Love to see that they didn't play it safe and are spending an enormous budget and workforce to take a proper next step for the series with this game. The crossplay being in place will assure that this is even far bigger than World, I just hope for a proper stable launch. I'm a Japanese who has been playing the MH series since MH2, and CAPCOM is clearly responding to the popularity that MH World has gained with the international crowd, and seems to be conscious of creating a Monster Hunter that can be enjoyed by people outside of Japan. That makes me very happy. This is probably the first time the main character speaks lol
i wonder what max mean when he said " the armor doesn't look like classic monster hunter" when he hasn't tried or looked at old armor designs from previous series that's not world
Love heavy weapons like GS, BUT, the second weapon slot could be used for a status weapon like sleep DB or bowgun with status ammos which I could then swap to GS for wakeup hits ! Very excited to try
You could also now bring a cutting weapon and blunt weapon in every hunt so you always have the ability to cut tails or break horns regardless of what weapon you primarily use. Lots of different ways you can utilize the second slot.
Or, alternatively, for multi-monster hunts, 2 weapons for each elemental weakness. Or, perhaps, a monster that changes its resistances, with not only elemental but physical as well. One moment cutting and fire damage is all that works, then it enrages and suddenly it’s extremely resistant to everything but blunt/water. Could be a fun puzzle fight, imo.
Man I love how ppl complain about the consoles being worse than pc I’m just happy to be able to play it without having to pay thousands of dollars to make it look a little better never cared bout the graphics or fps of the console versions just gotten used to it as long as the game ran good and was fun had a blast playing

I used to also think graphics didn't matter, but over time i realized something. I realized that it's 2024 man and it's time that console got with the times. If you're asking me to pay 60-70 dollars for your product then i should be getting a product of that quality and up to the industry standard; graphics and all. it shouldn't be too much to ask for the game I buy to run smoothly and look good as I'm playing it; because all games should be that way by this point.
I'm a Glaive main so don't know how I feel about the auto bounce in the air because that made it fun for me. I do like that the focus mode does show you what extract you would get from the area you're aiming at though, although I know Red was usually from the head, white from the body and orange from the legs
Gathering extracts with regular attacks and being able to get all 3 at once is such an amazing change that I'll take the trade. That's the one thing that really kept me from loving the glaive. That annoying downtime just to be able to play the game.
@thepowerfulpaet4937 I do get that struggle, especially when you were always sending your Kinsect back and forth hitting it until you hit the right spot for the extract you needed. I will miss the additional aerial play though because the weapon was unique and the only one that really focuses on air-related combat and now that won't be in the game. Will be an adjustment.
Here's what happened. The San Francisco demo was way older build than what the Gamescom demo was at Germany. The Gamescom demo looked much better and was very smooth performance wise.
Wilds is going to be so wild. Honestly looks so great, even if it does look the fast arcadey feeling of Rise, all the QoL that Rise/Sunbreak brought being implemented in the World style of MonHun is just chefs' kiss
That's not IGN's fault, it's Gamescom's because Germany has ropey Internet quality and infrastructural problems. As in they are very slow to adapt to Fibreoptics and it's exacerbated by TH-cam compressing the footage further to cater to their servers and users with weaker Internet connections and computers.

There is no connectivity influencing that. Watch any other videos and the framerate never hitches this consistently. Max has native 4K footage he got personally, that he showed on stream of the demo, also captured in person that looks gorgeous. The framerate still isn't good but isn't running 10 frames a second like this lol

If we put it into perspective 9:24 that character no ordinary human lifted, the great lance one handed without issue must be fake weight, if that's IRL and I know this is a game but it's impossible if you think about it theoretically.

