I felt that too. I was using Charge Blade, blocking and dodging his shit with the banger that is Rotten Vale's fight theme on the background... Still one of my favorite moments from ALL the game.
It's always a rush to fight Odo. Love that meat pup. When I first fought him with Insect Glaive, I had so many cool moments where I jumped over his lunges.
as a LBG player, that one was TOUGH, it just got up in my face with very little to do for me! Never switched tho, biggest feeling of "I DID IT" I've ever felt in my life coming from a videogame
Would love to see him react to cutscenes and the cgi ecology videos from past games. Since Max is looking forward to Rise I can't wait for him to see more old monsters, especially a certain jet dragon that might be coming to Rise.
I think the fact that early/mid game monsters becoming endgame monsters plays a factor into it. Like by the time you meet tigrex in MHW:I you've fought new world ending elders multiple times and even trex like dinosaurs more than a few times. Whereas in something like MHFU you've been fighting dromes and collecting plants when you bump into this trex dragon with the loudest roar you have heard and iirc the biggest most menacing monster you have seen up until then.
World changed old world monsters that it fits the new world style so, personally, some aren't really obvious. But playing through 4U and GU, most 1st and 2nd gen monsters are just a slog that you need to really specifically build just so you can enjoy them hunting.
I mean, who doesn't get PTSD from My little Kirin who consistently move, missing your crits hit while zapping your ass 24/7? And it's really become staples from MHFU..
@@helmiboboy I remember you can actually "stun lock" Kirin with a longsword in MHFU, really hard to do but when you manage to do that just once or twice that feels really good. Doesn't work on the taller ones, though.
Honestly, in the older games where poison would negate the wind aura, Daora was actually a pretty fun fight. Now they just overdid it and locked the weakening feature behind elder seal.
@@xxstylinonyaxx2622 Reminds me of fighting Rathalos in the original game. 80% of the fight was spent waiting for him to stop his circuit around the area so you can hit him
I still have nightmares of 4U Garuga He turned around and he straight up pulverized me, 100 to 0 just for turning around, probably a 0 frame charge but I'm not sure
I still wish Pukei had been given more of a chance to shine. The way its poison attacks varied with what it ate was cool but almost unnoticeable normally.
Yeah, theres only one unique thing I remember is that it eats scatternuts its subsequent poison blobs sometimes stuns you, can't remember what the other eaten things do
I wish we had gotten Gypceros instead of Pukei-Pukei. It feels like the World team just ripped Gypceros in half, gave us Pukei-Pukei and Tzitzi Ya-Ku. At least Gypceros could play dead, that's at least funny!
@@taloscal Tzi: "Hey, smile for the camera." *flash* Monster: "WHY IS IT SO FUCKIN BRIGHT" Tzi: "Thanks for holding still, this will look great at you funeral."
it does suck that it lost invader status. But the fight itself is so much better imo. The way it just fills up the screen with explosions is absolutely nuts.
I like seething more, but in addition to the loss of invader status it also stinks that we lose base bazel in master rank. Variants are supposed to be rare, yet they did this with savage deviljho too. They appear to commonly and they lose that special feeling they should have.
Max's thoughts on the monsters-especially the older ones considering he's a newcomer to the series, is something I've wanted to see from him for a while. Can't wait to see if he'll do this again with Rise, where the new monsters are going with this cool Yokai theme and there will be more old monsters, especially those that didn't make it to World. EDIT: Glad to see that Glavenus is Max's favorite monster, personally he's my favorite Brute Wyvern.
As cool as rajang is he would get bodied by nerg (or at least ruiner nerg). There are very few monster that I don’t think ruiner nerg could kill (mostly black dragons).
@@NCMETAL I agree, nergigante is the elder killer and his thing is adapting to a fight, he’s monster hunter wolverine. His only opponents who outmatch him are fatalis, alatreon, dire miralis, dalamadur, amatsu(I personally think he’s strong enough to beat amatsu just more can he even catch him in the air), safijiiva may be able to out firepower nergi in every way but idk which one would be able to out heal the other so I’m more 50/50 on this one, ceadus because he can’t go in the ocean to get him, nakarkos same reason but also he’s IMO too big for nergi besides this when he’s on land, the other “elder” who’d beat nergi is athal because mecha would dragonate him to hell, and finally valstrax because 1, too fast in the air too catch, 2 one stab from valstrax could fuck up any biological creature and I personally think he’s too durable since he’s mostly immune to physical attacks, and 3 valstrax can outmaneuver him pretty easily. Nergigante is the goat, ruiner makes him even greater and it’s all just fun
@@ivanSMart54 very true, but let’s not over-exaggerate anything, I think they only non-elder dragon that could beat Nergigante or ruined nergigante would be raging brachydios, as nothing will be in the area with one and, lore wise he’s the most powerful non-elder, the only other monsters I think could beat ruiner nergi is good rathian or silver rath, but even then nerg would probably win, nergigante could probably kill a baby xenojiiva, but not Safi’jiiva as he’s way to powerful for nerg or ruiner, other then that, nerg doesn’t have too much competition.
