my son in law disconnected my horn when it went off late at night in a residential area (battery died, a kid got out of the truck, truck thought theft and started honking). But now the clip connecting to the horn is broken. can i just get and install a new clip (connecting to the horn behind the passenger's bumper?)

What is important about the "10:30 position? It's not contacting anything different in any other position. And what is the function of the pressed in plunger under the disc that you refer to? I don't see what contacts it. Confusing and nothing is working so far.

On the back side of the horn cam there are two lobes molded into the plastic. When the turn signals are engaged and the wheel is turned, those lobes contact the cancelling springs that are in the turn signal switch. One of those springs is at about 7 and the other near 2:00 o'clock. The 10:30 position is the center point between these springs. By clocking the horn cam properly you ensure that the turn signals cancel evenly no matter if you're turning left or right.
The plunger provides constant contact to the back side of the horn cam. You would have a horn wire or another plunger attached to the tube of the horn cam that then contacts with the horn button. Which style depends on the wheel itself. The entire horn wiring system works off of ground utilizing a horn relay. When you push down on the horn button it makes contact inside the wheel completing the ground causing the horn to blow. I hope this is helpful. Please give us a call at 517-424-0577 if you need us.