As someone who loved bow in World, seeing the homing mode it's getting in Wilds made me so happy. Since we can carry two weapons with us I can bring bow with my melee weapon.
What does this mean regarding devs and optimisation efforts though? It just seems to be a difficult skill to master that (at least the Sony) first parties have nailed down to a wizarding science. A part of me wonders if Sony should just have a studio that works with third party partners and focuses entirely on optimizing for their hardware. I dunno if that's even feasible or possible, but it just makes sense to me.
There were definitely some textures popping in and out sometimes, but to be fair the framerate on that IGN video is downright atrocious. None of the other presentations had these kind of problems, even if we're talking about a product that's still unfinished
It's not just that... I've been watching several footages from not just the official stream but also other ppls recordings of their playthroughs and it's happened here and there. They're running on PS5 so it's definitely working it's absolute butt off and/or the build is not well optimized yet, which is pretty standard for these recent MH demo releases.
I do hope with this new ambitious release, they make the small to medium monsters feel more formidable and active. Maybe take a more boss design like ancient leshen and great girros
Pretty sure they gave us all counters. In order to resetso-kiba the strings. As well as new moves that add fluency to the strings. I noticed it ALOT with long sword. But chargeblade has some juice.
Insect Glaive's aerial flurries no longer bounce us off the monster?! Wtf... That might kill the weapon for me. That was the best part and what made it unique. I can't fathom why they'd do that.. It allows for a constant stream of dps, maneuverability and positioning

Being a helicopter may not have been the most optimally damaging option most of the time, but it was hella fun and losing that option feels like I'm being forced into a style that doesn't appeal as much. Also, being a helicopter WAS the most damaging option against flying enemies. I liked taking the fight to the skies against Rathalos. Maybe helicopter mode will come back in a future update. (huffs more copium)

MH Wilds is looking great! The Bow and Arrow looks extra agile, but I think the Hunting Horn and Doot is looking extra juicy as well. 2025 is getting closer ya'll!!
I played the demo at gamescom. It was the ps5 version and yeah the fps is rough. It was 30 fps and lot of frame drops during hunt, especially noticable when fighting Rey Dau with the thunders around. And some of the textures on the monster are not rendered also. Hopefully it will be ironed out at release.
I'm pretty sure it's the weird deal they have with PS that makes them take odd choices like using an early PS5 build for the demo instead of PC or that one "second" trailer they showed at the state of play
I love how they are just giving guard counter to other weapons than the lance, but wish they buffed the lance guard counter. I'm not asking much, just wished for no knockbacks on perfect guard.
I hate the aerial nerf for IG. I don't care if ground was better for damage. It's a game about fun not being competitive. Taking away the one thing that made IG unique is just stupid imo.

What is with Max and complaining about stream quality? I swear he makes mountains over mole hills with this stuff as the game looks great to me. Like am I missing something? Does Max have a more discerning eye or am I just blind? Like nothing looks as bad as the way Max describes it and I'm super confused by it all the time with him.
The insect glaive being more grounded really sounds bad 😞 even if it was more efficient on the ground, the appeal really was in flying on top of the monster
@@VelvetAura honestly looking back at my hundreds of hours with IG in world, the helicopter was just for mounting most big damage was the downards thrust move into heavy combo
For Assist Kinsect, yeah ground is more efficient, but for Powder Kinsect, Aerial play potentially do more damage consistently when the enemy is moving around.
Thing is, just because you can't triple bounce doesn't mean it's suddenly got no reason to jump anymore, all the new moves, even ground ones seem to have some level of mobility to them where you leap forward, backflip or something. IG still gonna be the best at mounting and is still acrobatic, just not literally flying for like 10 seconds straight.
I've been playing Monster Hunter since MH4 Ultimate. I'm usually a Switch Axe and Insect Glaive user. From what I'm seeing with MHW, I may have to add some other weapons to the Arsenal.
@@l0rd_maxwell271 the buff reamains after the switch, it's official. but it's very far from be efficent. without horn maestro u need to do the whole double switch plus buff operation (do the notes, recital, encore) every 1 or 2 minuts. every 2 or 3 minutes with horn maestro. in general hunt it's probably impraticable. as a team strategy with a final horn with extend melody instead it's a completely different story.
I really hope they dont downgrade this game in any shape or form! I am loving everything about it, from it being ambitious to the world feeling alive etc. imagine how this game will feel and look on full release!!
It feels like a lot of games are starting to be made for PC release, which ends up aging the consoles instead. It's not as much worried about "How will this manage to run on console" and less constrained overall.
Man, I wish Monster Hunter hit with me. Played MHW for a week, and realized that not having friends to play with made it not so fun. I will run the idea of playing by my friends before buying this time. I really wanna be a fan of this series.
I've never played a single Monster Hunter game and I was intrigued by Worlds and Rise but never took the leap but Wilds has me VERY interested. From the combat to the armor designs and the open world this game has me by the balls.
Still some time until release. Highly recommend jumping into world. If judged purely on fun, I would say mh world is the best game ever made imo. Especially with friends

