    Thank you for the video. Helpful informative and with a sense of humour. It was very funny to see you put the camera in the fridge. Can you just clarify: for video you really need the external recorder, and secondly your video work was only with RF not EF lenses? Ef lenses no longer suitable? Thank you.

    • @persvanstrom

      Recorder gives you 30min+ that is the biggest benefit. If you don’t need that I prefer internal recording. I only use EF, don’t even own a RF lens 😅

    Nice video. At 5:53 you mention the low light capabilities and that it goes up to 102,400. Surely that high would make the noise an unusable shot. How high are you going with the ISO and still getting good looking shots? 6400? At what ISO was that restaurant shot done?

    • @persvanstrom

      At events I often shoot at 8-12000 ISO

    • @AndresArosemena

      @@persvanstrom Oh wow, I think I never have gone more than 6400 being scared of getting too much noise. I remember on my 80D 3200 ISO had noise but usable, 6400 was too much. In the R6 6400 it's like 3200 on the 80D or even less noise. I need to do some tests with higher than 6400. Is it true that the camera has dual ISO when shooting in clog3?

    • @persvanstrom

      Dual ISO for CLOG3 is only R6m2 unfortunatly. Sorry for th add, but if you check my manual focus video you have shots with different ISO (photo) and I range all the way up to 102400 and it still looks OK. The R6 is a low light, high ISO beast.

    • @AndresArosemena

      @@persvanstrom oh that's bad news, I read in another youtube comment that the original R6 also had dual ISO on Clog3. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check out out manual focus video

    • @AndresArosemena

      @@persvanstrom I can't find a video in your page that's about manual focus. Do you mean the one called "iso shutter speed and aperture explained"? In that one I watched you take some pictures in several ISOs but jumping from 6400 (which looks great) into 102.400 (which looks horrible haha). I need to do some video tests with ISO higher than 6400. When I shoot in Clog3 I get A LOT of noise even in 800 ISO compared to shooting in standard/neutral, etc at the same or even higher ISO. So I haven't been trying to shoot past 6400 in standard profiles and much less in clog3, but I need to give it a try.

    Interesting and nicely presented video, Man. I have a question. I hope you will reply?. I set my canon up for video use. Set the dial on the left. I think it's called : Aperture to : 1/50. F- stop to : 5.6. ISO : 100-ish. Sometimes there isn't enough light. So I raise the ISO. But the 1/50, changes. It won't stay 1/50, as I had set it previously. Is this normal? Can I record with the higher 1/50 for video and it be stable?

  • @tomn6099

    Hello Per, I've had an R6 for over a year now but haven't used it for video that much. I recently volunteered to record a kids' event consisting of 5-7 min dances. Due to poor lighting I ended up using ISO between 1250 and 6400. Once I got home I found 5 annoying hot pixels in most of my clips. Reading online, this seems normal/expected and I get the feeling there is no reason to consider it broken... For photography it is fairly easy to deal with but how do you deal with hot pixels in video? Being a hobbyist, I usually stick to open-source software and have been using ShotCut recently. They have a spot remover filter but it is quite annoying to use. Perhaps there are better ways?

      @@persvanstrom yeah that's understood and appreciated. I am always looking for r6 footage that suits my eye more than a lot of the overly smoky footage r6 users seem to come up with. I did have at one point about 30 seconds of some wild ponies that was awesome but I cant find it anymore.... I recently bought a c70 and returned it as after just a few days.
