- Use this video to show you 2 methods to Factory Reset your HP laptop. The first method assumes your computer turns on and works well so you can reset from inside Windows. The second assumes your computer does not turn on correctly and you need to reset from the start-up options. Remember, after you reset or install Windows new, make sure you fully update as seen here: • How To Update Windows ... .
If the factory reset does not work for some reason, then move on and try to install Windows new.

Q: Will this erase all my data?
A: If you perform the hard reset, yes. You an choose the other option which will not delete all your data but there is still a chance of loosing data you want to save. Best to always back up data first.
Q: It saying 'insert your windows installation or recovery media to continue'
A: If you cannot Factory Reset, you will have to try a new install of Windows.

Q: I cant seem to access the startup recovery options by hitting F11
A: Hitting F11 for the Startup Recovery Options is usually only a step for older computers. Newer computers usually start up too fast to allow access to that. Can you not access Windows and reset from there? If not, what is happening when you try to start the computer? Once i get my laptop to the point where I am seeing reset this pc and advanced options then I click reset I get the keep my files and remove everything options so then I click remove everything and it just keeps telling me there's a problem resetting my pc... please please help me figure this out! & thank you for your time!!!!

For me, my brother passed down his laptop to me because he got locked out of it. The pin said it wasn't available anymore and the Microsoft account we used for it was no longer available so it was unable to be used since the pin no longer worked. I spent months and months trying to figure out how to fox it or just figure out how to get the account we used for the laptop. It never came back. The laptop could not be used no more because of it, eventually i found your tutorial and followed the steps and holy damn i thank you so much. I was very worried it wasn't going to work because of not i would of had to send it to someone and pay a ton of money to get it fixed and financially i am unable to do that since i dont earn money at all. You saved me from having to pay so much money just for it to get fully reset. Thank you, man

Hello brother Please solve my problem I half reset my HP laptop then I shut down my PC when it was 62℅ by removing battery. Now It was Stuck on HP logo with black screen.

What do I do to clear space I’ve tried removing files deleting apps and I just don’t know what to do because it only causes a little bit of space but it still says I need around 2 GB to do so

@@theo4tisg no not really BUT I did an update that I knew I didn’t have space for then it said not enough storage and gave me the option to transfer to a drive so I did and it cleared 3g

Bro when I reset the pc option with remove everything it stops when it’s half way and puts me back to recovery and I’ve tried absolutely everything my pc won’t start up

I try to clean it completely but then it says Additional free space is needed on the drive where windows is installed. Free up some space and try again

I went to the settings and tryped "factory reset this pc" and put "dont keep files" or something along those lines, and it reset back to another point on my pc and not back to the beginning

When I try to reset, it says "there was a problem resetting your pc" and I've tried all the reset options. Hard reset and soft but the same thing keeps coming up

So I got to the point where I reset my computer but it hits like 10 % and just goes back to the blue screen to reset it or continue