My Ryzen 3700U laptop rises to the challenge. 12 FPS ish when on foot at the start of the FF16 demo. (Sitting on funds for a cheap compact new machine and waiting)
6:16 it always was, except in Rise. You did way more damage on ground. Aah there's too many weapons im interested this time. SNS looks so much fun like in rise and so does GunLance. Maybe ill main IG,SNS,CB,GL and bow. Atleast combat shouldnt get boring anytime soon.
Here's the thing , they saw the success of world and rise and monster hunter has always been capcoms baby , it's been a long time since the announcement and they know fans are hungry for info , this was strictly to get hype and intrigue built around the game , I highly doubt they would let this be like dragons dogma I think on release for console we will have a 60fps performance mode as well as a high res 4k with 30 and above fps
im not an insect glaive main per se. it is my most played weapon for sure and im so disappointed they gutted the aerial combat. i dont think ill touch IG at all in wilds now
I don't think its gone cus I've seen people still staying in the air. There might be an new attack to do it or maybe this means switch skills are back.
I don't really care about that. It still has aerial combat, you just can't do it forever. And it was always better on the ground anyway. This approach is closer to 4U than anything.
@@yanribeiro7108 yeah that's not an excuse to remove an entire playstyle just because they couldn't balance the damage output for the aerial attacks properly. Sunbreak actually made it viable as well and mastering your air maneuverability is what makes this playstyle so rewarding and unique.

I've always preferred American lance to regular lance but i am intrigued with all the new stuff for regular lance.
I am getting this game day one! Can't wait.

MH Wilds is looking great! The Bow and Arrow looks extra agile, but I think the Hunting Horn and Doot is looking extra juicy as well. 2025 is getting closer ya'll!!
I played the demo at gamescom. It was the ps5 version and yeah the fps is rough.
It was 30 fps and lot of frame drops during hunt, especially noticable when fighting Rey Dau with the thunders around.
And some of the textures on the monster are not rendered also.
Hopefully it will be ironed out at release.
If they think it's good enough to show publicly, they think it's good enough to release.
I have been talked out of Insect Glaive.
I'm pretty sure it's the weird deal they have with PS that makes them take odd choices like using an early PS5 build for the demo instead of PC or that one "second" trailer they showed at the state of play

I love how they are just giving guard counter to other weapons than the lance, but wish they buffed the lance guard counter. I'm not asking much, just wished for no knockbacks on perfect guard.
I hate the aerial nerf for IG. I don't care if ground was better for damage. It's a game about fun not being competitive. Taking away the one thing that made IG unique is just stupid imo.
Im 99% sure that its not actually gone. Ive seen people continue the aerial stuff accidentally. Im pretty sure its just a different input now
@@camerondavis800 Can you link me any of those videos if you remember? I have seen no information at all of aerial "combos" continuing except a move that kinda looked like the kinsect slash, although its tied to focus mode and you can't do more than one

What is with Max and complaining about stream quality? I swear he makes mountains over mole hills with this stuff as the game looks great to me. Like am I missing something? Does Max have a more discerning eye or am I just blind? Like nothing looks as bad as the way Max describes it and I'm super confused by it all the time with him.

