  • This offering is all about cutting a brand new steering column in half, slicing 65 millimeters out of its length and welding it back together!
    The “IDIDIT” branded component is a very good replication of a generic version of a Chevrolet tilt steering column.
    Unfortunately it was just slightly too long for the final geometry in the street rod its going into so I did a quick snip and trim and Tig.
    I must apologize for finding out at the end that my installation tool is missing in action and I needed to get the part back to the builder.
    The correct tool is needed to compress the horn ring spring to get the snap ring on.

    I was thinking if the shaft is standing up on the floor, it will push itself up inside the colunm, place the horn ring on and put on the nut to trap the horn ring so it won't spring away the first 5 attempts, 5 min more of cussing it into place and bob's your uncle.
