They're not leaving. They're just moving ahead to expand their business in India and searching for a partner so that they could do a joint venture. News is being wrongly spread, taking the advantage of previously existing fear of companies moving out. And about the vehicles vw needs to make its kushaq and taigun atleast a 100mm longer and look bigger with unique features that the competition doesn't offer.
or they could cut them short (like they had done with Ameo) and turn them into sub four meter cars to compete with the likes of Brezza. Sub four meter cars attract with less than 1.2 l engines attract less taxes. Additionally they can remove non essential features like sunroof or offer them as option. more variants = more customers.
This is akin to saying, I will join hands with my competitor because as a top global player, I cannot figure out the Indian market. Partnership with M&M will be a disaster speaking historically. We want more choices in the market, want pure VW not badge engineering VW...VW need to rethink add new models, explore alternate streams of revenue etc. But statements by own top management (not media) doesn't seem to inspire confidence. Story is same with all European brands, Jeep, Fiat, somewhat Ford. On a lighter note Fiat logo is still on the showroom boards so technically they have not left the country ..😀
I am a Taigun 1.0MT owner. I am very much satisfied with my purchase. HOWEVER: My opinion is layman can't be impressed with present Taigun reasons are : relatively small size it looks like it belongs to sub 4m car like brezza nexon. terrible fuel economy in city, single digit fuel economy can't impress indian buyers, and Recommending 95 octane fuel which is 5-6 rs costly than normal fuel also affects the cost of ownership . TSI engine is gem but only for those who know and feel its potential for a new buyer it is a noise engine at low rpm in city drive they should think over mild hybrid tech. most people dont know what are better driving dynamics specially first time buyers , only good suspension cant impress majority of indian buyers . Terrible pricing: indians associate size of car with its pricing, listing car at high price and then giving discounts of 3 lakh diluted the perception, for people it is not good car which fulfil thier aspirations,it is a car which do not sell and offered at discounts they should slash the prices aggresively and stop discounts. To be very honest i wouldn't have purchased this car at its full listed onroad price of around 15.65lakh they gave it to me in 13.85lakh, including SVP so why not to reduce pricing instead of discounts. Lacks Quality control dashboard noises screeching noises EPC errors in first batch affected the perception of buyers. No one is willing to pay premium for a car which has doubts of quality issues. Bad planning of features in variants cruise control is in top model only but useless wireless charger is in highline model. Thier threatening behavious towards modification like if you do any aftermarket modification your Warrenty will be void. Creta's base model sells a lot because people want modifications, Unavailability of parts in open market unlike Hyundai Maruti Tata , i have 12 years old Hyundai verna from last 8 years i am maintaining that with genuine parts from outside the authorized service centers very economically i cant think about it with Taigun. Lack of gimmicky features like ADAS panaromic sunroof etc should be there in top models to attract a segment of buyers who only considered features over everything else. They need atleast one more low budget product (below 10lakh) to increase footfall to showrooms. Overall VW Skoda needs big outreach campaign to listen the needs issues and expectations of potential buyers. I think in top management should hire people who resonate with aspirations of mass market. It feels top management is not willing to acknowledge thier mistakes of not knowing the needs and demands of indian customers, It is buyers market not sellers market. I am writing this with my experience of driving more than 2,50,000kms. Verna 2,10,000km, Taigun 40,000km. Expecting comment from Sunderdeep PS: i dont think they will exit india but in case VW exits i ll buy Virtus with huge price cut 😂
Regarding the 95 octane petrol. It will give more mileage and will be good for your engine. So it basically is the same thing if you fill normal petrol which gives less mileage.
VOLKSWAGEN IS NOT LEAVING INDIA ,Guys Please don’t spread false news Continue Your Bookings , that was just a article and not any decision, a new vw showroom just opened in my area they are not leaving they are investing more even
Yes and mahindra's history is not good in collaboration. Ford ko bhi Chu.. banaya tha Mahindra ne. Already Mahindra is selling in good numbers. Instead of collab they will kill competition.
Not really just upper class. Middle class and lower middle class can't afford maintenance cost of German brands. They will prefer suzuki. Even if the car maybe good.
VW Skoda,20 saal mei Indian market ko nahi samajh payi .Ford bhi last moment tak showrooms open kar rahi thi and same trying to collab with mahindra. Last moment tak kisiko pata nahi chala in case of ford. Same scenario lag raha hai inka bhi. Indian masses ko quality, safety n performance nahi chahiye unko sirf average n features chahiye. Along with brands we Indian consumers are also equally responsible for exit of brands like Chevy,Fiat,Ford. Jaaneke baad bolte hai ki achha brand tha want comeback. Jab brand tha tab koi khareedta nahi hai.
What non sense. Toyota is the best selling premium brand in India. People do care about quality but VW group is known for being unreliabile and expensive to maintain. You can't blame people for VW having bad reputation. The brand is responsible.
