enjoy my AFX super G+ units a lot (aka detuned Viper)... I most likely won't buy anymore Mega G+ cars (canned motors)... I do have the Mustang Twister Orange Gt500!! Please keep us updated on your 440x2 build.

      The Viper V1 is my current favorite chassis, I will keep you posted on the 440x2 build.

    Nice video Mark! I actually broke down and purchased new controllers from viper back in Nov., but then I took down the race track and never got a chance to use them 😞

      Thanks, I did not know you took down your track. Which controllers did you get from Viper (Professor Motor)?

    I also like the 30band, use to have their best one. Couldn’t swing the cost for 4 of them. The 500s are track controllers. Almost got the ones without brakes and add them later. Jim use to sale the 30band module as a upgrade from the 17 band one to. Not sure if that is the case now?

      I am in the same boat, I added the traction control rheostat to my 501 and turned it into a 502 but my house controllers are all 505 two wire controllers, I did add brakes to one of my 505s and may do the other three now that I have a Viper track wired for braking. The 505 is a great upgrade for a home AFX track.

    Thanks for the video. I never really understood how the braking helped... now I do. Any updates on your Tyco build? I'm a Big Tyco 440x2 fan!!!

    • @marksslotcargarage

      Thanks Calvin, I decided to go with a 3.5 ohm arm on the Tyco, and not such strong magnets, the 2.8 ohm arm just did not work well for me, waiting on parts.

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks George! The Super International and the 4-Way Slit I what I bought years ago. With those two sets you can make a good many different layouts. My layout started as a 4x8 but I added a few more 15 inch sections to get it up to a 4x10 size.

    Going to up grade have mega plus and x traction a few viper cars and jag 1cars what you think about best all around controler for the price cheap or top of line

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want one controller to control Mega G Plus (high ohm motor) and other lower ohm motor cars (Viper) you will need a controller with good sensitivity that can control a wide range of different ohm motors. I am very happy with the Difalco DD505 two wire controller it can run just about any car well. DS makes a decent controller that is not as much as the Difalco controllers but I think the Difalco is worth the extra money.

    Will it work for 1/24 and 1)32 to

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      The DD501 is designed for the HO scale cars, for 1/24th scale the DD201 would be a better option and for 1/32 the DD301. I think I could use my DD501 on other scale cars I would need to get a different value resistor network, the resistor networks can be replaced by just pulling them out of their socket.

    For the cost 💰 of these Controllers. It would seem they could do something more, to protect the exposed Circuit boards. One drop & watch your hard-earned Money 💸 fly out the Window! 😤😖

    • @marksslotcargarage
      @marksslotcargarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have dropped my DD505's several times and the new one once already and have had no damage. (I don't recommend dropping them of course) Also all the parts are user replaceable, the controller can be rebuilt fairly easily if you have minor tech skills.
