    Hey dude 👌🏼 Have recently purchased a “Force” myself and came across your videos whilst researching! Your videos have been fantastic to showcase the powerhouse that is the Akai Force!! Would be amazing for you to demonstrate your process of these productions in the future ???! I would certainly be tuning in to watch and I’m sure many others would agree 👍👍👍 Keep up the good work man 👌🏼👌🏼

      Hi Nathan! Thank you for your encouraging words. I'm definitely planning on shooting a "techno liveset from scratch" - tutorial with the force. However, I've got a full time job and creating such a set usually takes a lot of hours. Recording and cutting the video the right way to not make it too long will also take up a lot of time. So the bottom line is: it will definitely happen, but it might take a while.

    Planning to re-build all my tracks on Force and do a Live Performance with it. I keep asking myself how this should be organized, I know that Drum Programs are the solution for me because I use only the stems/samples of my tracks. But still thinking of the best way to get this done. Thanks for sharing this with us. Cheers

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks,
      it's possible to create one hour sets on the Force, but you can only use 8 synth plugins, which limits the variety of sounds quite a bit. Two Forces or other grooveboxes, like a Digitakt or Syntakt, which allow you you to load a new project while the other devices are playing would probably be the ideal solution.

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching my videos. There will always be people who complain about the firmware. A huge firmware update is supposed to come out within the next months and will improve the capabilities of the Force again.
      I would buy an upcoming MK 2 version rather because of better hardware specs (more ram & better processor) so that you can open more software synths simultaneously.

      Hey Louis, to be honest, I got inspired by people who performed techno livesets using elektron gear like the digitakt. Since it's hard to find good akai force techno jams, I decided to show the capability of this awesome machine which is - in my opinion - still underrated despite all its capabilities.
      FYI: Akai doesn't pay me anything and I bought the force this year spending my own money.
      PS: You can't see any dust because the quality of my camera is not decent enough to show this kind of detail lol

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanx! As far as I know it is not possible. You would have to change the bpm manually during the set for that specific scene you want to play in a different tempo by quickly dialing in the new bpm. However I think it's doable... especially in breaks.

    I really appreciate your videos and would like to hear your opinion on a techno / trance uplifting package. I intended to buy an Analog Rythm MK2 and an Analog Four MK2, as well as a Roland MC 707 and TR 8S and for the bass line a mb33 mam, a Korg Xd rack, Electribe 2, Toraiz as- 1 this way I will have a varied range of sounds. What do you think? No Elektron and Roland duo? Definitely too much material I guess, I would like to have an efficient set with the right things without duplicate material. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for your response and advice

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phoenix 13, If I were you, I would focus on one device and master it first instead of buying so much gear. In terms of sound spectrum I would go with the mc 707 for classic synths and drum sounds and the force as well as elektron gear like the digitone or the digitakt for more contemporary sounds. With these devices you'll probably cover all the sounds you need to produce electronic dance music. However, since the force and the digitakt are also amazing samplers, you can load and/or record every sound in the world on these devices. That's why I would start to build a setup around these.

    • @PHOENIX-fb1cf
      @PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for your review. So start with the Force / Digitakt and or Digitone if I understand correctly, then supplement with the MC 707? The Force and Digitakt not duplicate as both sampler? Concerning the Force, it is not limited in number of tracks for samples. For example, if I want to make a composition with about thirty different samples (Kicks, snares, etc ....) and bass samples, synths, about thirty for example, will I be limited? Because so well understood eight audio tracks (So I suppose 8 samples) one per track and eight instrument tracks.

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PHOENIX-fb1cf You can load hundreds of samples (if they are not too long) into drum tracks and key groups. Audio tracks and plugin tracks are limited to eight each, but that's not the case with drum tracks and key groups. I think you can have 128 of them. However the force's ram will limit you.

    • @PHOENIX-fb1cf
      @PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you again for these very useful details, I had not understood this way. An excellent thing then. There is still plenty to do.

      I hope you'll get that problem sorted out. I've updated my force via the blue usb cable it came with. It worked for me without any problems. You pressed the right button combo and put the force into update mode beforehand, right?

  • @PHOENIX-fb1cf
    @PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was listening to the Force and it sounds like a good, efficient machine. Maybe a centerpiece? If so, what should be added for a techno / trance uplifting set without a computer? Thank you for your feedback and review

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, although the built-in effects of the force are good, some additional effect paddle(s) (e.g. eventide), the minilogue xd and/or the model D might make a good setup. Or you could have a second Force and a dj mixer and transition between the projects on both devices. The possibilities are basically endless. It's rather a question of money, invested time and skills... Due to its midi capabilities the force definitely makes a good center piece.

    • @PHOENIX-fb1cf
      @PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your feedback. So a Force with additional effects, Korg XD rack plus Model D would be a good setup if I understand correctly? However, the option is not really my thing. No need for a Roland-style Groovebox then? Will the set be sufficient on its own?

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PHOENIX-fb1cf Start only with a force, an mc 707 or a digitakt and master your chosen center piece first. After that you can still add more.

    • @PHOENIX-fb1cf
      @PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for your feedback and advice. I think I let myself be tempted by the Force which seems to be really formidable. Although I also like the MC 707 very much. On the other hand, will I not be too limited with the Force?

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PHOENIX-fb1cf No, you won't. It's the most versatile music production station in the world. In comparison to computer software like ableton, all hardware gear will appear limited. However, the force comes closest to an all in one solution.

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can only open one project at a time. If you want to mix several projects, you need a second force to load a new project while the other one is playing. By the way, not even ableton allows you to open several projects at the same time. In that case you would need a second computer.

    So worried about akai is not updating mpc live with the new arranger mode, just FORCING us to buy FORCE....

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just relax! It might take a while but I'm sure they will implement the arranger in other akai gear too. They're slowly putting the best elements from the force, live, one and x together and also come up with new stuff in their os. The bigger the update, the longer the wait. That's how it is.
      Since it's a rather small update, I'm pretty sure the drum synth update 3.0.6 for the force will be released this year too with some new little features that no one expected.