@@Hraezlyrrrr I don't remember anything saying raging bracydios is the "strongest non-elder dragon". I'm pretty sure the tyrants of fire and ice are stronger.
When I was a new player to HR, I remember fighting something in the ancient forest and suddenly I got dive-bombed and carted by a flying scaled donut. traumatized me
The main reason barely anyone knows that is because there's really no point in doing so. Don't get me wrong, it is cool that you can do it. But what makes it useless is that by the time you walk to his back and start mining, he's already getting up. It's the same thing with Zinogre. You need to catch the bugs on his back, but unless he falls down with his back right in front of you, you are bound to waste time getting into position. Back when I was farming his materials I remember getting really triggered about those bugs because most of the time I wouldn't make it to his back in time to catch them. So it basically becomes an issue of "Do I waste time and dps trying to mine/catch while he's down? Or do I unleash my full combo and kill him faster and, basically, get more and better mats?"
@@GameAlicornLuna did you not read my second response? The game literally tells you to use the net against zinogre but I don't remember anyone telling to use a pick axe against a monster
@@luddbros689 I like them because these monsters force you to actually plan your hunt. In the early game you'll soon realize that Picklejho and Bazelgeuse are recurring threats you cannot deal with. So you'll need to come up with a plan in case they decide to show up and ruin your day. In my case they taught me to always bring some dung bombs. I think they're meant to be intimidating and hard to fight (at least early in the game) rather than fun. Their design is also pretty cool: one is a massive angry and hungry t-rex, the other is a B-52 which will give you war ptsd. Their concepts are so over the top and dumb that everyone loves them
@@DXYS95 eh... I Plan my hunts regardless. If fun wasn't a priority for these guys then I don't understand. And at least Jho is learnable and "only" has a breath attack, Bazel flies around so you encounter him too frequently! And I cannot predict those flippin' bombs!!! Even Plesioth Is better than Bazel because he wasn't an invader, if I remember correctly... (Sorry for eventual bad english)😫
kirin is literally the bane of my existence when it comes to monster hunter, this annoying bastard literally almost made me break my 120 dollar controller lol
A little underrated because he's such an early fight but I've got a soft spot for Barroth. The plate scales along his back are actually pretty sick looking, the way he rolls around in mud is super endearing, and his weaknesses changing depending on if he has mud or not is a cool idea even if a little too early in the game to really be a big factor in the fight.
Fun fact: Shara Ishvalda have moments where it will look at the camera, not on the hunter, just strait at camera and follow it if you move the camera :D

I really wish Banbaro had more HP because literally everything else about him is badass. He rivals Jho as the largest Brute in the game and despite being an otherwise complete gentle giant, he doesn't back down against other more ferocious monsters.
I’m sorry but I do not get the hype about him. He’s a giant, fluffy reindeer that can somehow exist in hot places like the Wildspire Waste and Elder’s Recess(seriously that annoys me so much!) he’s just... there.
@@songbird6414 he's a pretty unique monster at the very least. The fact that he carries trees and rocks to run you over is was a brilliant idea. Just sucks that hes an early encounter monster

@@derrickhaggard it´s actually alive, but wears the skin of other dead monsters as well as formed a symbiotic relationship with effluvia---a lot like Eddy Brock and Venom (basically co-dependent on survival) and can harness it as a bio-weapon. It takes complete advantage of an ecosystem by using the bacteria and weaponizes it as well. What a badass monster (though we don´t actually know what it´s identity was before using the effluvia in the vale)
30:12 A monster covered in rocks that breaks them after it receives some damage isn't something new for the franchise, in the now dead (since December 2019) spin-off MMO MH Frontier Online, there was a monster named Taikun Zamuza which was a BIG CRAB covered in dirt very similar to Shara Ishvalda and you must remove the dirt in a similar fashion… but also it goes beyond that because it doesn't just remove its dirt cover, it can also remove its organic shell/amor to enter a special 3rd face. So, when I faced Shara Ishvalda for the first time I already knew that it was covered in rocks and it wasn't that is true form because MHFO did it firt in 2012 with Taikun Zamuza.