@@alburaq3290bro you are wrong here I saw People in realistic way and in offline world they go for feature like creta and all they don’t go for turbo and driving dynamics and all things they go and see sunroof and as many screens as they can get in the price i saw some people they just bought cars for sunroof and then never use that now
All variants must have following features ..or at least 15+on road bracket cars 1.360 degree reverse parking camera. 2.Front parking sensors. 3.alll windows one touch control. 4. Car lock unlock beep sound (it really helps as notification) Sunderdeep has already raised these many time but vw management is blind n deaf...sry to say
I think they should offer many variants with non essential features as optional. Those who want no sunroof, no 360 degree camera, they will opt for a variant which doesn't have these gimmicky features. They should try to reduce the initial cost of ownership and see the sales charts go up. Mahindra is not giving their xuv 3xo base model but they market it the most.. starting price 8Lakh whatever. What if VW actually gives a bare bone base model at a starting price of 9.99 lakh. It will help in reducing taxes! Remove the arm rest - offer it as an accessory at dealer level. Remove day/night mirror also (if you must) to cut cost. Remove music system. People in India like to customize their cars. Remove Chrome. We don't need it. Offer it as an accessory.
As a Kushaq owner, they have to remove European glasses and put on indian glasses to see the market. Not everyone is an enthusiast. I love the performance and maneuvering in Kushaq compared to others but if they want big numbers then they have to check ✅ other boxes which are important for the mass Indian buyer.
They should close their Aurangabad plant to avoid losses just like Honda did by closing their greater Noida plant and from last 2-3 yrs they are making huge profits..
I bought 21.5 lakhs of Taigun , f**k this bullshit of over engineering. First VW resolve the door rattling noise it is like dabba - this happens on uneven roads. My Hyundai car doesn’t have any other complaints . Just for reason of safety and drive exp , it doesn’t mean customers are okay with rattling noise !
Veerji,VW should not partner with desi local brand because of very poor record of partnership..jinse partner kiya tha wo chala gya india se.. Also In 700 engineering, they have used ford for each and everything as making a car like 700 from ground level wouldn't have possible for a desi local brand. They will eat all technology,R&D of vw and use it in their cars & will break the JV.
The main reason behind Mahindra and Ford breakup in 2021 was that Ford wanted to launch its own version of XUV700 in India however Mahindra was not willing to supply more than 10000 units of XUV700 to Ford per annum since both the products were planned to be made at Mahindra's plant in Chakan. Mahindra is not a reliable partner when it comes to JVs with foreign partners.
@@PiyushChowdhary-y9s Lmao ur are wrong......Ford and Mahindra both were developing the Xuv700 from ground up.....But ford's version of xuv700 looked more premium that's why they broke
Given the India economy growth scenario and India becoming world 3rd largest Car markets, No exiting car companies leaving the India. Whether it’s VW, Jeep, Citron, Renault or Nissan. No car companies is leaving. Ford is also coming back. India is bit kind of market which no company can ignore for long term. We may find few new car companies coming to India in next few years.
When I ask or suggest skoda vw cars to any of my friends, they are still worried about the parts and service cost, inspite of all the packages available, the perception of being an expensive cars to maintain isn't gone.
Ford said the same thing before sudden action of leaving India. No confidence on the brand right now😅 Combined sales of both Skoda and VW is less than many brands in India so chances are very high.
@@SunderdeepSinghit is a classical case of left hand not talking to it's right hand and this is typical of European brands there is very little autonomy in these decisions given to the Indian management. So even though you may see models being tested etc, they might overnight shelve these plans one day just like how Jeep sub 4 m is coming since 2016. It would be a real shame if Mahindra were to get into it. Historically no jv with them is successful take Renault or Ford for instance. Sorry but vw have their arms up and are saying we cannot manage Indian market. This is sad but true..I would want a true VW not a concocted one with M&M design philosophy
@@butchcassidy7543 same thing happened with Ford. They were testing Ford ecosport facelift and suddenly decided to shut shop. VAG CEO will finally make the call even without informing Indian management, they might be raising funds for their Rivian investment and looking to reduce costs.

VW is NOT leaving India..VW has a lot going for it be it with Audi , Porsche , Skoda etc....Skoda India wont be developing a sub 4 meter SUV if they were going to leave coz this product is specifically made for India. Not to worry guys , this storm shall pass as well...VW is here for the long run 100%
@@AdwatismYes they will not hesitate to bail, they just have one upcoming car which they will suddenly stop and go. This statement will hit their number even more. This is a very stupid statement to give to the press if you are not leaving. I definitely think they will not be here for long.
I have booked taigun and not going to cancel anyway such premium car thanks paa Ji. Regularly watching your videos with munish ji thanks again for your precious info.🎉❤
Cancel bookings before it’s too late. Suspensions are stiff and require octane 95 petrol if you see the manual. Its more of a performance car and is good only on high speed highways which may be less than 10% of your commute
If VW Skoda gives a lots of features, then their cars will be dealbreaker as their cars are excellent in build quality and safety. Just like how Kia earned really good customer base in just short amount of time, I don’t think it’s impossible possible for VW. Main issue is, they didn’t understand indian market. Indian consumer looks toward value for money product compared to quality product. So, VW has an excellent build quality and best unmatched TSI turbo engines, they must now focus on features for the given price point and I’m pretty sure, they can give tough competition to Hyundai, Kia and other brands.
Taigun and kushaq are small congested crossover. What we want is safari size at the same price with same sturdiness.vw don’t provide all wheel drive on small crossover.
