TH-cam algorithm randomly threw this onto my home page, it's a great video! It has a good mix of technical explanation and entertainment. I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers, given the high quality of the editing and overall video. Hopefully this video explodes, I'm looking forward to seeing more game development videos from you!
I was so surprised to see this video had less than 1000 views, the quality is off the charts for such a small youtube channel. I can't wait to see what other video's you produce in the future!
Thanks for the video! The math for counteracting slope sliding you showed helped me to solve a problem on a project of mine--this was well put together and fun to watch. Wish you all the best!
So i stumbled on the vid becuase my aunt sent a link to the family group chat saying "my friends son made this wonderful game and won a competition!" Regardless of how I found it great video, I'll be sure to play inverted journey :))
I made a Scratch platformer with basically the exact same concept as Inverted Journey a few years ago. It looks sick and I just wishlisted it on Steam!
Awesome game! I've wishlisted Inverted Journey since its minimalistic art style really appeals to me. I love videos like this. I started dabbling with Godot last year for fun, and I've learned similar lessons in my short time with that engine! (Namely, backing up my projects *constantly.* I do that all the time now. A little time now saves a lot of time [and frustration] later!)
In my experience people just love the jiggles (me included). I made a soap bubble popping game for a game jam but without a softbody sim and it became so much better once I added it (after the jam). But uh congrats! and heck yeah shout out to that jelly car video, that's the exact same reason I got mine to work lmao
Great video, idk if you plan to make more videos on game jams or on your game but I subscribed :) Just maybe calm down a bit on the ads for your game 😅 (I mean, I get it but you can be a bit less in your face about it ;) )
Pretty interesting and congrats! Also, check out the game "Gish". They took the concept even further 20 years ago! You should hit those guys up and ask them if you can make a sequel to that game :D
man i think this guy wants us to wishlist his game. hmmmm but thats just a hunch i didint really see any call to action in this video at all!. great video #epic
Fun video! If you make more, I'd suggest trying to be more consistent with using present or past tense in your script, it makes it a bit harder to follow the narrative when you are jumping between the two constantly.
I wish there was some form of puzzle platformer I could wishlist on steam with a really cool level design gimmick, unfortunately I don't think such a game exists
You kind sir suffer from an overwhelmingly severe case of underratedness (like seriously, how do you make such great videos and have so little subscribers?).
this reminds me a lot of a mobile game called Leo's Fortune, like to the point that it looks like plagiarism. I'm assuming that you came up with this idea yourself and not stole the main mechanic from a mobile game.
@@derekwarner5639 I’ve never heard of Leo’s Fortune, but like I mentioned in the video I was pretty heavily inspired by jelly car so I won’t make the claim I was super original either way lol
Personal opinion, but I feel like the video could've been better if you didn't speak so fast at times... Was a bit of an issue for me understanding it at times.
Thanks for watching! And if you're interested, wishlist Inverted Journey on Steam here: store.steampowered.com/app/2883130/Inverted_Journey/
Appreciate the hustle
C A T
Will you be creating more levels on this Little slime that blows up? Feels like similar to super meat boy and players will speedrun it :P
Bro went so low that he glitched to the first place
Like Gandhi in Civ who can become such a pacifist the stat integer overflows to zero, suddenly making him ultra aggressive
@@within_the_sky2356 pretty sure thats an underflow.

for real

I’m glad it helped! Slopes are my mortal enemy and I’m glad to help someone else conquer them lol
So i stumbled on the vid becuase my aunt sent a link to the family group chat saying "my friends son made this wonderful game and won a competition!"
Regardless of how I found it great video, I'll be sure to play inverted journey :))
This guy is the definition of underrated lol, how do you only have 300 subs???
Woah, this is literally so cool, pushes me to develop more games, which i will do.
I made a Scratch platformer with basically the exact same concept as Inverted Journey a few years ago. It looks sick and I just wishlisted it on Steam!
Inverted Journey reminded me of the Shift series of flash games myself.
Great video! Though I can’t tell whether or not you want me to wishlist your game on steam
NGL the Minish Cap music in the outro is the sole reason I wishlisted Inverted Journey.
This video is so peak... keep making content dude! You will do good!
This was such a fun video to watch, great storytelling!!