Behemoth was always the fight I was most looking forward to doing with my friends. It helps that FFXIV is my favorite video game, but I didn't even seriously play until Heavensward so I don't have that nostalgia. The fight is so just so god damn cool and fun with great team mechanics; The FF text, music, victory fanfare, ability names next to your damage...all of that was just icing on the cake. 14/10
It’s one of those cross overs that REALLY felt like a cross over. Roles basically being a complete requirement and doing mechanics really shines here. But it’s kinda lame to see the effort put into Behemoth and then see FFXIV Rathalos. The fight was cool (and stupidly easy even for an extreme) but besides the little motifs it didn’t bring out what MH really is as a game.
I like Kirin. I really do... well I like NEW Kirin. Even without the 'raincoat', I really actually have fun with my brother dismantling that lil pony. It's about patience and knowing what to look for... and for me? Blocking things I can't dodge. Old MHFU Kirin can go straight to [REDACTED]. I hated fighting it in those games, and would work a greatsword just to get it over with faster.
That's why GS or Hammer is the easiest weapon for kirin even though it sounds so polarizing, "Crazy fast monster with slow heavy hitting weapon?" Well since kirin health is not that big, hitting it once or twice with big damage then disengage is far safer than small chip damage but you must hit it frequently. You don't even need to be good GS or Hammer user, just make crit draw build and you're set heck even normal build is enough as long you're not greedy with your hit
@@rudolfdirks9253 Never really liked bowguns. I mean, I dabble now and then but every time... every game... I wind up just going "this isn't the weapon for me".
I really love how he went from having vague interest in playing MHW when it was first announced to it now being one of his favorite games of all time in just a span of two years. I still look back at his first playthroughs of Vanilla MHW, and just glee across my face as he was discovering things, getting into the mechanics of hunting, crafting, and fighting. They were like mine when I first played MH3U, and I cannot wait for Rise and cannot wait to possibly play in a hunt with Max. Happy hunting, Max! See you in 3 months.
Fulgur Anja is a 10/10 for me. Looks absolutely badass with that electric blue all over it, the new attacks are really cool and different from regular Anja(especially that last-ditch, all-out leaping attack that discharges all the electricity into a single bite, so cool) and most importantly, it has the best variant roar! Also glad to see Mama Taroth and Ishvalda get some appreciation, both are really up there as some of the best fights and moments in the game. The phase transition for Ishvalda is just...fwoof. The way the music kicks in with the roar is so goddamn cool. And Fatalis obviously is the absolute apex monster of the game. Few things have made my heart pound more than that fight. And the amount of pure relief when it's over...
@@DragonGunzDorian A few variants have an unique roar, like Brute Tigrex(during unique attacks), Seething Bazel(after divebomb) and Fulgur Anja(when fully charged with electricity).
@@usamimi-no-majo Ok that's interesting to note, but what confused me is that fulgar is a subspecies instead of a variant. I'm 99% sure brute is too. Seething however is indeed a variant.
@@usamimi-no-majo brief overview of different terms we've seen in the main series. (There are a ton more in frontier for instance) Subspecies are basically entirely separate branch of the species that are their own separate thing that evolved down a different path due to environmental factors. Name wise a lot of them have a color in their name. Crimson qurupeco, green nargacuga, pink rathian etc. Though of course there are exceptions like brute tigrex, tigerstripe zamtrios, and coral pukei pukei who's names aren't directly named after a singular color. Variants on the other hand are not a separate species, they are members of the same species that take on new levels of power after going through specieific events. For example raging brachydios starts out as a normal brachy and then later acquires a symbiotic relationship with Flashpoint slime to become a raging brachy. With furious rajang its long been thought that rajangs who have had their tails cut off have the loss of their tails effect the nerves in their heart causing a transformation into a furious rajang. Name wise you'll notice most variants have an adjective added to their names. Savage deviljho, shrieking legiana, seething bazelgeuse. The one exception I can think of is blackveil vaal hazak who is a variant. Back in generations ultimate we had deviants which like variants were monsters of the normal base species that went through a transformation into a new powerful form. Except deviants get this transformation rarely through surviving fights with hunters and other monsters. These monsters are experienced in combat and their repeated combat experience combined with obtained injuries sometimes cause the transformation into a deviant where they obtain new higher levels of power. Name wise their names are generally titles to denote that they are special as individuals. Thunderlord zinogre, soul seer mizutsune, silverwind nargacuga. Additionally as far as I know we unfortunately have no deviants elder dragons which would be awesome. Next we have rare species, which for all intensive purposes are the same as subspecies except much more rare and significantly more powerful. Rare species include gold rathian, silver rathalos, molten tigrex, lucent nargacuga, abyssal lagiacrus, etc. This clear things up? Honorable mention from frontier I would absolutely love to see in the main series one day are origin species. Origin species are a branch of a species of monster that much more closely resemble that species ancestors. Basically its like going back in time to see what this monster looked like before it evolved into what it did. My favorite of the 4 origin species frontier had was voljang, the origin species of rajang. My second favorite is yama kurai, the origin species of yama tsukami.
