Just to be clear on the Nitro, it CAN be good, the main issue is how poorly performance can be in some configurations that are on offer.

I don't really understand why you're so opposed to single channel memory. Imo, single channel memory is definitely less wasteful compared to dual channel memory if you're looking to upgrade your laptop's memory down the line. For example, upgrading 16 to 32GB memory in a laptop with 2 8GB sticks means throwing away 2 8GB sticks unless you have some other laptop. Compared to that, getting a single 16GB stick means you can upgrade it to 32GB without wasting a RAM stick and paying less.

I definitely prefer Jarrod over others for the depth of his reviews to use as a comparison but this one doesn't sit right. The title is 100% clickbait & the entire concept is quite frankly ridiculous when we're talking about a $45 upgrade in reality, not to mention the 1660 ti comparison isn't even fair considering it's running more than 8gb ram, I mean even the best 3060 laptop (Legion) would perform similar on 8gb ram.
As far as "budget friendly" I wouldn't recommend this laptop at RRP but I wouldn't recommend any laptops at RRP & certainly not the competing laptops. Though if you look at sale prices of all price categories, this laptop is probably the best value available, beating the direct competitors like the new Dell G15 & Asus A15 in not just price but features (slightly better screen, thermals, i5 model, energy efficiency).
Even comparing it to the best sales on the best 3060 model (Legion) the only upgrades are a larger battery, 30watts on the 3060 which equates to an extra 1fps in nearly all games (more gpu draw means less power for cpu) though some very specific games can see a 5-10fps increase & a better screen though you could arguably just buy a far better & larger external monitor to use when gaming & still save a bundle of cash.
Imo this laptop sits well within it's price category & incredibly well within it's sale price category, c ertainly not a "Pathetic Excused As Budget Friendly".... I really hope Jarrod doesn't continue clickbaiting & cherry picking.

I've got the 5600H with 3060 but with 16 GB of dual channel RAM. I don't know why manufacturers even put 8GB single stick inside, today. I'm more than satisfied with my Nitro 5. Considering the other laptops in that performance range are 200$ more expensive, I'm really happy. Not to mention it's a 17.3 inch laptop, which is my #1 setting a laptop must have.
Is the RAM rank really important? Rx8 vs Rx16. I mean theoretically they could impact, but I highly doubt the impact could be more than a couple of percent on average? I'm a physicist and not a microelectronics engineer so I don't really know the depth of such things

I was lucky enough to get a Nitro 5 with 5600H and 3060, 2x 8GB x8 Ram for about 800 euro in Romania (after some discounts). I ran a Shadow of the Tomb Raider Benchmark with TAA anti-aliasing on Highest Settings, and the result was 94 fps, on par with the result with upgraded memory from the review. The CPU got to 90 C and the GPU maxed at 78 C. This was the cheapest configuration with a 3060 that I could get, and it's quite good for the price that I paid. Too bad that they are selling configurations that perform so poorly out of the box. It creates a bad reputation for a product that could otherwise be quite good. It's not only this model or manufacturer that is doing this though, as I've seen even some cheaper configurations of Legion 5/5 Pro with single channel x16 memory.

Thank u for the truth, so many other reviewers recommended this and I almost got it. Just pointing out the prices for these aren’t worth it either considering they are more expensive than ASUS TUF A15. Edit: As many of you have pointed out maybe the TUF isn't the best either, I just personally think the Nitro 5 doesn't have good value especially at higher end configurations where for a little more you can get ROG or Alienware or MSI with similar specs but MUCH better user experience.

It's very difficult find and affordable & great performance laptop under $900 USD. I have this model with i5-10300h, RTX 3050, storage 1TB Nvme (factory with 256 GB) and 24 GB RAM (factory with 8 GB). Of course, you won't expect (and you either can't) the best perform in an existing wide catalogue of games mainly, because vRAM is limited to 4GB. However and under my experience, this is a great budget gaming laptop option if you are not willing to spend more than $900 USD. I performed some hardware, maintenance upgrades and laptop's performance has been significative increased; adding more ram memory, upgrading Nvme storage and replacing old thermal paste makes my laptop faster, works with lower temperatures and fans works more silent. If your budget is above $1.200 USD, probably you will find better options.

The nitro 5 had enough for what I wanted (6 cores rtx 3060 with 6gb vram 2x8gb ram ddr4) and there was a 150 dollars gap with the legion 5, so I went for the nitro 5. There were always be more expensive and better options even for the Legion 5, if I had gone for the legion why not better spend other 150 dollars more for a legion 5 pro or an rtx 3070 laptop? I believe that 6gb vram and 6 cores is enough for the next years and there is no point on getting 8 cores with 6gb vram when in the future maybe 8gb vram will be the minimum :v

It probably wouldn't have been a hardship, since you could run the benchmarks with the dual channel in one laptop and the single in another at the same time, then swap them over. Either that or test the single stick in both laptops, but that would add a third to the time it took to benchmark.

The laptop runs too hot while gaming and even in normal tasks.
I don't know why but when I use, it runs super slow. I can't even download an image from Google .it takes so much loading time even in opening screenshots.
However if I restart, it runs fine and again if I plug it to charger, it becomes super slow. I can't even compile small program in codeblocks. I have so many problems with this thing. Even It's trackpad pad have some quality control issues, it's bowvelling

I got myself a Nitro 5 with higher specs and it runs great. Ryzen 7 5800h and RTX3070 version, the 3070 is running stable at 100w during gaming.
Mine does come with 1 stick of 16gb ram but I bought another 16gb to make it dual channel. The original ram is the same as the one Jarrod used in benchmarking video(Amd vs Intel 8 core) which is the Samsung 2r x8 one.
Not to mention I also got the better LG panel instead of AU optronics panel. No visible backlight bleed at all.
I got it with 1200 usd only during sale so I guess it is still a very low price(actually almost same price with 3060 version)

People talking as if it's picked from a dumpyard. Also Jarrod never mentioned which 1660Ti he's talking about? What was the TGP? Did it have a mux switch? What was the CPU? What was it's price? These details were skipped to conclude a 3060 performs more poorly than a 1660Ti.