Wow! Great job in the jam, I’m always wowed by the games people make and I love the cute style of your game.
this is so interesting, good job on winning!! The editing on this video is also pretty fire
Criminally underrated video! The quality is off the charts!
the sound design part was my favorite part 😂😂 not the jello on the walls 😂😂
Great video, idk if you plan to make more videos on game jams or on your game but I subscribed :)
Just maybe calm down a bit on the ads for your game 😅 (I mean, I get it but you can be a bit less in your face about it ;) )
How have you only made two videos and I’m already waiting for the next one😂 great job
Great video. You just got a follower! Really liked to hear about your inner thoughts on your process. Good luck with your game. Just wishlisted it
I watched this entire video thinking you could've had a million subscribers, really impressive quality so keep it up!
I'm also currently making a video on my gmtk entry, glad I'm not too late haha
Little slime blows up Wass one of my fav entries!
Epic. We’ve gotta get this man to 10k guys!
great work! congratulations, hoping to see you on this year's GMTK
This video is 5/5 educational enjoyment
Oh, wow! This is such a cool video! I adore the style and hope to see more from you :D
Really high quality video! super interesting to see the process as well
.. that is an INSANE like to view ratio.. 2257 views to 472 likes... like half of that many likes would be considered "really good" by my standard..
this was the only game I remember playing from the jam. good work I will definite try your recommendations.
baller video ngl, kinda inspired me to join a game jam sometime
Pretty interesting and congrats!
Also, check out the game "Gish". They took the concept even further 20 years ago! You should hit those guys up and ask them if you can make a sequel to that game :D
Good job on winning, and great video! Only issue I have is that the wishlist on steam joke got kinda overused, good luck with your future deving!
Great video! This is really cool :)
I came in the low 800s in the jam, great job Man
@@graysonlegend1039 congrats on that result, that’s also really good!
A very well made video and a very cool looking game! Congrats on the win!
I played it and finished it, really cool game, congratulations!
This… this… THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!
I cannot beleive that this has less than 100k views, the quality is incredible
Well done mate.
Also great video. Would love to see more game dev stuff from you.
man i think this guy wants us to wishlist his game. hmmmm but thats just a hunch i didint really see any call to action in this video at all!. great video #epic
How does this only have under 1k views, this is PEAK!
Awesome video and concept! have also wish-listed the game :)
This is so cool
Your editing is magnificent
Well done jimmy 🤝🤝

Caleb Gilbert and I made Bills & Bouquets, we got #26 in the public vote! It was so much fun haha.
oke i wil wishlist
The >-< face is so cute
This is so cool!
My question is; how long ‘till the speedrun community forms haha😂
Fun video!

Love the visuals on this! Working on editing a similar video right now lol - how did you animate scenes like in 6:01?
congratulations :)
awesome work!!!!
LETS GO JIMMY
I have a sneaking suspicion that his game inverted journey is on steam, he very subtly implied that throughout the video…
UNDERRATED
Great video!
This video about to explode
Congrats! A very fun game, and a great explanation video. When does Inverted Journey come out on Steam-can’t wait!!!
@@jimconnors5660 Thank you! the release date is TBD, but I’m hoping to get it out this year!

This is very similar to a great game called leo's fortune
Wait I am the 100th subscriber I think
22:44uh oh this sounds like an imposter syndrom talking
the game was def good and deserved it please don't undersell your work and effort (◔‿◔)
Only 133 subscribers? Crazy
Why isn’t this video way bigger?
(Popularity wise ofc)
bruv u deserve more subs
🔥🔥🔥
GOOD VID
❤
Cool!
btw dont use nintendo's music as a background music, they're pretty strict about this for some reason
Thats cool
great video but why didn't you mention that you are working on a game that i can wishlist right now on steam
