amendment is not enmienda, which is too literal. the proper term is "reforma constitucional"

As you noted, an accurate rendition of the word “amendment” is “reforma constitucional” when referring to a change in a constitution.
“Enmienda” is the legal term suggested by the Real Academia Española when used in a court of law to refer to corrections made to a legal document (such as a complaint, a motion, a plea).
