    Great Video, as a side note, this amazing feature is also available with Canon EOS RP, so I am guessing it is also available with any camera of Canon's that has both AF ON button on the back and eye detection. I set mine up the same way after watching this video. AF ON normal and * set to eye outfocus. I imagine this will be very helpful in the future as this was a conundrum of mine having to switch between the two during shooting

    Very dramatic video. Good choices of music to support that drama. When you were counting down the solutions on your fingers, I wanted to see graphics on the screen listing them. To summarize: use dummy battery, remove both memory cards, turn off screen, and fold out screen. Your last two solutions are problematic however. With the Ninja V attached, you can use the R6 screen to change F and ISO in response to external conditions. But I saw that you were presenting the screen on the Ninja, and using the wheel to change camera settings, which is not the F and ISO, so this is confusing (at lest to me). I have the R6ii and the Ninja V. Even at 4K-24P I'm lucky to get 9 minutes before the ninja shuts down.

    great video but what would be the difference in the false color values when shooting in clog3 compared to shooting in rec709? @@persvanstrom I have to do some tests. I normally don't shoot on clog3 but just in rec709 but when I have, I feel I under exposed it a bit and I need to bring it up and see more noise than if I raise a same exposed shot but in rec709. I have watched a lot of people recommend to over expose the shot by 1 or 2 stops when using clog3 so that the shadows are more exposed and then in post you bring them down to the level that would have been exposed in rec709 and that would get similar results.

      If you come close to Gothenburg, poke me and we can hook up for a street photography day together if you like? As to focus. What is ur ND recommend for canon r6

    • @persvanstrom
      @persvanstrom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've only tested a K&F, a Cochin before I decided to go big on a PolarPro Peter McKinnon edition. As I mostly film on C70's now with built in ND-filters I wanted a fixed as I prefer that for photography. Not sure if that helps? I love my PolarPro, but they are expensive. If I could only afford one, I would prob go with a VND, but personally I prefered using fixed.

    After switching from photo mode to video mode, there is blackness at the top and bottom of the screen, how can I turn it off?

      You can't, it's normal. Video is by default 16:9 format and your photo is 4:3 (1.33:1). Thats why your screen back on yoru camera is 4:3. So when switching to video, it will show you what you will actually capture.

    This is such a powerful video. I need to customize my top dial for ISO because my finger automatically goes there to add light and Im currently unintentionally impacting my shutter speed while shooting cityscapes and travel photography- ouch

    Hi there! I wonder what settings you have on Color Space Transform in Da Vinci Resolve when you use neutral and cinestyle color profile? The input color space and input gamma. Output color space and output gamma. Thanks

      Let me check

    • @persvanstrom
      @persvanstrom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Long time since I used M50, film only with C70 now adays, but my workflow is the same. I ALWAYS go from what I shoot with into DWG/Intermediate (as it's the widest space) and I output from DWG/Intermediate -> 709/709.A (as I'm on mac). Then I grade in-between as that is the least disruptive. Any look LUT happens after the output transform. As Cinestyle isn't a real logprofile but mostly just low contrast, it works with 709 as input and then you sort it with correction nodes before grading inside DWG

    Not a cheap tool but worth it. I've used mine to profile my lights. Without this tool you are guessing, at best, for the right filters. Surprising how many LED lights have NO Red #9.

    • @persvanstrom
      @persvanstrom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah, not cheap at all, but so valuable. Yeah, I agree. Running around measuring random lights and red are often lacking. Do you know why?

  • @ArtyomPersidskyTube
    @ArtyomPersidskyTube 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi! Thank you VERY much for your video! So, As I got you right, you also set zebra to 40% and wait when you see zebra cover all your face, right? What if I set zebra to 75 and wait while I have slightly zebra just a touch of it on my face? But anyway I still have a problem! the image is so noisy!!!! And what is strange is that I use Gamut and only out from log2 to 709 makes it less noisy. Can you explain to me why?

    • @persvanstrom
      @persvanstrom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right :) and yes, you can set it to what you need and want, like 75. 40 just represent 18% grey in CLOG3 (and 2). Noise shouldn't be connected to either CLOG3 or not, or even ISO. Noise is just when you don't have enough light hitting the sensor. It can look noisy if you don't convert it correctly from LOG to rec.709 or if you miss exposure due to looking at curves in LOG and not 709. I would recommend to test a little. Only real truth you can use is that 18% grey is ALWAYS 18% grey no matter you run LOG or 709, so expose for that. It's always on 40 IRE. Test with only lighting your card in both log and 709 and then compare. If you have no difference in noise in the two, I would conclude exposure problems when you work in LOG. Let me know how it goes?

      thank you very much for your reply! I appreciate it. Definitely wanna test it. Will do! You know what confused me the most? I shoot in LOG 3 Cinema Gamute. When I convert from LOG 3 CG to 709 - its sooo noisy! When I converted from Log 2 to 709 - super clean image. So weird. I'm a new guy here. Just learning. Hope you understand. Thanks for the help!
