The J35XS doesn´t have tracers because it has a lead indicator in the hud. For some reason gaijin decided not to implement it even though it has been brought up many times in the forums. It also had better missiles and drop tanks IRL but not in the game....

A beginner on the XS can spam the 6 okayish IR missiles without getting a single cannon kill and still get good games. If you give cannon sights then it’s gonna go up in stats and get probably get marked up in BR… As for the drop tank- agreed. It wouldn’t change anything and I’d still go for six missiles with no drop tank and 20 minutes of fuel
They should have given the J35XS single flare pops (I mean it should pop one flare instead of two) and also they should have given it it's EW pod, which does have RWR and - I'm not 100% sure on that one - it might have chaff dispensers, too.
XS did not mount any EW pod. Chaff can be included with the flares in the BOP module at the rear of the plane. As for the single flare pops I do agree... i found some rare images of a pair of XS dropping flares, though it's likely more intensive documentation would be required if Gaijin were to change anything

The FS was a restored version of the Swedish J35D which mounted the pod and that's also what the J35XS is, by gaijin standard. In match it's marked as an FS so idk

No Finnish Drakens carried or mounted pods of any kind throughout service. it doesn't make sense to introduce them... no Swedish Draken had any countermeasures of any kind either. The FS name is incorrect as it is a completely different variant from the XS. Only XS received countermeasures in 1993. There were only twelve XS models specially made by Valmet in Kuorevesi from serials 201 to 223. so they likely lack the same electronics to operate any ECW pod they did not have in service existence already. around 50 in number are FS models. anything 225 and above that isnt a two seater is an FS model. FS only served at Satakunta (hävittäjälentolaivue 21) in the south and some still had Swedish stencils and labels as all Finnish Draken pilots had to know Swedish.

Honestly I'm having a blast with the mirage. I enjoy it as much as the mig23ML as far as top tier premiums go. The magic 2's are absolutely nasty. I thought about the Italian f104 but I kill them in matches too much to want to suffer on one.
With the Kfir Canard I take two Aim-9G and two 2,000lb bombs. Fly offset to the right and climb to alt. When around halfway to the middle turn in and head for a base while still slightly climbing. By the time you get there the furball has already happened and everyone should be low so you don't have to worry about being intercepted. Use the CCIP to drop the two bombs and then go full fighter mode trying to dive on unsuspecting enemies and launch your 9G from above so they get the boost from gravity and are less likely to be seen by your target. Most Players don't look up very often and they look up AND behind them even less often. The F-4EJ ADTWis crap in RB. I don't have any advice other than try to stay very low so that the enemies have to be above you and you have a better chance of getting a radar lock. It's much better in SB where it is 10.7 but again the lack of PD really hinders and hurts it. Don't buy or fly the F-4J UK.
My 3-1 in the f4juk begs to differ. Also I love tracking and smoking players who think going right side is a good idea :). I will admit the uk is worse in most ways compared to the f4s and some others. But not by enough for it to matter in application in a dynamic environment.
I bought the F-5C ages ago. It's... yeah. You really feel that weak engine. Every now and then you get that perfect dogfight where its energy preservation completely trounces the enemy, but its really not particularly beginner friendly. Maybe I just suck, too, but the guns feel very strange. I can't put my finger on it though.
jet combat is to fast to learn air combat. just my opinion. first you need to learn the awareness... positioning is key. for right positioning you need to be able to read the map, your team, yourself and the enemy. you can learn that with less frustration with the slower paced prop aircombat. ofc its totally different with missiles and supersonics. but the strategic thinking stays. its just a bit different paradigms and faster input/output required. But maybe im just old and slow. i know people that started with jets and got very very decent in it.
Any jeet has a steep learning curve for beginners but the fact that its low tech helps it, plus its AWESOME energy retention makes ot pretty forgiving and it has super long finger time with the guns. Once you learn it you will steamroll people. By far the best premium money can buy
10:22 I could see gaijin adding the F-111C into the british tree (tech tree or premium) for those who dont know, the F-111C is basically just an Australian version of the F-111A with slightly longer wings
I bought it in this Event and have to say... You get used to it. I fly it low and a bit defensive at the beginning and then dogfight the s..t out of the enemies. Turn the Radar Off and Go only on irst. With this u can sling the missiles better and the 20g load is not so Bad anymore