Glad to see Diablos is still giving hunters a great challenge. I remember when I was a kid struggling very hard against the beast. It was the first time I felt fear in a video game.
I love tzi tzi because during all of MHW he is the most powerful monster since he could make your pc crash to desktop with his flash attack on early build of the game.
The first monster to get my adrenaline pumping upon hearing its roar, my god. I remember that being the only thing i was afraid of anytime i did a high rank expedition lol.
I'm not sure why but every couple months I come back and watch this video again. Just that entertaining I suppose, and a bit nostalgic since this video is what got me interested in Monster Hunter in the first place!
I come back too for the nostalgia. His World and Iceborne streams were some of the most entertaining content I've ever watched. Looking forward to him playing MH6. This time I hope his usual crew of friends stick with the game longer than they did with World. Any time it's the four of them playing LAN, in one room, screaming as they are kicking a monster's ass...It's peak entertainment.
9:13 Most of the players fight to see who is the best waifu between the Handler, the Serious Handler and Third Fleet Master, but my MHWaifu is BAZEL because she helped me a lot in High Rank, maybe the players prefer the DevilBRO to help them, but for me my BIG BOMBER GIRL will always be THE BEST and I'm sad that she doesn't invade in Master Rank. 26:20 While I'm sad that Bazel doesn't invade in Master Rank, when I reunited with her in the Elder Recces now even more... explosive, oh boy, it was an AMAZING experience, it really felt like I was dealing with bomber place... right after I made my first 2 MR armors (Barioth and Nargacuga) which both were weak to fire… but that only made the experience even more AMAZING. I LOVE MY BIG BOMBER GIRL!

"Fatalis overshadows Alatreon in every way." This is true. I can't even beat Fatalis... I'm a terrible hunter... I can beat Alatreon, but I can't even make it to Fatalis 3rd phase! I will never hear Proof of A Hero!
then...... git gut xD No on a serious note, get yourself the best equipment you can get and then learn the figtht. Learn the behaviour patterns, attack patterns, the correct positioning and especially how to dodge through an attack. ANd then study your weapons to death and learn how to counter all his attacks (ok not all, but most all of ´em). That´s pretty all you need to do. It is quite a lot, but it is worth the effort.
In my personal experience of playing MHW, here's some of my fav monsters: -Tobi-Kadachi: it's a really cool looking monster and had some interesting gimmicks about it, for me it's a solid 7/10. -Radobahn: awesome looking beast and it's armour looks sick too. Plus it looks like it's kinda wearing an exo-skeleton with all the bones. 8/10 -Vaal Hazak: Holy shit! That thing creeped me out but it was so incredible in design plus the armour makes you look like a Nazgul from LOTR! 9/10 -Zinogre/Stygian Zinogre: my personal fav monster to fight. A Thunder Wolf Wyvern with one of the most badass themes in the series, 11/10 for me. My least fav monsters: -all piscine monsters: they can literally just go do one. Uninteresting and so annoying to fight. (Even tho Plesioth isn't in the game, thank fuck, just fighting that thing in previous games makes me wanna rage. Screw hip checks.) 1/10 -Rajang: in one way i like the fact that it's a challenging monster to fight and such but personally even with the best armour in the game with maxed defence and chugging down all the Mega Armourskins to survive blows from this thing, it's still gonna do like 70%/80% of your health. Screw you angry monkey. 1/10 -Zorah Magdaros: honestly the size of that thing at first sold me but then when i eventually got the chance to "fight" it, wholly underwhelming and the armour in terms of design just sucks. Also trying to fight this thing solo is so hard cuz you gotta manage all the cannons whilst the NPC's that load them just stand there twiddling their thumbs instead of blasting this walking volcano into smithereens. Boring, slow, uninteresting and just a snooze fest. 0/10 sorry this is a little long but just had to put it out there :p
It's really nice seeing him talk about all the monsters so passionately. It'd be super neat if he could just react to older monster, or even the special ones in Frontier, like the Big bird one
Fun fact: the Pukei Pukei you fight at high rank was originally meant to be the low rank. Devs decided it was too tough for low and moved him to high while creating a weaker version for low
If that's true then that would explain why MHW vanilla is the second easiest MH game of the few that I've played, only MHGen vanilla was easier and that's why I didn't played MHGU.
Alatreon was pretty much the reality check for everyone sticking to their non-elemental builds and weapons. The Dev's way of telling Greatsword players, "START USING ELEMENTS!"
Well, not like you had any reason to use elements before him. It was mathematically inferior because capcom refuses to try out some higher variance in elemental motion values. Plus, you could obviously run fortify and still use a raw weapon if you wanted to. Or if you didn't have an elemental weapon and still wanted to do the monster just by learning the moveset. Just have to deal with practically unavoidable deaths that way, which people are oddly okay with.
