    Thank you Expectaz for this demo. This trick can be used to emulate the "pumping" effect of a side-chain compressor, even if this trick can already be done with the Mother Ducker effect. Your demo is very easy to set up and is probably less CPU resources consuming.

    I discovered this by accident last night when i was trying to figure out the envelope follower and had it on the "random sample and hold" option and i was messing around with all the knobs playing in xy grid not expecting the synth the randomly sync up with a kick drum that i had on a another track. I'm pretty new to all this so when that happened even though it wasn't intentional i felt like a genius lol. Thank you so much for posting this so i can do it again... properly :P

    One thing to consider when using this method: you'll basically loose "undo" functionality. Unfortunately AKAI implemented this "performance mode" that way, so all these macros are actually changing the parameters they're assigned to. (on octatrack for example scenes are changing the resulting parameter, not the source one).
    And because of such implementation, each time macro is changing something you'll have this change in the "undo" history. :(
    But if you're not relying on "undo" too much, then it's a killer feature ofc. I've tried some psybient ideas and had a lot of fun with all these modulations :)

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow didn’t know that.. but now you’ve mentioned it, I did see a lot of undo stuff. Hope Akai will address this in a future update.

      @@Expectaz I'm in the same boat - i have an iPad pro and a pile of great synths (love the arps on the Moog Model 15 app - recommended) - a quick question - do you ever control these apps from the Force via Ableton Link? I'm thinking of using the chord function in the Force to trigger the arps on my iPad synths, recording the audio back into the Force - gonna get my head around that later.

    Thats very cool. Good tutorial. I was looking at the new maschine+ but I should be considering this too. Hard to find videos on this. Like the hype synth. Can you make sounds from scratch?

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hypesynth can be used to make sounds from scratch but not every parameter is available. You start with a so called template and have to work with that.. Tubesynth is better for building sounds from scratch. I’m making a tutorial about how to make a kick drum with it. Maschine plus has some cool synths but I think the sequencer and power of the force will blow the maschine away.