Let them (Team mates) get the First missiles and fish the enemies Out of the Air, when they already engaged with your mates. The draken is no fighter for First encounters. It is for preciesly fishing your perfekt target Out of the Air. AND: use Terrain as much as u can. It helps with the lack of countermeasures and visibility against enemies.
@@theantares8496 Feels a bit scummy to let my team soak up missiles, but the gripen (when it comes out) will not grind itself, so it is probably best to do that. Defyn mentioned that the J35 is not as maneuverable as it used to, but is it still much better than the rest?
@@Squeaky_Ben Teamplay is good, but you have to get exp too. And just because the other mates engage the enemies First, doesnt say that they have to die. Just remember, that you get into the fight to help your mates. It is ok. Like defyn said, the plane is very mediocre. Some planes turn worse, some turn better than the draken. You help others in their dogfight, but sometimes you have to rely on your Team, too. It is always a play for Energy. The draken bleeds Energy quikly AND you dont turn much at high speeds. So you have to find the Energy state to stay at your ~5-600kph. Air Brakes to go into dogfight and turn fast, and If u bleed to much Energy, you need to go a bit straight. And thats where you have to use the Terrain and/or rely on mates.
The F-104S/Premium 104S got moved to 11.0 in Apex Preds due to their upgrades from the G, but still, those two planes will perform exceptionally well at a matchmaker with much less radar missiles, and where energy advantage has a good reward
@@byson8628 wasnt planning to start russia. i have germany ground at 9.3br without any premium. too lazy to play props without premium time so got the dora to get to tier 5 quicker. thought dora would be a good plane to learn props (it is, i just cant carry my team)
Doras are awesome. Just make sure you get up to altitude before you engage and keep your speed high. Kinda like a jet does if it means to survive... Edit: If you're a ground player, the D-13 works very well as a multi-role fighter too. Just drop a 500kg bomb on top of something and go for enemy planes. It can rack up some nice numbers there.
Please, do not lie about the TAF, is an horrible plane to fly because you are always stuck in 11.3-12.0 games where everyone is as fast as you if not faster, far more agile and have better missiles. You can't even reach the enemy bases most of the time
Deyfn you gotta try the slat F4E (any variant), the post Mach 1 acceleration from mach 1.0 to 1.2 is extremely good right now after they adjusted the FM.
J-7D is the one I got during the last sale. It's been fun, just leaves me wanting more in terms of radar guided missiles and all-aspect IRs. I struggled at first since I thought the PL-7's were better, but once I switched to the PL-5B's, I started using the same set up as you, 3x PL-5B's and 1x PL-7
i have it and i’ve been using it to grind my tree, currently at rank VI. However, I don’t do very well in it. Whenever I can find an isolated 1v1 it’s pretty much a free kill but that’s just now how air rb works and i’m not sure how to be more effective, usually i either die right away or get 1, 2, or 3 kills before dying or winning the match. Any tips/advice?
@@mistaraa_ awareness is key in it, you got flares and chaff so missiles shouldn’t be a problem if you can keep your head on a swivel to spot them. Keep speed above mach .90 and you’ll be able to outmanuever any guns, if 3 or more are chasing you there’s not much you can do except hope they switch of for easier targets or that teammates help you. Focus on setting up for gun kills as the missiles are very unreliable
@@mistaraa_ The problem with the F5c is that you can't really catch anyone who doesn't want to be caught outside of the obvious a-6/a-10/su-25 bunch, so you should aim to engage people who are either distracted or a bit dumb. Try and keep your speed around that envelope where it retains the most energy while simultaneously forcing the enemy to bleed off as much of their energy as possible to stay with you, then it's combat flaps and guns guns. Missiles are basically only good if people are AFK or they don't suspect you. Team fights are cool but chances are you'll eat an AIM-9L from a blue A-10 who didn't bother checking for friendlies. The best thing about the F5c is that, somewhat ironically, that the F5e is better in every single way and if you become competent in the C then you're going to be absolutely clapping cheeks and dominating lobbies in the E.
This is just my opinion but F-104S TAF is no longer a decent pick. It cannot turn, it faces radar missiles that you cannot detect (the RWR can be incredibly unreliable) and the AIM-9P's are extremely flare hungry & they do not perform that well. The only thing it had going was its speed but now almost everything can catch up to you. But maybe I'm playing the plane incorrectly, so a new F-104S TAF video would be appreciated DEFYN!
After some patches Mig-23 is better premium to play. Also recommended to get F4-2 Usa missile jet. You can take Mirage too. Other planes suffers from all angle rockets.