They had a big plans but BS7 implications has forced many brands to change their initial plan. Its need a huge investment. Even post Euro7 roll out how they will be able to export thats also questionable
Hi Sunderdeep, I am also a VW fan and own 2 VWs currently. You have a good connect with people in VW hence giving you my feedback. Me as a Vento DSG and GT owner do not like the interior quality of their current offerings. I am planning to go for an upgrade but need something like Jetta or T-Roc at a logical price point that too with VW level quality in interiors as well. Please suggest them🙏
We can have covered bullock cart with sunroof, Adas, LED lights on the tail of bulls and all possible features which will be selling like a hot cakes but not poor VW Skoda cars. That is the mind set of Indian buyer. I always consider that the Taigun/Virtus/Slavia/Kushaq are the best looking and best VFM cars in the category. There is absolutely no problem with these cars. Problem is with our mindset. They are ultra practical cars for Indian roads. The extra little premium is the price that you pay for active safety.
More than 90 pct of the people are not enthusiasts, they want a car which wont be heavy on their pocket for maintenance and are family oriented. Which skoda vw havent managed to instill confidence in the people. Also, even after 20 years they dont that much amount of service centers spread across india. If you are targeting only enthusiasts and not families, then you cant sell because those people are minuscule
1.VW and Skoda operating in india since more than a decade, if we go by numbers their sale has never dropped drastically year on year, infact after launch of 2.0 project their sales numbers are increasing. 2.their products target specific consumer and thei launch it at specific price point, they never had sales figures like maruti and Hyundai, they are managing with same sales count with controlled inventory planning since a decade 3.their sames numbers look less as they dont have product which comes at less that 10-12 lakhs (average price) where maruti and Hyundai is getting maximum sales 4. segment whwre VW/Skoda is launching their vehicles is at par with competitors or in some segments they are doing better, for example, exclude the same of commercial cars (swift, dezire, ertiga, aura, xcent etc) compare matuti/hyundai cars of same price point: Slavia Virtus doing better than Ciaz, verna, City...superb,octavia had no direct competator etc These news are spread by youtubers after CEO s interview where he said "we are over engineered" and after hearing a newd about JV with Mahindra, this JV or Stake selling is part of their upcoming business strategy for EVs and engines as a additional line of business (maruti uses engines which are manufactured by fiat, many of their engine parts are supplied by Ford) VW has balancing their manufacturing/inventory in a proper was and selling thei cars in balanced approach, they are exploring options where they can go asset light and focus in their core operations Chill and ignore such news, ford left because of their unbalanced investment,.VW looks sorted there
0:50 Matlab khud se Indian market figure out karke achchi cars banayi nahi ja rahi to cope karne ke liye "over engineered" bata rahe hain apni cars ko. Feature heavy Kia bhi succesful hui aur Reliability benchmark Toyota apni cars ko global prices se zyada pe bech ke bhi consistent volumes kar rha hai isi market me.
I agree!! Mr. Klaus Zellmer has Abused Bharatiya customer!!! HE SHOULD APOLOGISE!!! Waise bhi!! VW/Skoda milaa ke 4000 cars/ month!! They hardly have 1% share of the market( After 23 yrs), yet, NOTHING IS MADE IN INDIA'!!😮
Guys just read the article, they are investing heavily in India, in article they are talking about shortcomings and now they are taking it seriously. if you just look at their upcoming sub 4 meter sub compact suv - it looks big. And over engineered means if you read that interview article - he very well mentioned that they over engineered a specific manner which isnt required. So i would say read that interview before we make speculations.
After I drove and own polo 1 ltr tsi highline plus 2020 manual, i am shifting to Jimny automatic. 1 ltr tsi only good for highway driving and other parameters of their cars are fit for highways with fast lanes, add to it the buyer purchasing power constraints. No VW car is truely a match for slow moving city traffic, bad roads and that within vfm reach with size and features thrown in to sail across either aspirational or utalitarian needs of average indian car buyers.
Correct point is these cars are small in size as compared to other SUVs. I have talked with few people. They also turned to other brands due to size concern. Atleast 5 people should sit comfortably. Also people in India expect lot of features in less price which Koreans offer hence their sale is high !
Lmao. I have grand vitara and it is a gem to drive. Its as good as the germans and is safe as well. Germans ka only usp bhi mil raha ab in competition. And mild hybrid ka performance and price is same as 1.0 from VW and 1 5 of vws is rocket but so is the turbos from hyundai and strong hybrid of grand vitara.
Here are VW/Skoda problems in India, 1. Service - Incompetent Service Engineers - The people servicing these cars have no clue what they are doing. There is a vast difference between company fitment and VW/Skoda service center. - Unavailability of Parts - Have noticed this multiple times, weeks of waiting for arrival of new parts, even in their 2.0 cars. - Cost of Parts - This I could argue is "You get what you pay for", but it is expensive. 2. Perceived Value - The brand looks like it's trying for customers in the Upper Middle Class only. These families have already gone through an ownership of a Maruti or a Hyundai, A family moving up the ranks would not tolerate the problems of service and availability of parts, as they already know what a good service feels like with Maruti and Hyundai. 3. The Cars (Point in case Taigun/Kushaq) - The final nail in the coffin are the cars itself, imho the cars lack "SPACE". There is just no "FEEL GOOD" space inside the 2.0 cars. The easiest example of a car with good space I would give is the Grand Vitara from Maruti or the Creta from Hyundai, even the Elevate from Honda, the Taigun on the other hand feels cramped, it feels like a Maruti Brezza or Hyundai Venue competitor. 4. DQ200 - I don't remember any other mechanical part from a car manufacturer feared by their customers than the DQ200 gearbox. VW should just drop it from mass market 2.0 cars. imho their Torque Converter gearbox was superb in the 1.0L GT Polo. they should stick with that for 2.0 mass market cars. the DQ200 has caused more damage to VW India than good.
