    i like the video. You present very well, I hope you go far. I do want to say that I wouldn't worry about heat and UV with watermelon. I think your plant would grow much better in full sun. They love it. Same with cukes. The sun keeps away powdery mildew as well. Just a thought. Ill be watching more videos and your style is refreshing my friend.

    Hi. If I make a trellis for the watermelon with a privacy screen, would that be too much shade for the plant? It will be on the west side when the afternoon sun comes. Other wisr the container gets direct light from about 8 am to 1 pm. Then the sun will be on the other side of the screen.

    • @sbf_fl
      @sbf_fl  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there. In general watermelon is a full sun plant. In that regard it should receive a minimum of 6 hours direct sun every day while it is growing. For watermelon 8 to 10 hours is even better. The privacy screen is an excellent idea for a trellis. Maybe if you could place some holes in the screen that will allow some unfiltered light to come through that could help. I have to cut back my banana plant leaves in order to avoid part shade the whole afternoon. I am interested to know how the screen will work for you. Best growing success!! Thanks for watching!!