RAFs is the finest (by quality not quantity) airforce in the world, and yet we're stuck with shitpicks, and don't even get half of the American planes at the RAF used back in the day, nor the new ones that the RAF use currently. I’ll have to agree on the Lazur, if you play it right you can easily use it to get 1-3 kills in an up tier and easily 4+ in a down which makes grinding a german tree a little easier
J 35XS is also just not worth it with what the sweden tree has to offer right now. if we do actually get a gripen, buy it during the christmas sale but i wouldn't trust gaijin with not fucking up the gripen and if they do, you'll have wasted 35€

I do want to point out one thing for the chinese J-7D. It's a downtier vehicle, getting sucked into the black hole that is 10.0 where it can just tear apart enemy planes.

Completely irrelevant to this vid, but review the F4D-1 again please! The paper wings are now made from semi-reinforced cardboard, and it's pretty fun to fly. Only AIM9-Bs, but the guns SLAP. Low speed AoE is hilarious.
Hopefully it/they come for Thanksgiving time. That A-6E TRAM didn't even go on sale so guess that won't matter anyways. But honestly the F-5C really thought that was going to hit the sale seeing how its been in the game for quite some time now even thought it got moved up in rank it should have gone on sale

Climb high make sure you only take flares so you have more. I would stay fast no need to turn unless there is very few people left. Use missiles and guns for boom and zoom. Think of it like a G55 u can turn but not until the end. This is one of my fav premiums and this is how I get shit ton of money with it.

the F-4EJ is dogshit but its better than playing through rank 6 and 7 Japan. Those are some of the most comically bad jets in the game.

I know that with the wings swept out the Mig23 will eventually outrate everything as it sits at 700 and they will drop to 500
The fact that the MiG-23 wasn't on sale, was b.s... I saved my money for it and got screwed once they announced the packs.

Great video but weird enough Im find the mirage to be a very potent and deadly plane
This is just my opinion but F-104S TAF is no longer a decent pick. It cannot turn, it faces radar missiles that you cannot detect (the RWR can be incredibly unreliable) and the AIM-9P's are extremely flare hungry & they do not perform that well. The only thing it had going was its speed but now almost everything can catch up to you. But maybe I'm playing the plane incorrectly, so a new F-104S TAF video would be appreciated DEFYN!
After some patches Mig-23 is better premium to play. Also recommended to get F4-2 Usa missile jet. You can take Mirage too. Other planes suffers from all angle rockets.

Idk why but my experience with the F4J uk was better than the Lazur M and mirage F1C

that's because it's realisticly one of the best top tier premium in the game, it shreds, he's description of it is mostly understatements, I have been using it for like a year and it's a fucking money grinder

I’ll have to agree on the Lazur, if you play it right you can easily use it to get 1-3 kills in an up tier and easily 4+ in a down which makes grinding a german tree a little easier

J 35XS is also just not worth it with what the sweden tree has to offer right now. if we do actually get a gripen, buy it during the christmas sale but i wouldn't trust gaijin with not fucking up the gripen and if they do, you'll have wasted 35€

I do want to point out one thing for the chinese J-7D. It's a downtier vehicle, getting sucked into the black hole that is 10.0 where it can just tear apart enemy planes.
Just play 11.3 rn team full of mirage f1, play it with 2 magic 2, 2 gunpods and 20 min of fuel

Completely irrelevant to this vid, but review the F4D-1 again please! The paper wings are now made from semi-reinforced cardboard, and it's pretty fun to fly. Only AIM9-Bs, but the guns SLAP. Low speed AoE is hilarious.

Climb high make sure you only take flares so you have more. I would stay fast no need to turn unless there is very few people left. Use missiles and guns for boom and zoom. Think of it like a G55 u can turn but not until the end. This is one of my fav premiums and this is how I get shit ton of money with it.