@@heartchakra2 Ideally a Hybrid with CVT Gearbox is the best option for city. I don't think we have any suvs in India with that config apart from the Grand Vitara.
I owe VW Taigun (my first car), Problem with these europeans companies is their expectation in terms of margins is too high. They habitual of selling in high margin with other brands like Porsche. On other hand Asian brands do not think like this. They probably believe in selling to masses, and make sure maintenance cost and running cost is low. Lot of Indian psyche is they always want to pay upfront and do not want hassle of high maintenance cost. For example Fortuner is able to pass their message that it can be serviced in 5-6k. Lot of us think of running cost before buying car and VW has bad reputation in this as this is people's car(Volks Wagen) not a luxury car right so they should charge like normal car not luxury. Even have maintenance package people paid 10-12k. Based on lot of folks I spoke VW already lost faith of people by degrading the quality of these new cars when compared to Polo and Vento. lol no one thinks their new cars are over engineered. They will die if they collaborate with other brand as then they will loose their remaining customer. They never focused on mass market and what lot of customers asked them "Polo" again they are going in wrong direction.
the kushaq and similar had the exact road presence of a baleno being an suv, dishing out 20 lakhs to although get a car no match with baleno but looks like one is crazy
Well said, being a big fan of vw skoda cars I was planning and even streching my budget for the base models of virtus and slavia but didn't like the showroom response when enquiring about the base. Also they were not interested to even show a base model of these cars. At last I went for i20 n line manual, very happy with performance and handling.
Sir One thing vw and skoda are in india since 2010 and below They are having service centre & body shops only in big cities. Service are less than ford. They are not focusing on Indian neads according. Brands like Hyundai and kia does. They don't have diesel engines.kia came to in 2019 they are having more service centre than vw. Now they focusing it then wt they have in past 10 years where they less compitition. Only 2 models cars. And i am very fan vw because of only polo looks and engineering. But parents not allowed me at that time. Only because of service centre.
What will be after sales support program? The car life is considered atleast for 15 years in the registration. I bought Kushaq just a year back considering it safest car.
My opinion is ki jo bhi micro cities hai waha inhe jointly service center open karne chahiye ise hoga ye ki logo me brand pe confidence develop Hoga or log inki gadiya purchase karange.
Sir, I respect your feelings. I am an old customer of Skoda driving Laura petrol. I have to buy a new car as Laura is reaching the end of their life (15 years). After reading VW's global executive's comment, I decided not to spend money on Tiguan. Instead, I will think of something else at that price point. For VW, it's just one car sale; for me, it's an emotion and spending hard-earned money. If you were to buy a new car, would you spend your hard-earned money on a VW Skoda car?
I am selling my kushaq 1.0. The over engineered marvel has AC and laggy drive with AC issues which makes squeaky noise. This started after 8-9k kms and SC does not have any clue. They say its a normal behaviour, how can it be normal if the drive was not so laggy when the car was new. Safety, performance ka kya karoon main jab gaadi mein itne issues hain.

VW lack in advertisement because in rural areas people don't know about VW...they should bring back polo with old platform, people were slowly inclining to polo same time they they discontinued... nobody knows about platform bring old one and continue my best wishes...I am a polo user using bs six polo happy one❤
Hello brother due to your recommendations i decided to buy kushaq. One month back i booked it. Despite of repeated requests they failed to give fresh quote on newly launched models. Yesterday i have cancelled my booking kushaq signature due to non availability of vehicle. Just waste of time.
India is a significant market for for premium cars from growth pov. Vwag have to put your up in India for next few years, if they want to grow their overall business, because now Indian middle class is having increasing dispensable income.
It will be like JSW MG tie up. VW brand will remain in India but the sales and service would be handled by the local Indian partner. However the drawbacks you have described with these two brands are spot on. VW/Skoda are known to offer undersized and underequipped products in a size and feature obsessed market like India.
VW is acting smart by not investing more in India, unlike Ford who couldn't gauge the demand for their cars after the sudden success of the Ecosport... VW will still run strong, albeit they won't expand as fast as other car brands will..
Paaji Ford Ecosport facelift was also about to launch, and they shutdown their operations during that timeframe and on top Ecosport was their largest exported vehicle compared to other brands. So you never know
My perspective if being straight forward; 1. It was a missed opportunity by both brands, why due to shortcoming of (Sizeable looking SUV, Choice of non polished Plastic, reduction of basis german features, reduction on aesthetic grounds like boot carpeting etc, finish issues) all of these led to disappointment amongst existing owners from Polo, Rapid, Vento, Octi etc. 2. They had over priced the Mid to top models else putting so much discounts would had been necessary 3. Poor tactics of launching Onyx and Monte Carlo there was nothing special about these versions because of point 1 Going Forward 1. I still don't personally think going forward with sub 4 meter category launches is a good idea that is not their audience instead they should have thought of introducing Karoq/Troc segment cars and alternatively Polo/fabia segment cars because if i20 N is selling at a premium they why not them but obv as euro spec quality if not euro spec features. What should have been done: 1. Kushaq and Taigun should had presented there entry level small sized value luxury product obviously rectifying issues as per point 1 and should had been priced below slavia and Virtus 2. They should had retained the USPs of their 1.0 era along with something new what they would had planned for India. 3. European style of marketing doesn't work for India so they had rethink on presenting their cars more; instead presenting the brand because exiting car ads talk more about brand not product as now Jeep also realises by associating themselves with HRK 4. Being a value luxury brand they should had focused on some key 2.0 characters like ( Class leading delivery style, class leading headlight throws, class leading music system) 5. They could have tweaked the suspensions as per India drive rather than re-enginering the ride height particularly for sedans because Rapid's clearance is just adequate and doesn't disintegrates the stance) 6. I personally think brands have a lot of power to establish new market norms and they could have negotiated the government for relaxing on the duties and taxes because when I build my rapid approx 5-6 lakh rupees was going to govt because now suddenly Gadkari ji realises that Hybrid is they way over EVs so without a doubt out auto policy doesn't favour global manufacturers which inturn leads to situation like VW/SKoda 2.0 and look at what Citroen is making ...
