I have both and love them both! I think the reason I reach for the OMD more is because with the extra knobs on top, it is much easier to shoot on manual.

Yes agree! Not a huge amount in the difference between 8 & 9 - 9 has an inbuilt flash, ever so slightly faster image processor and some new filters.

The E-PL8 can use a detachable EVF (electronic viewfinder) as well as the old microphone port from Olympus

Thanks so much for these videos! I bought A EPL-9 recently but there's so much background static noise, like hissing, when I record videos, especially in a quiet room. I'm disappointed because I see some people using it for vlogging and they seem to make great videos with no or very little static background sound. Does yours do this too? Do you know how I could fix this issue? When I put my ear up to the camera it's the same sound that the inside of the camera is making constantly.Thanks for any help!

Thanks :) As I recall, there was some dissent with the E-M10III; with some commentators preferring more control and perhaps build quality with the Mark II - though, I've not looked into it. Also, there are reports of the E-M5III releasing soon.
The Pen-F appealled to me, but it's always seemed a bit too expensive compared with the Fujis. I was surprised to discover the 1960s film Pen-F - which is a miniature SLR in the form-factor of a rangefinder, and shoots 72 half-frames per roll. I don't really shoot film, but it would be the premier choice were I to do so.