The funny thing is in the end fatalis obsene raw overwrite the need for elemental. My 6.22 run was done with fatalis raw GS lol and so are the best speedruns.
You know you've been watching max for a while when even through you haven't seen all his fights with the monsters but you know what he is going to rate them anyway
The first time I ran into the B2 Bomber (Because I can't spell to save my life), I was in the middle on my first fight in High Rank. I was taking on a Rathalos, first five minutes of the fight, he gets into a Turf War with a Anjanath, than THIS GUY shows up and just bombs all of us 🤣 I get carted, the Rathalos, and the B2 Bomber fuck off and leave the locale, and I'm left with a pissed off Anjanath when I get back.
22:43 Brachydios isn't from the PSP era, not at all, it debuted as the flagship monster of MH3 Ultimate which was made for the 3DS and Wii U by the A-Team, and said game came out after the last MH game for the PSP, MH Portable 3rd, which was made by the B-Team which it didn't even came out in the west officially. Also, Brachydios and Glavenus aren't from the same game at all, not even in the same generation of the MH franchise, and their games were NOT even made by the same dev team. Brachydios was created in the 3RD generation by the A-Team which are also the devs of MHW and Iceborne, while Glavenus was created in the 4TH generation by the B-Team which are the devs of MHRise. 31:10 In fact, Yian Garuga was the first monster created by the B-Team, it was introduced in MH Freedom (technically it was Scarred Yian Garuga but I'm not going to go into details) and is one of the FAVORITE monsters of the DIRECTOR of all the games made by the B-Team, Yasunori Ichinose. Glavenus is a lot more related with Yian Garuga than with Brachydios.
Really fun “Rate The-“, Given how much max loves MHW im actually glad to see he did this for the monsters of the game, Hopefully he does the same once Monster Hunter Rise drops with its own expansion
I can understand the frustration with Tzitzi-Ya-Ku; however, I used that monster as an unwitting sidekick in hunts multiple times by having him blind the other target. I would merely roll or sprint out of the way before it lit up its area of effect and then hostile monsters were stunned. It was beautiful.
Rajang are really just Saiyans. Angry, fights with bare heands (Furious version even has a Beam attack). Regular Rajang gets into Super Saiyan, his tail is weak spot. Furious Rajang is in SSJ1 all the time, when he gets angried he gets extra sparky (SSJ2), his tail is cut off (so no more weak spot). I'm pretty sure this is exactly how Saiyans look when using Freeza-o-vision.
man, Viper Tobi was my first wall in Iceborne and I grew to love him a lot when you learn to recognise what he's going to do, the fight becomes much less annoying he's also surprisingly chill outside of fights, I just LOVE watching this guy walk around the locale

I myself enjoyed the fight, had to solo bcuz groups ppl fainted too often. Got the tickets i needed, retired to just helping other players
22:58 Brachydios was introduced as a minor flagship in MH3 next to Lagiacrus. Glavenus was introduced as the flagship of MH Generations and is part of a 4 monster group called the Fated Four, next to Astalos, Mizutsune, and the highly underrated Gammoth.
To answer your assumption, Brachydios and Glavenus are from two different Generations of games. Brachydios is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and Glavenus was the main flagship out of four flagship monsters for Monster Hunter Generations.
I'm afraid with the leshan fight I would have to disagree. Having the feeling at first as Geralt of Rivia taking on a monster from his world is a 10 out of 10 fight on its own due to the Witcher 3 being my favorite game of all time. The feeling of remembering fighting him in Witcher is so cool when they translate some of his moves into world and it's like, oh shit I know that move. The leshan sending waves of branches and roots at you from a distance, him sending jagras and revoltures as he would send wolfs and crows at you was just wow for me. Now will I say it's better than behemoth, no. But if it wasn't for the Ancient Leshan, the fight would just be a 10 out of 10 for me. Ancient was just too much of am extreme behemoth in the completely wrong direction.
