    Only one i dont think is top 5 is boston. the signings were good but terrible contracts. And Lindholm and Zadorov are old and both underperformed in VAN besides the playoffs.

    • @TheFaceoffyt
      @TheFaceoffyt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think Lindholm can do a job with Boston and the D-Core with Zadorov added is huge for them if they make it to the playoffs.

    You seem young so I liked and subscribed. To add to your hockey knowledge you should start using puckepedia to look up cap space and contracts for each team. Then for free agency look up AFP analytics for market value for each player. The only take I agree with is Boston really. The lindholm deal is a big risk but they were desperate for a center upgrade. They overpaid in cap hit and most important term on a player who hasn’t been performing like his new contract pays him. I think pasta can get him to a solid level tho. And for zadorov he’s overpaid a bunch. Nashville is screwed now. If they don’t win this year it’s only downhill from here. Since they didn’t do a real rebuild after they fell off after their finals run they don’t have the star talent to make a run. So they overpaid Stamkos got marche on a really solid deal and really overpaid skeji. Two years from now they are going to be hurting. Seattle signed montour. While he is a great dman the best years of his long contract are going to be way to early for the core of their team to ready to compete for a cup. The prospects are just too young. And they pulled the trigger probably two years two early.

      @TheFaceoffyt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That you for the feedback and kind words! Never really thought about Nashville like that, that’s a great point. What are your thoughts about the Oilers?

      @@TheFaceoffyt they did a good job. They got back basically everyone. And whoever they didn’t bring back they upgraded imo. I didn’t think they were finals run deep but adding Henrique at the deadline and having mcjesus makes anything possible lol. For them to win they’ll just need to stay healthy, get some bounces to go their way, and have mcdavid get 50 points apparently lol. So I doubt they’ll make it back. But the gm did a really good job with what he had to put them in the best spot possible. What held them back imo is old rule of 1C 1D 1G. I go by 1C 1W 1D 1G. Basically you need a 2 way(great at offense and defense) star player in each position. Florida had barkov Reinhart forsling/montour bob. Edmonton had mcdavid drasitsal Bouchard skinner. So they were missing one. The goalie. Teams that have those 4 locked down just need to add scoring depth and 2 strong defensive lines and a third that’s minimum +/- 0 or close to it. Once they have that they just need health. Cups are won by lines 2-4, strong defences and the goalie most of the time. The reason having those stars is still a big deal imo is for offensive/defensive zone faceoffs. You need to be able to win the faceoff more than 50% of the time and have dynamic offensive talent for d zone be able to win the faceoff and have a dman that can make a quick breakout pass to those players. Those connections let your stars shine and actually make an impact during the playoffs. Then depth scoring will win you tight games.

    Thank You! Finally Seattle gets some love for two great signings. Montour is going to be a great defensive partner with Dunn. Stephenson will add firepower along with Wright and Winterton coming up from Coachella Valley.

    Panthers kept Reinhart but could not bring back those other guys. I think having Kulikov and Mikkola gives them a decent top 4 with Ekblad and Forsling as the top duo.
    It’s as good as it could have been. There’s time to bring in some minimum contract role players later in the market. Also, Samoskevich is ready to replace Tarasenko.

    • @TheFaceoffyt
      @TheFaceoffyt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good point! Reinhart was a massive part of that cup winning team. Are there any other moves you think they’ll make?

      @@TheFaceoffyt they need a bottom 6 hitting role player winger to sign for minimum & now it’s time to play the kids: give Samo, Knight some games next year. You’ll know what you have in the system if they get some games and then adjust at deadline. So patience is key this offseason IMO.
