Extremely well done. I often have trouble with tutorials like this but you started from the beginning and went through logically. Thanks. I feel like I was starting to get the muscle memory and I don't even have a Force yet! LOL
Incredible Tutorials Matthew. Unlike some others, you show the why, where and how of each movement on video and through explanation. This is extremely hard to do so great editing and teaching. Thanks again.
I really hope Akai has sent you a check! These tutorials on the Force are the only reason I haven't returned that thing. Have an MPC X but wanted something for preproduction - easy to jump on and work on ideas. The learning curve is steep...
this was the best video to watch if it's your first time with the Force in hand. Really helped me start finding my way around. Thank you, all of your videos really helped! Literally all of them on the Force. I finallyI feel ready to cut loose on this thing!
Great video however you missed a few important areas. Hold "edit" down while selecting a track to change instrument and "edit" knobs 1-8 to change knob configurations etc. Also holding Shift while in selecting "Load" will also delete files. THE Most overlooked feature is the "Warning: Low on temporary space". This is for SPLICE only. To get rid of this message you must delete unwanted Splice directories that Splice creates on your internal memory when you sync your Akai Force. Splice puts many sub folders and copies of a sample into folders, and this takes up memory! Simply delete them using the SHIFT/LOAD - then delete file! Other than that, what a great video!
Very comprehensive, and good tutorials Sir! Apologies if I have missed this... after integrating with my Ableton project via WiFi sync can I use the FORCE as a midi keyboard to play my Ableton drum rack or play an Ableton piano plugin? TIA!
Thank you so much for this Video, I purchased this unit because I saw your videos. Great Job! Quick question do you have a video showing how to make the Akia Force and Live work together?
Thank you for the AKAI Force tutorials. Cant wait to get mine. Should arive soon. One question: Is it possible to change the cv/gate outputs to hz per volt and from v trig to s trig?
you missed the +/- buttons. I am wondering if they can be used for Tempo Bend. I can't seem to find any info anywhere. Wondering if anyone has any info?
I'm supposed to be getting mine in the mail tomorrow. The only thing that concerns me is that it doesn't look set up for much one handed operation. This is a problem for me because I play keyboards with a sampler live, and often I only have a quick little moment to use my left hand to change something on the sampler. I'm sure I'll figure out how to work around it though. This thing looks like a monster. I'm also worried that I haven't heard anyone use the built-in synths in a way that I like because everyone is making EDM or hip-hop with the Force, but I'm sure I'll be able to wrangle some dirty and warm textures out of it. If not, I'll just have to sample my existing synths. I was planning on borrowing some of my friends' classic analog synths anyway to make synth patches. Thanks for the video! I'm sure I'll be able to dive into it quickly after watching all these tutorials.
Thanks for your help. Can the Akai Force's note repeat function be used when in ableton link mode? In other words can the sounds from Ableton in Link mode be Note repeated from the Force?
Hey Matthew, I just saw your video saying you cannot connect an extra pedal to launch escenas? Tracks while you are playing another instrument like guitar for example. How are addressing this situation do you have a suggestion or I just go amd return my Akai force and get push 2 abbleton? Thanks and are you going to make a serial of videos from the begging like you did with MPC live. I love them cause you can learn very eficientemente! You r the best!
@@MatthewStratton thanks Matthew, I’m very new with the force. I just heard that you can use arrangement mode to build songs. That’s is something I can start with while Akai people figure it out that using a pedal to switch things is a plus... Are you going to make a video using arrangement which I could find in the manual? Thanks
There will be an update this month that will let users better integrate the Akai Force with Ableton Live. There has been no mention of pro tools that I am aware of, although you can always use the midi port to sync with pro tools and trigger midi notes.
He Matthew, great editing...could i ask for a little more space in between the audio edits ? like 4 frames or so extra, so it does not feel so chopped. But great pace in the video, it's really good to follow along...can't wait to get mine :)
Is the Force able to do the thing that the Push 2 does where you start different clips in different tracks in different scenes then when you like what you hear convert the active clips to make one complete scene arrangement ? Excellent videos by the way 💯🙌
You never explained "MASTER" that little Botton at the bottom right. So what exactly are we looking at? Submixes 1-8, Returns 1-4, Sends... How do we do it? Show us the MASTER!!!!!
@@MatthewStratton From the Matrix screen, I hit MASTER "showing master tracks" is this a dead zone except for assigning tempo and key? I can't get anything on this screen to do anything? Then I press mixer and I'm in a master mix areas but again, the "sends" page is another dead zone? What do I do there? There are 5 pages in the Master Mixer area that are confusing. So I watched "overview of all buttons" and right when it started to get to Master, the last button the video ends. To be continued?
Really helpful. Have had the Force a few days and have been a bit overwhelmed with all the button combinations!
Yeah, there are a lot of buttons lol