Brachis slime is not acid. Its naturally occurring moss that explodes when disturbed. When he licks it it grows faster and his shell prevents the moss from exploding.
when I do the quest "mans best friend" I grab all the traps I can carry then I grab the traps in the supply box then even before he can roar I place a trap and paralyze him then I give it all I got then later in the fight I set the supply box trap and attack him with all my might again odogaron is such an easy fight with traps
It's interesting to see how someone who started with World view some of this monsters compared to a veteran. Like, a lot of these (specially the new ones that debuted in World) I'd rate a lot different. For example I don't like Nergi a lot. I think the fight is REALLY fun, but his design doesn't appeal to me. I do agree that he feels really threatening. Also Stygian was done dirty for being in the same update as Safi recon. When Stygian was introduced to the franchise in 3 Ultimate, it was just the better Zinogre. Back then Zinogre was considered super easy for having way too many openings, so Stygian basically came and worked out these weaknesses and made him look cooler. His weapons were also a lot better back then... Kinda the best weapons in 3U besides the Brachydios ones (cause slime/blast was broken back then). In the end, I don't like MANY of the new monsters (specially the ones in vanilla world) because they meld together for being kinda too simple when back in the 3rd and 4th generations even early game monsters had more of a crazy flare to them. And it kinda looks like Rise is picking up the slack, and that's one of the reasons I'm hyped for it.
Agreed, I like seeing a newcomer perspective like Max's on the older monsters, and it's true that I don't see some of World's original monsters as impressive compared to what came before. Rise however looks like it's going to have some really cool new monsters, and I can't wait to see how they compare to World once the full game comes out.
My dood max is having a ptsd flashback because of thunder pony is absofuckingtutly 100% accurate, yet my all time favorite is fatalis since I started on Ps2 & knowing how they brought him back was my hypest moment of the year.
Holy fuck i adore this franchise. Mhw got its last update a while back and the game is still extremely active and fun even when you complete the story. and with rise coming out, its never been better.
10:03 Fun fact about Bazel, when he's 'enraged' he isn't mad, he just has a lot of adrenaline pumping in him. (which is probably the reason why he ambushes you and your hunt)

I kind of want him to react to the monster intros from monster hunter 4U since I think they’re some of the coolest intros in the series.
Would love to see him react to cutscenes and the cgi ecology videos from past games. Since Max is looking forward to Rise I can't wait for him to see more old monsters, especially a certain jet dragon that might be coming to Rise.
Or more like react to monster sizes from the 10th anniversary
Yes! Some from Freedom Unite are very nice
Personally, i just want max's opinion on gogmazios
MH3s ecology videos are the best
I like hearing the new players takes on returning monsters. They’ve never faced them before and they can point out flaws that I wouldn’t recognize.
I see Max still suffers from Kirin PTSD
I mean, who doesn't get PTSD from My little Kirin who consistently move, missing your crits hit while zapping your ass 24/7?
And it's really become staples from MHFU..
I still remember back in the PSP MHF2 days were his side skip (same animation as the kelbi) would trip you and do a ton of dmg :
Screw that cheap unicorn arse!
@@helmiboboy I remember you can actually "stun lock" Kirin with a longsword in MHFU, really hard to do but when you manage to do that just once or twice that feels really good. Doesn't work on the taller ones, though.
I think EVERYONE gets PTSD from Kirin....
100% agree on Daora, always looked cool, never fun to fight.
Wind barrier intensifies since MHDos
Honestly, in the older games where poison would negate the wind aura, Daora was actually a pretty fun fight. Now they just overdid it and locked the weakening feature behind elder seal.

Yeah, theres only one unique thing I remember is that it eats scatternuts its subsequent poison blobs sometimes stuns you, can't remember what the other eaten things do

I honestly prefer base Bazel over Seething, considering that Seething is only in Elders recess. Loses the "invading monster" charm imo.
it does suck that it lost invader status.
Seething has to be higher for me because of his nova, a fucking purple minefield plus a dive absolutely dropped my jaw the first time I fought him.
The only downside. Otherwise it's B52 aircraft evolving into a B52 Tank that also flies.
I like see thing more because he drop bombs at random anymore

As cool as rajang is he would get bodied by nerg (or at least ruiner nerg). There are very few monster that I don’t think ruiner nerg could kill (mostly black dragons).
@@NCMETAL I agree, nergigante is the elder killer and his thing is adapting to a fight, he’s monster hunter wolverine. "You can mine Urugaan for exclusives"
*EXCUSE ME WHAT?!*
you can do the same to Radobaan and Zinogre
@@tristan62099 I know zinogre you can use the net
So...do you also know about using the butterfly net on Zinogre to harvest bugs off him?

@@DXYS95 please... Someone tell me why does everyone like him!!! I think he's the worst Monster of the franchise😅😅😅
@@luddbros689 I like them because these monsters force you to actually plan your hunt.

In my case they taught me to always bring some dung bombs.
I think they're meant to be intimidating and hard to fight (at least early in the game) rather than fun. Their design is also pretty cool: one is a massive angry and hungry t-rex, the other is a B-52 which will give you war ptsd.

So, when I faced Shara Ishvalda for the first time I already knew that it was covered in rocks and it wasn't that is true form because MHFO did it firt in 2012 with Taikun Zamuza.