As Volkswagen guy i always go with vw My dad bought vw vento tsi 1.6cc in 2012 then we bought ameo tdi in 2016 Now I hv vw taugun topline , buying vw is worth because of its safty , technology and turbocharger engine Really disappointed having seeing new. Bro they aren't obviously leaving India, they just started VWë, Volkswagen Experiences, and they are getting closer to customers, and try to understand their needs. Yep i agree, that they discontinued the legend Polo, that was the only mistake by VW, if Polo was there now, this wouldn't be the situation today!. 1 suggestion to VW/SKODA - Bring the Polo/Fabia, they were a gem of a car in India, beasts dude, under 10L, German, powerful, and very safe cars! Just bring them to India again, make a new platform/ reduce the size of the polo which is already selling in other markets by 40mm. Just that, Polo & Fabia will be good to go with Indian- Norms. No hate to @Volkswagen.India, only love ❤ mainly the Polo ❤❤ Edit- their older cars like Jetta & Passat are such a phenomenal car, today the updated version of those priced at ₹25L & 30L respectively. Just above Virtus & Taigun, place the Jetta, and price the Passat just near the Tiguan. The market will be urs VW❤

Rumours even though they are rumours aren’t good for the brand’s reputation. When that rumour gets associated with slightly negative words of some top level management like klaus the reputation automatically goes downhill, no matter what. VAG needs to understand demands of customers, the feel good factor after spending 15+ 20+ lakh rupees, pano roof, adas, 360 cameras & better fit finish. A layman doesn’t know the marginal profit left for the brand even after spending 15-20 lakh rupees due to our insane tax structure, rather he sees that he has spent a hefty amount & deserves a bit more or at par with the competition which we can clearly say lacks in VAG. Virtus slavia even though the size of verna lack in certain aspects, anyway overall demand of sedans is slow. The UV segment which is lava hot VAG has cold competitors like kushaq & taigun which fall short of many aspects compared to that of other brands. Hope vw does its homework well enough for the upcoming sub 4m, else that may be the last nail in their ⚰️ here in 🇮🇳
Irrespective of 1L engin, car size, mileage, as a first buyer I heard about manufacturing issues such as AC flow, rattling noise, service, EPC error, clutch issue, no enough service from them. The taigun is priced at around 12 lakh starting at that range one can get a bolero & thar & grand vitara that are much bigger & more rugged proper suvs.
that's the thing, i get it's a practical car but at 17-20 lakhs i need more than "practical", indian buyer mindset is more emotional, although there's no needs but family aspirations hoti hai features like panoramic sunroof, individual aspirations to get a bigger car while kushaq has the road presence of baleno, it doesn't offer any standout strength, cause you het plenty "safe and powerful cars" from the likes of mahindra and tata at this price, you have to properly market research, my hopes are high for the sub 4m skoda suv, and we'll be happy w it's small size if it comes under a certain budget
As a polo owner, if they really understand the indian mindset, it comes to the spare parts price, its expensive compared to competition, i paid 20k for two lambda sensors. Which becomes hard to recommend to others. However 4 people i know boight the taigun inspite of me not recommending. Now there's no polo, but there is demand in the used market. I have taken good care so far of my car, some even ask for it. But if I want to upgrade theres no bigger option available in the near future. They have to bring polo back. 7 seater option has to be there along with the points mentioned. The over engineering part i dont know where its over engineered, maybe the chassis. But the engine and transmission options, reliability is not upto competition. Their reputation is as good as in the USA, where people prefer japanese, american, german cars such as BMW, golf etc.
Bhaiyaa....what should i buy... Kodiaq or Tiguan(with new refreshed interiors)??? I love both...so m confused..ki.. Should i buy Tigaun or Put some money nd buy Kodiaq

Skoda’s CEO also said that ‘over-engineering’ was a misstep for the Indian car market in the past and its new lineup, specifically the compact SUV that’s coming by March 2025, is set to change that. “We have a lot of lessons learnt in the Indian market. Often we build (a) car according to our own expectations. They tend to be over-engineered. And that comes at a price tag. And of course that's something that weakens your competitive position,” he said. He added that the company needs to learn and be aware of the sweet spot. "That's what we're after. We want to build the cars that customers in India are willing to pay for. And this is a lesson we continuously need to learn. Our price position versus competition is very ambitious. The idea is to provide a car that's even better than what's typically being catered to, in that segment," he said. So, definitely low material from now in vw/skoda . Collected from autocar .
VAG should tie up with Ashok Leyland and the sales & distribution of its cars will improve. It will also mark the foray of Bus giant into the passengers vehicles.