If money were no object I'd get one of these just to have it. Best product of 2020. Superb video!

Thanks for making it simple, logical and easy to understand the FORCE.
Thanks for the comment!

Thanks!!! Very clear and interesting!!!
Great vid, very helpful, thank you.
Excellent! Vast improvement in just days. Amazing..appears the real "Force" is you.
Thanx Matthew! Nice someone have done this to get me up and playing! Keep up, maaan!
Very helpful thank you!
Great video
If you press shift-launch does the sequencer go the next scene after the current one ends? [like Ableton]
Congratulations! Thanks 🙏 so useful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video man!!!
Appreciate it!
Do you know the shortcyt to get to the X/Y since the update?
Does the force have smart scale midi compatibility with ableton?
Awesome! Another great tut by you, the first Force superstar. I’m gonna call you Luke Skywalker! :) TY!
👍
Hey, how many clips can you have per track? Could I record 50 drum patterns and chain them all together in a song mode or arrangement?
When I change the swing I cant hear any difference. What I have to do to change the swing to the whole project?

The plus and minus buttons do the same thing as the data dial above them. Controls the red box within the touch screen.
Have you tried Tempo bending? I am on the fence of buying one and really want to replace one of my dj decks with this.
Nice rundown bro!
Thank man. Taking a couple day breather and then I will be back at it. 👍

Hi , it is possible to prelisten tracks ? Like a dj ?
What is the little arrow next to you search icon? 2.4 is without it
Thanks bro 👊🏾
No problem 👍

This would be seal or no deal for me ..
Much appreciated
still waiting for your force tutorials bro ! I have 1 question - how to edit note length in clip window?
awesome i cant wait to get it....... can you go through the memory and file systems also do you have an ssd as well?
I do not have a SSD installed, but there is a spot on the back for one. I am using a 128 GB SD card. Yes, I can add that to the list. 👍
thanks man. i still dont know what akai have in mind w this thing.
Thanks your videos a great I’m I waiting for the video on note mode
Thx, for doing this.

As Ableton User i must say.. in "Pad Mode" the Force is a faster Ableton :D
Very helpful!!
Can I use the Akai Force with Pro Tools or is it just for Abelton live.

Daft Funk Punks if not I hope they add it soon
Daft Funk Punks that’s the whole point of having a grid
Matthew do you like the force more than the live?
Not yet. Only 3 days in. It does feel like a nice piece of gear though. Will be fun to explore more.
What headphones are you using?
audio technica ath-m50x.
This box bad!
Yeah man, can't wait to get back at it. Steady working for a few days then I am going back in.
I want to play my entire song with a button press without having to toggle the launch button for each lane.
You and me both. I want to compose a song and also be able to bounce each track of that song to audio files.
I can’t wait for more updates.
Mathew Did you realize you can copy and paste rows as well as delete them just like you do tracks.
It comes with Ableton Lite? Thats a turn off.
The Akai Force does not come with Ableton at all.
@@MatthewStratton does it come with any software at all?
@@whatsinmykoolaid4714 No. Not when I bought it. It is Standalone. There is a mode to control Ableton Live with the Force if you want to.

You need to be in the mixer, then press "master" to get to the submixes, returns, and sends.