@@usamimi-no-majo brief overview of different terms we've seen in the main series. (There are a ton more in frontier for instance)
Subspecies are basically entirely separate branch of the species that are their own separate thing that evolved down a different path due to environmental factors.
Don't get me started on the fact that Diablos can one shot you
I love tzi tzi because during all of MHW he is the most powerful monster since he could make your pc crash to desktop with his flash attack on early build of the game.
Next up: Rate the Monsters, E621 Edition!
"Kulve Taroth"
Damn... I want to see that... really bad now
*_H O L ' U P N O W-_*
Oh nooooooooooo xD
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
It was scary to hear baze's roar then say "What was that sound" then turning to the right to see him dive bomb you straight to cartland.
Not even mad.
Started to talk about Kirin and as the carts appear an ad for Health Care. Just a little hint to keep your health by staying away from that dang unicorn.
"Fatalis overshadows Alatreon in every way."
This is true. I can't even beat Fatalis... I'm a terrible hunter... I can beat Alatreon, but I can't even make it to Fatalis 3rd phase! I will never hear Proof of A Hero!
then...... git gut xD
No on a serious note, get yourself the best equipment you can get and then learn the figtht.
Oh. This comment is invalid. I actually beat him a few weeks ago.
In my personal experience of playing MHW, here's some of my fav monsters:
-Tobi-Kadachi: it's a really cool looking monster and had some interesting gimmicks about it, for me it's a solid 7/10.
-Radobahn: awesome looking beast and it's armour looks sick too. Plus it looks like it's kinda wearing an exo-skeleton with all the bones. 8/10
-Vaal Hazak: Holy shit! That thing creeped me out but it was so incredible in design plus the armour makes you look like a Nazgul from LOTR! 9/10
-Zinogre/Stygian Zinogre: my personal fav monster to fight. A Thunder Wolf Wyvern with one of the most badass themes in the series, 11/10 for me.
My least fav monsters:
-all piscine monsters: they can literally just go do one. Uninteresting and so annoying to fight. (Even tho Plesioth isn't in the game, thank fuck, just fighting that thing in previous games makes me wanna rage. Screw hip checks.) 1/10
-Rajang: in one way i like the fact that it's a challenging monster to fight and such but personally even with the best armour in the game with maxed defence and chugging down all the Mega Armourskins to survive blows from this thing, it's still gonna do like 70%/80% of your health. Screw you angry monkey. 1/10
-Zorah Magdaros: honestly the size of that thing at first sold me but then when i eventually got the chance to "fight" it, wholly underwhelming and the armour in terms of design just sucks. Also trying to fight this thing solo is so hard cuz you gotta manage all the cannons whilst the NPC's that load them just stand there twiddling their thumbs instead of blasting this walking volcano into smithereens. Boring, slow, uninteresting and just a snooze fest. 0/10
sorry this is a little long but just had to put it out there :p
Dude Tzytzy is awesome. He pulls up, flashes the monster you’re fighting, ignores you and then fucks off. Best monster in the game
I would like to thank Lunastra for my big blue explody sword.
I would also like to say she can burn in the Recess for being annoying to fight
It's really nice seeing him talk about all the monsters so passionately. It'd be super neat if he could just react to older monster, or even the special ones in Frontier, like the Big bird one
I want to see him and more people learn about guanzorumu.
Despite the title, Monster Hunter definitely grows on the player, especially World since, from what I’ve seen, has a solid story to go with it.
"Its a horse with a horn...and it pisses me off." Idk why that made me laugh so hard, lmao
6:38 Max: Ahhhhh Kirin
Plays Sephiroth's theme
Fun fact: the Pukei Pukei you fight at high rank was originally meant to be the low rank. Devs decided it was too tough for low and moved him to high while creating a weaker version for low
If that's true then that would explain why MHW vanilla is the second easiest MH game of the few that I've played, only MHGen vanilla was easier and that's why I didn't played MHGU.
@@andrako748 What? That literally has no correlation at all.
@@andrako748 I guess you didn't play Tri and 3rd either, those are by far the easiest entry's on the franchise.
Alatreon was pretty much the reality check for everyone sticking to their non-elemental builds and weapons.
The Dev's way of telling Greatsword players, "START USING ELEMENTS!"
I’ve still manage to beat him with GS, Took me like what 8 tries though
Well, not like you had any reason to use elements before him. It was mathematically inferior because capcom refuses to try out some higher variance in elemental motion values.
Plus, you could obviously run fortify and still use a raw weapon if you wanted to. Or if you didn't have an elemental weapon and still wanted to do the monster just by learning the moveset. Just have to deal with practically unavoidable deaths that way, which people are oddly okay with.
I just cheesed him with my blast hammer build by putting on fortify and killing him before he uses his third escaton judgement.
