Jiujitsu becomes so beautiful when both athletes are willing to stand up.I love seeing the guard have a new meaning when in the context of takedown scrambles
There's NCAA division 1 wrestling and flowrestling if you just want to see stand up. The wrestling there is WAY better than this. These are great jiu jitsu guys putting on a low level wrestling match.
@@the1shrubbery But this is just low level wrestling. Neither Taza nor Mica would get onto a D1 wrestling team. Id rather see them do what they are great at, rather than see a low level wrestling match. I could watch high level wrestling in NCAA.
@@CJ-hx9du Here I get to watch stand up with extra context, I could see flying submission, imanari rolls for legs, takedowns which transition into guard passing scrambles or end up in a triangle etc, you don't know what's coming next. If I watch wrestling I'm not gonna see any of that, so it's not really an option for me. The point of my comment was that jiujitsu with stand up is more beautiful than buttscooting jiujitsu in my opinion.
ye, how do you not see Mica winning this one? He took his back, mounted and had side control a couple of times. Taza pushed the pace in the standup but wasnt able to gain advanteous positions out of it
Uma das melhores lutas dele eu acho, porque ele já estava estafado muito cansado, mais conseguiu segurar até fim e deu bons golpes. Parabéns Mica, Glória a Deus.
they are not called wrestling attacks, its called takedowns. Just because someone can take someone else down doesnt make them a wrestler. All of these takedowns are terrible. NOT ONE SET UP WAS USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO
@@aplus1080 Isn't the term "All-American wrestler" applied only to someone who finishes in the top eight of their weight class at a national tournament in the USA?
Yeah, the US tend to just claim the entire continent group. Literally saying "all 'of' America", but only include themselves. About as legit as world champs that never face anyone outside their country.
Either make jujitsu submission only or create a scoring system that eliminates bias! This was a horrible decision. At no point do the athletes really know where they stand. And what's with this ref's opinion at every 5 minutes it seems like it's a secret. Where does the crowd and the athlete have access to this information? It seems like only the commentators know that the refs are favoring one athlete over the other.
No mica won because Oliver lost the first take down and was also never able to redeem himself in the long wrong, this isn't mma the judges are at the highest level of the sport so yea it can be hard to see such small details that makes someone the winner but imo they made the right decision
I totally disagree with the result. Galvao is such an amazing fighter, no doubt, but I believe that in this match was Taza that made almost all the attacks. Either way, what a great match to watch. I could only dream with such a great performance on my training
I'm not sure about the scoring system of WNO, but MIca got the more dominant positions: 1) got the back, hooks in and, near the end, 2) a full mount. On the feet, Taza I found to be more aggressive as he kept attempting takedowns throughout the match, but he only took Mica down once. So in terms of effective aggressiveness, Taza also fell short.
This video popped up on my recommended and I'm so confused on why no one has called out how this 17 year old looks juiced to the gills. Are steroids just allowed in BJJ?
