    The perfumer gentleman exudes more natural class and sophistication from his heritage, than the other two. Just an off point opinion. I wonder if anyone else recognizes the same.

    Floris London has been making the best and most elegant fragrances for centuries. The fact that you can also create your own fragrances is added to this. Especially since the boss is also very sympathetic 😀

    The oldest family run perfume company is the Farina 1709 in Cologne, Germany. They had a tough life and fought legaly with many infringers of the patent and other copies of the original recipe. The company still lives today and it's at the 9'th generation. Floris, because of the great publicity and being in London, had a greater reach bc of the empire but Farina had some legendary customers as well, including, among others, Napoleon I.

    This was such an enjoyable video. Would it be possible to have a representative of Floris show the proper application of one’s scent? All too often it seems many men “over apply” their cologne.

    • @UndisclosedHost

      The unofficial standard would be one spray each side of your neck below your ears, and one spray on the back of your neck. Obviously it depends what fragrance you're using but that's generally a good starting point. Avoid spraying the front of your neck/below your chin.

    • @greglinsmythe3375
      @greglinsmythe3375 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UndisclosedHostSo instead of the front of your neck where you have pulse points, you suggest spraying on the back of your neck where the collar covers the skin? Absurd

    Kirby, I am a perfume aficionado with a collection of over 1100 fragrance bottles so this video in particular was interesting to me.
    Question, there are a lot of niche perfume houses in Europe and in the USA, I think even France and Italy are two of the most recognized areas for high end perfume.
    What in particular made Floris catch your attention? Is it the fact that they are English and your other interests like cigars and suits are also in England? Or were there other factors?
    I own around 6 fragrances from this house

    • @SimonTBam

      I think Kirby is a 'frustrated' English gentleman. Certainly an Anglophile.
      I think many people are attracted to England on the basis that traditional crafts have remained virtually unchanged whereas in most other places these have been replaced by industrial processes. Not everywhere obviously. But here we are lucky to be seeing representation from a family business that stretches back farther than the United States itself.

    • @DapperProf
      @DapperProf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Pretty sure it's because, based on the past videos, there is a anglophile and historical element, plus it's certainly easier to manage with travel and language with the other relationships that have developed over the years.

      That’s the one thing I noticed in most of his videos. It’s fine when the other side is a bit of an extrovert but usually it’s awkward to see. Also he does this thing where he pretends or assumes something about the business and goes on a long monologue - which then gets politely steered the correct direction by the actual expert. He’s built up “relationships” with these experts so they’re polite about it. Also, anyone that dresses to the nines like this guy in London but not actually “in something” is considered kind of a joke by us here. I live in London; other end of Hyde Park from Mayfair.

      @@jyc313 He's the founder and owner of a (niche) fashion brand, so, I guess he can get away with it, as he represents a particular style he sells. Also, he's told stories of visiting elite private clubs in London, so, I guess he must know someone who can invite him to such places. Overall though, his attitude and style are rather pretentious.

    Remember, fragrances are estrogenic. That cologne, along with your BPA plastic water bottle and soy latte, is lowering your T levels to that of an octogenarian.
    In “From Russia, With Love” Tatiana Romanova notices that western men (of Bond’s era at least) do not wear cologne, asks him why that is. “We wash,” replies Bond. Personally, I’ll go the James Bond route.