23:06 glavenus and brach were both made by team B, the same team that’s working on rise, which is probably the reason they have the same energy
Yian garuga is the "Purple Prick Chicken" for a reason
Rajang are really just Saiyans. Angry, fights with bare heands (Furious version even has a Beam attack).
Regular Rajang gets into Super Saiyan, his tail is weak spot.
Furious Rajang is in SSJ1 all the time, when he gets angried he gets extra sparky (SSJ2), his tail is cut off (so no more weak spot).
I'm pretty sure this is exactly how Saiyans look when using Freeza-o-vision.
Also Rajang goes Kaioken when his fists turn red. And he has a jump ki blast attack too.
As a monster hunter vet rathys are OG and they get respect from me that way.
I think Monster Hunter Stories 2 got me to appreciate them a lot more.
You forgot to mention how Shara Ishvalda spits hot bars
Me: looks at video length.
OH YEAH I am SO READY FOR THIS!
Do a ranking for DMC next please. The bosses, the enemies, the weapons. Anything could work. Just love to hear you talk about the series
Thank you for pronouncing Bazelgeuse in reference to the star it's named after.
There isn't a star called bazelgeuse
@@sudden_adoption Betelgeuse, almost the same
@@notme8152 sorry I thought the guy meant there was a star called bazelgeuse
man, Viper Tobi was my first wall in Iceborne and I grew to love him a lot
when you learn to recognise what he's going to do, the fight becomes much less annoying
he's also surprisingly chill outside of fights, I just LOVE watching this guy walk around the locale
I really want to see him find out about Hellblade Glavenus.
Alatreon is easily my favorite Hunt in the game. Alatreon was my first Black Dragon, and the Iceborne version is what Alatreon always ment to be.
No arch tempereds? I feel like AT Velkana is a 10/10
Her theme alone put the ice queen 10/10 spot
I fought her, almost all her ice breath attacks are a one shot lol
AT Velkhana isn't a variant
Umm that’s not a variant
I helped some ppl w fatalis the one day and their like "ahh what should we do now?" I meantioned- "well theres AT velkhana that hits bout as hard or harder than fatalis with the whole new arsenal of ice attacks and has a rivaling armour set" i heard alot of nopes in the following moments lmao. I myself enjoyed the fight, had to solo bcuz groups ppl fainted too often. Got the tickets i needed, retired to just helping other players

Brachydios was introduced as a minor flagship in MH3 next to Lagiacrus.
Glavenus was introduced as the flagship of MH Generations and is part of a 4 monster group called the Fated Four, next to Astalos, Mizutsune, and the highly underrated Gammoth.
Wuh....you didn't like Ebogaron? He's like an Akuma-fied Odo though
Ebony Odogaron looks cool as hell but the fight is quite disappointing
To answer your assumption, Brachydios and Glavenus are from two different Generations of games. Brachydios is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and Glavenus was the main flagship out of four flagship monsters for Monster Hunter Generations.
Got lot's of 10/10 on my list, for sure. ;) My favourite game the past 2 years. Over 2000 h spent.
Monster Hunter World awesome experience. 👍🏻
I remember savage jho throwing a odoragon at me and I fucking lost my shit.
Really wish Max would try GenU on the switch, would be great to see him react to all the monsters as well as the weapon styles.
He gone become a gore fanboy when he see him
when I do the quest "mans best friend" I grab all the traps I can carry then I grab the traps in the supply box then even before he can roar I place a trap and paralyze him then I give it all I got
then later in the fight I set the supply box trap and attack him with all my might again
odogaron is such an easy fight with traps
Fighting Kushala and Shrieking Legiana is like being in the waiting room of a Hospital. You don’t want to be there, but you gotta get it over with.
My dad used to joke saying that hitting monsters repeatedly is pretty fucked after 7:12 I think i see his point😅
My dood max is having a ptsd flashback because of thunder pony is absofuckingtutly 100% accurate, yet my all time favorite is fatalis since I started on Ps2 & knowing how they brought him back was my hypest moment of the year.
When he gets to Kirin it’s a whole mood.🤣
Holy fuck i adore this franchise. Mhw got its last update a while back and the game is still extremely active and fun even when you complete the story. and with rise coming out, its never been better.
Anybody else watched so many of these that you can guess his score before he says it by how he talks
Considering the aesthetics of MH Rise I see Amatsumagatsuchi returning and max seeing the other elder that “does the wind shit”
I guess hunters who never played MHFU will never know how hard it was to fight Tigrex and Nargacuga back in the day
Yes but they will be killed from fatty
10:03 Fun fact about Bazel, when he's 'enraged' he isn't mad, he just has a lot of adrenaline pumping in him.
(which is probably the reason why he ambushes you and your hunt)