I have a polo for break repair i went to vw work shop they were charging more than 50000 for repairing and than after i went to local mechanic he used disposal master cylinder and disposable booster and repaired my car by charging rs 8500 in vw authorised work shop they ask very big amount for any repair
I have once told the salesperson of vw and skoda that company should bring a car in each price range so whoever customer comes, he must see the car in his budget. The biggest mistake they have done is not brining polo facelift. A hatchback has been always a hot seller vehicle in every brand. They could sell almost 5000 to 6000 polos every month and same goes with fabia. These hatchbacks are mostly used by first time buyer. Also, if they bring any other car with named as Polo then it will not get that much sale. We didnt buy those cars because it is named as polo, we bought it because its a hatchback which is affordable and top notch in driving dynamics. Please ask VW to bring Polo and Fabia and they will see the changes in sales.
I am agree with I am using the skoda slavia and while some issue in car I went to skoda service and the service they provide is pathetic. Now I am regretting that why I chose this car so according to you that rumors are true and second you are getting the money from brand that why you are defending then

Awesome Analysis as usual Paaji 💯🤘🏻 Volkswagen is not leaving they are just selling their stake and looking for a local partner as rightly pointed out. Sometime back MG motors was selling stake which JSW purchased. Now in case of Volkswagen Mahindra is first runner up. Mahindra is already tied up with Volkswagen as Mahindra's electric cars which are coming soon on Inglo platform they are getting the batteries and cells from Volkswagen. And this offer is also avaliable to them. Mahindra buys stake that would be interesting or lets say some other local manufacturer. Yes thats a fact under 10 lac category their portfolio is empty. SKODA is bringing in sub 4 metre where as VW most probably will not make a twin. If not atleast they can bring back Polo or lets say a compact SUV with Polo nameplate. Regards to features Hopefully the face-lifts launch soon. As international markets have already got it. And they look good interior / Exterior as well. 💯🤘🏻
Opening showroom -- investment is of dealer -- infact vw gets franchise fee -- so there is no harm for company when they earn money and sales from new showroom openings
If vw wants to survive in india they need to bring two 7 seater spacious suvs. One at a cheaper rate with basic must have features & rugged interiors to compete with thar scorpio n & bolero priced at 13 lakhs staring till about 20 lakh for top which must have a 4×4 variant also. Other a more luxurious 7 seater to compete with the likes of safari innova fortuner uxv 700 hector etc. Starting from 16 to 18 lakhs base to 25 30 lakhs top with option for 4×4.
Don’t buy Škoda or Volkswagen as of now they did poor design in interior rattle sounds everywhere even after three years of launch. Reverse camera is bad and 1.0 tsi are underpowered. I made a mistake by purchasing Kushaq given the second chance to buy a car I will never buy this brands. U will feel the experience once u buy so please don’t make a mistake rather do careful analysis.
If they are saying that their cars are not selling as per their capacity, being a VW owner, I would say it’s totally their fault. The cars are not over engineered, period. Their main fault is in their planning. Sales/ After sales and Marketing of cars/spares - all are at fault. Dealer network is limited. Service personnel are half trained!! They cannot take care of any complication. Over Engineering is a wrong term to use. How come Maruti/ Toyota/ Hyundai/ Mahindra and Tata’s are selling as per their projected capacity and VW/ Skoda are not? They need to take some lessons from these established manufacturers and from US- customers. They need to establish a SOP for dealing with customers which they don’t have or mere preliminary!!! I am using a Taigun and a Polo. I have used Vento as well. I know what I am talking about.
Ford left after talks of jv with Mahindra .
Though I don't think vw will leave.
This also seems wrong news spreading. VW won't last long in India.
They're selling their stake, it's the opposite of expanding their business 😂
I am a Taigun 1.0MT owner. I am very much satisfied with my purchase. HOWEVER:
My opinion is layman can't be impressed with present Taigun reasons are : relatively small size it looks like it belongs to sub 4m car like brezza nexon. terrible fuel economy in city, single digit fuel economy can't impress indian buyers, and Recommending 95 octane fuel which is 5-6 rs costly than normal fuel also affects the cost of ownership .
Expecting comment from Sunderdeep
PS: i dont think they will exit india but in case VW exits i ll buy Virtus with huge price cut 😂

VW Skoda,20 saal mei Indian market ko nahi samajh payi .Ford bhi last moment tak showrooms open kar rahi thi and same trying to collab with mahindra. Last moment tak kisiko pata nahi chala in case of ford. Same scenario lag raha hai inka bhi. Indian masses ko quality, safety n performance nahi chahiye unko sirf average n features chahiye. 1.360 degree reverse parking camera.
2.Front parking sensors.
3.alll windows one touch control.
4. Car lock unlock beep sound (it really helps as notification)
Sunderdeep has already raised these many time but vw management is blind n deaf...sry to say

Also In 700 engineering, they have used ford for each and everything as making a car like 700 from ground level wouldn't have possible for a desi local brand.
They will eat all technology,R&D of vw and use it in their cars & will break the JV.
True I completely agree
Yea just like the Chinese Companies did it to Tesla
The main reason behind Mahindra and Ford breakup in 2021 was that Ford wanted to launch its own version of XUV700 in India however Mahindra was not willing to supply more than 10000 units of XUV700 to Ford per annum since both the products were planned to be made at Mahindra's plant in Chakan. Mahindra is not a reliable partner when it comes to JVs with foreign partners.

When I ask or suggest skoda vw cars to any of my friends, they are still worried about the parts and service cost, inspite of all the packages available, the perception of being an expensive cars to maintain isn't gone.