The insect glaive being more grounded really sounds bad 😞 even if it was more efficient on the ground, the appeal really was in flying on top of the monster
itll definately feel different, hopefully they let us get a skill or something for at least 1 more bounce
tbf IG was always pretty damn good on the ground too but we will see. The fun factor with the weapon is very important.
@@VelvetAura honestly looking back at my hundreds of hours with IG in world, the helicopter was just for mounting most big damage was the downards thrust move into heavy combo
For Assist Kinsect, yeah ground is more efficient, but for Powder Kinsect, Aerial play potentially do more damage consistently when the enemy is moving around.
Thing is, just because you can't triple bounce doesn't mean it's suddenly got no reason to jump anymore, all the new moves, even ground ones seem to have some level of mobility to them where you leap forward, backflip or something. IG still gonna be the best at mounting and is still acrobatic, just not literally flying for like 10 seconds straight.

I've been playing Monster Hunter since MH4 Ultimate. I'm usually a Switch Axe and Insect Glaive user. From what I'm seeing with MHW, I may have to add some other weapons to the Arsenal.
I'm hoping the PS5 Pro comes out before or soon after the release of Wilds.

Oh yeah, that's a really good point. Hopefully you and your teammates lose any buffs the hunting horn gave if you switch it out.

@@l0rd_maxwell271 the buff reamains after the switch, it's official. but it's very far from be efficent. without horn maestro u need to do the whole double switch plus buff operation (do the notes, recital, encore) every 1 or 2 minuts. every 2 or 3 minutes with horn maestro. in general hunt it's probably impraticable. as a team strategy with a final horn with extend melody instead it's a completely different story.

I really hope they dont downgrade this game in any shape or form! I am loving everything about it, from it being ambitious to the world feeling alive etc. imagine how this game will feel and look on full release!!
It feels like a lot of games are starting to be made for PC release, which ends up aging the consoles instead. It's not as much worried about "How will this manage to run on console" and less constrained overall.
Man, I wish Monster Hunter hit with me. Played MHW for a week, and realized that not having friends to play with made it not so fun. I will run the idea of playing by my friends before buying this time. I really wanna be a fan of this series.

I've never played a single Monster Hunter game and I was intrigued by Worlds and Rise but never took the leap but Wilds has me VERY interested. From the combat to the armor designs and the open world this game has me by the balls.
Still some time until release. Highly recommend jumping into world. If judged purely on fun, I would say mh world is the best game ever made imo. Especially with friends

@@DandySlayer13 id be careful on the open world expectations. Technically this hasnt been confirmed or denied. How do you feel about the change between the first and second trailers for veilguard (or i guess the two most recent ones)

6:16 it always was, except in Rise. You did way more damage on ground. Aah there's too many weapons im interested this time. SNS looks so much fun like in rise and so does GunLance. Maybe ill main IG,SNS,CB,GL and bow. Atleast combat shouldnt get boring anytime soon.
Here's the thing , they saw the success of world and rise and monster hunter has always been capcoms baby , it's been a long time since the announcement and they know fans are hungry for info , this was strictly to get hype and intrigue built around the game , I highly doubt they would let this be like dragons dogma I think on release for console we will have a 60fps performance mode as well as a high res 4k with 30 and above fps

im not an insect glaive main per se. it is my most played weapon for sure and im so disappointed they gutted the aerial combat. i dont think ill touch IG at all in wilds now

I don't think its gone cus I've seen people still staying in the air. There might be an new attack to do it or maybe this means switch skills are back.
I don't really care about that. It still has aerial combat, you just can't do it forever. And it was always better on the ground anyway. This approach is closer to 4U than anything.
@@yanribeiro7108 yeah that's not an excuse to remove an entire playstyle just because they couldn't balance the damage output for the aerial attacks properly. Sunbreak actually made it viable as well and mastering your air maneuverability is what makes this playstyle so rewarding and unique.

Objectively speaking, however, Removing the ability to do it infinitely fits much better a more grounded game like wilds, while giving more focus to the insect part of it which was always lacking. I am also not sad about silkbind skills not being present either, despite them also having entire playstyles.
Killing the insect glaive bounce basically kills the weapon. Not using that anymore.
I'm kinda worried about ps5 version now, I really wanna play on the big TV screen but if they don't optimize the hell out of this I'll just have to get it on pc... Maybe ps5 pro comes out on time and solve this issue?

To be fair, I am personally giving the performance an excuse because as far as I know they were playing this all on PS5s. It still should be worked on of course.