Ford said the same thing before sudden action of leaving India. No confidence on the brand right now😅
Combined sales of both Skoda and VW is less than many brands in India so chances are very high.
There is a difference. They did a colossal mistake by putting up a second big factory in Gujarat. VAG didn’t commit this mistake, remember.
@@SunderdeepSinghit is a classical case of left hand not talking to it's right hand and this is typical of European brands there is very little autonomy in these decisions given to the Indian management.
They have opend a new Showroom at Jammu and Udhampur this month.
Škoda Kushaq is my best looking commercial car that too at 20-25 lac range
More than 90 pct of the people are not enthusiasts, they want a car which wont be heavy on their pocket for maintenance and are family oriented. Which skoda vw havent managed to instill confidence in the people. Also, even after 20 years they dont that much amount of service centers spread across india.
If you are targeting only enthusiasts and not families, then you cant sell because those people are minuscule
1.VW and Skoda operating in india since more than a decade, if we go by numbers their sale has never dropped drastically year on year, infact after launch of 2.0 project their sales numbers are increasing.
2.their products target specific consumer and thei launch it at specific price point, they never had sales figures like maruti and Hyundai, they are managing with same sales count with controlled inventory planning since a decade
3.their sames numbers look less as they dont have product which comes at less that 10-12 lakhs (average price) where maruti and Hyundai is getting maximum sales
4. segment whwre VW/Skoda is launching their vehicles is at par with competitors or in some segments they are doing better, for example, exclude the same of commercial cars (swift, dezire, ertiga, aura, xcent etc) compare matuti/hyundai cars of same price point: Slavia Virtus doing better than Ciaz, verna, City...superb,octavia had no direct competator etc
These news are spread by youtubers after CEO s interview where he said "we are over engineered" and after hearing a newd about JV with Mahindra, this JV or Stake selling is part of their upcoming business strategy for EVs and engines as a additional line of business (maruti uses engines which are manufactured by fiat, many of their engine parts are supplied by Ford)
VW has balancing their manufacturing/inventory in a proper was and selling thei cars in balanced approach, they are exploring options where they can go asset light and focus in their core operations

Here are VW/Skoda problems in India,
1. Service
- Incompetent Service Engineers - The people servicing these cars have no clue what they are doing.
2. Perceived Value
- The brand looks like it's trying for customers in the Upper Middle Class only. These families have already gone through an ownership of a Maruti or a Hyundai, A family moving up the ranks would not tolerate the problems of service and availability of parts, as they already know what a good service feels like with Maruti and Hyundai.
3. The Cars (Point in case Taigun/Kushaq)
- The final nail in the coffin are the cars itself, imho the cars lack "SPACE".
4. DQ200
- I don't remember any other mechanical part from a car manufacturer feared by their customers than the DQ200 gearbox. VW should just drop it from mass market 2.0 cars. imho their Torque Converter gearbox was superb in the 1.0L GT Polo. they should stick with that for 2.0 mass market cars. the DQ200 has caused more damage to VW India than good.
Which suv would you recommend below 40 lakhs for for a family of 5 - mostly city driving ?

Safety, performance ka kya karoon main jab gaadi mein itne issues hain.
ek toh maal nahi bik raha upar se bol rahe hai dukaan kabi bhi bannd ho sakti hai. Great jisne book karai hogi wo hi cancel ki sooch raha hoga. Maine khud kusaq lene wala hu at last great news thanks bro for clarifying.
Sunderdeep ji jaise he Virtus ka upgrade aaega, Virtus GT lunga m, 2018 se m VENTO 1.5 DSG Automatic chla rha hu, in caro ka koi Comparision nhi h, I really love VOLKSWAGEN😊
In 1 way it is a good news for existing owners. Virtus and Taigun will become a prestigious car just like today's octavia.
I think Mahindra would be a perfect partner for VW/Skoda because both have their engine DNA in the same way which is top notch performance 👌🏻👌🏻
GUPTA JI should watch this video from 11:24
SUB 4M Customers you cannot ignore at all.
So you never know
My perspective if being straight forward;
2. They had over priced the Mid to top models else putting so much discounts would had been necessary
3. Poor tactics of launching Onyx and Monte Carlo there was nothing special about these versions because of point 1
Going Forward
What should have been done:
1. Kushaq and Taigun should had presented there entry level small sized value luxury product obviously rectifying issues as per point 1 and should had been priced below slavia and Virtus
2. They should had retained the USPs of their 1.0 era along with something new what they would had planned for India.
3. European style of marketing doesn't work for India so they had rethink on presenting their cars more; instead presenting the brand because exiting car ads talk more about brand not product as now Jeep also realises by associating themselves with HRK
4. Being a value luxury brand they should had focused on some key 2.0 characters like ( Class leading delivery style, class leading headlight throws, class leading music system)
5. They could have tweaked the suspensions as per India drive rather than re-enginering the ride height particularly for sedans because Rapid's clearance is just adequate and doesn't disintegrates the stance)
As Volkswagen guy i always go with vw
My dad bought vw vento tsi 1.6cc in 2012 then we bought ameo tdi in 2016
Now I hv vw taugun topline , buying vw is worth because of its safty , technology and turbocharger engine
Really disappointed having seeing new.
I am worried about Volkswagen should not leave India
Driving a Volkswagen is like you driving 🚀
Idk why people spreading fake rumours on vw is leaving India because of this many people are losing their trust
1 suggestion to VW/SKODA -
Bring the Polo/Fabia, they were a gem of a car in India, beasts dude, under 10L, German, powerful, and very safe cars!
Just bring them to India again, make a new platform/ reduce the size of the polo which is already selling in other markets by 40mm. Just that, Polo & Fabia will be good to go with Indian- Norms.
No hate to @Volkswagen.India, only love ❤ mainly the Polo ❤❤
Edit- their older cars like Jetta & Passat are such a phenomenal car, today the updated version of those priced at ₹25L & 30L respectively. Just above Virtus & Taigun, place the Jetta, and price the Passat just near the Tiguan. The market will be urs VW❤
Sir there is news around for kushaq slavia facelift with features like adas, 360 camera etc. Any expected time when we can see this facelift?
aue waise abhi aap kisi ke poocho ki kaun si car le to sabke zubaan pe ek hi naam hai maruti ye phir hyundai ye jo stereotype hai isko break karna bahut muskil hai, plus VW ki car ka size thoda chota competiton ke hisaab se, thodi si bulky honi chahiye par ye loog global design rakhte hai
First of all they need to provide parts to local mechanics. Many local mechanics are better than VW service center staff.
As always you do come out with solution I too feel it will continue, it's really difficult to ignore large size mkt like India.
Volkswagen cannot leave India as we have huge fan base in Kerala 💓
I eagerly anticipated your video regarding this statement. Thank you for clarifying it.
Additionally, false news tends to spread rapidly.
How still go with Skoda or VM? And, in this busy lifestyle you can not waste your time with SC; especially if you are buying cars at over price.
Once you drive German car you will not like any other car.
I have VW Ameo and I absolutely love it, no problem at all.
@@AK-sk6jjAfter I drove and own polo tsi, i am shifting to Jimny.
@@ravibasera1 I don't think one would have two separate cars for city drive and highway drive. The safety, stability and the driving dynamics that vw offer is of utmost important cos most of the fatel accidents occur on high speeds on highways.
@@ravibasera1 For example, Vw cars have speed sensing steering which is extremely important on high speeds.
People dont look at these features instead look at cosmetic features.
@@Scrambler695 Toh pehle bhi kaha buy karte thhe Indian customers?
Indians even the affluent once buy WagonR over polo.
We are over obsesed with maruti😅
As per showroom dealers there is so much customer enquiries towards polo see how swift is selling like hot cakes there are so many customers buying swift as a secondary car despite of already there have suv due it is to drive in city n no difficulty in parking , vw means polo after discontinued it has demand just vw want to announce a polo coming booking commence u see customer bookings and also if u visit vw nd Skoda dealership sales guys only talk abt nd provide test ride of 1 litre nd there don’t open mouth regarding 1.5 they have attitude wt Suzuki selling 100 cars is equal to our 1 no car, previously knowledge customer are so much less there don’t know abt handling, bhp, building quality money problems nothing , At present every customer is knowledgeable there know wt there want nd ready to pay in this scenario vw n Skoda can make strong roots in India
Honda-VW-Skoda-Renault-nissan
All are on path leaving india.
and THAT'S VERY SAD for our country.
It will be like JSW MG tie up in India where VW brand would remain in India but sales and service maybe handled by the local Indian buyer.
5000-7000 monthly is a good number.
Before 2020 it was 3000 monthly.
90 % localisation means profit only.
Skoda only and only apne features me upgrade leke aaye to definatly ye creta ko jordar takkar degi bz when i take a test drive of new creta so i was shoked bz no any new filling i have from my dzire power and when i drive kushaq so power was dhasu and also creta suspension same like maruti and no any seat comfort and when i ride first time in polo so suspension of polo was awosom so only required fitures in both skoda and VW
It may continue but partnership with mahindra will not be a good decision bcoz Mahindra will take advantage and improve engineering of their products but surely vw will lost their quality and uniqueness which is sad. Also previous collaboration's which mahindra did with other brands has also not benefitted brands in any way like we have seen with Ford.
Now practical engine is N.A. Petrol with hybrid / CNG
Buy a toyota or any Japanese brand.
Sunder deep sir, is Volkswagen
planing sell it's share to Mahindra or collaboration with Mahindra.
Is it going out of India 🇮🇳.
Please sir make it clear.
I am planning to purchase Volkswagen virtus 1.0 topline MT is it worth to buy.
Please guide me ,I will be very thankful to you.
I am spoting skoda & vw
They should just start providing 1.5 tsi from the base model. It will gonna increase sale definitely
Totally disagree with your opinion.Ultimately they are leaving and not working on updates of vehicles.
agree.
They will never leave at all,I believe.
I am agree with I am using the skoda slavia and while some issue in car I went to skoda service and the service they provide is pathetic. Now I am regretting that why I chose this car so according to you that rumors are true and second you are getting the money from brand that why you are defending then
They never update their car like Hundai or Maruti.. it doesn’t mean they will leave India because they are in profit
Top management always traps us with these words "not to worry about it".
People who ve not owned a vw and sister concerned car never know how well they are tuned, handling, stability, fancy feature are short term.....waiting for upgraded VW VIRTUS for next car..
They should have some model in 1200 cc range,
They shouldn't discontinue their winners like POLO Same for Renault Duster . Hope VAG will remain in india
Sunderdeepji
I would like to own skoda slavia. When does the slavia facelift happened to be. Shall we expect exterior changes.
